Abstract

Pembelajaran secara online telah dilakukan oleh guru-guru SMP Muhammadiyah PK Kartasura. Akan tetapi evaluasi secara online belum dilakukan secara baik. Banyak guru masih menggunakan cara paper-based test. Untuk itu perlu dilatih penggunaan aplikasi tes online agar efektif dan effisen. Pelatihan dengan metode ceramah dan praktik dipilih untuk kegiatan ini. Adapun hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa guru dapat menggunakan aplikasi tersebut mulai dari pengisian dashboard, pengisian data siswa dan mata pelajaran, manajemen tes, pengisian bank soal, dan yang terakhir melihat hasil pekerjaan siswa. Selanjutnya diharapkan hasil pelatihan ini dapat membantu sekolah dalam menguji siswa secara online dengan hasil cepat, efisien, dan efektif.

Abstract

This study investigated types of compliments used by netizen and the responses towards the compliments found in YouTube comments. Qualitative descriptive research methods was employed in this study. The data source comes from Youtube Comments on the NFL's web page entitled Rihanna's Full Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. The data was collected by using documentation and then analyzed by using content analysis. The findings revealed that there were three types of compliments found in the comments such as 7 appearances (7), skill / abilities (16) and personalities (2). It can be concluded that ability compliment was the most frequent appearing of compliments types. In addition, the data also showed that there were six compliment strategies found in the comments such as 5 Comment acceptance, 1 reassignment, 2 return, 1 question, 2 disagreements and 1 request interpretation.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to investigate the pragmalinguistic forms of anger and to describe the intentions of the anger expressions shown by the characters in the Narnia 1 movie. This research is qualitative research. The data from this study are all conversations that express anger in the Narnia Series 1. In collecting data, researchers used the documentation method. The data were analyzed using Madow's theory of pragmalinguistic forms of anger expressive and Leech's theory of speaking situations. The results of this study indicate that there are three pragmalinguistic forms of angry expressions used by the characters. The forms of the anger expressive are the direct form (26), the vague form (12), and the indirect form (1). The results of this study also show that there are eleven meanings of angry expressions. They are questioning (5), asserting (11), commanding (5), criticizing (2), mocking (5), disbelieving (2), ordering (1), suggesting (1), disagreeing (2), warning (3), and declaring (2). Thus, it can be concluded that direct form of anger is the form that appears the most in Narnia movie and asserting is the most dominant intention used by the characters in Narnia movie

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT. Subjek dalam  penelitian ini siswa kelas II SDN Ngadirejo 4 Kartasura yang berjumlah 12 orang. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus yaitu Siklus I dan Siklus II, dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Instrumen penelitian berupa dokumentasi dan tes. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan dokumentasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Deskripsi kualitatif dan kuantitatif dalam penelitian ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa yang awalnya 50,83 pada pra-siklus menjadi 70,83 di siklus I dan selanjutnya naik menjadi 89,17 di siklus II. Peningkatan ini terjadi karena model TGT mendorong siswa menjadi lebih antusias dan aktif selam proses pembelajaran, yang berkontribusi besar terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar mereka. Maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif TGT dengan dukungan media permainan ular tangga berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika.

Abstract

The aim of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of MIM Jatisasari teachers in using IT in learning at school. The problems faced by partners are: 1. Teachers still do not have the knowledge and skills in using IT and some teachers are even unable to create folders, create Google Drive, Google Forms and also cannot create PPT. 2. The school email address and teachers' email addresses are inactive and cannot be used. The number of participants was seven teachers. Instrument to obtain data through observation, interviews and documents. The process of implementing IT training is carried out through the partner problem analysis stage, training material creation stage, training implementation stage and evaluation stage. The results of this community service activity are: 1. Participants increase their insight into the use of IT as a learning medium. 2. Participants are able to create Google drive, Google form and PPT. 3. School and teacher email addresses can now be active and used again.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing symbols in a film with the aim of understanding the meaning and function of these symbols. The research method used is qualitative and refers to the theory developed by Charles Sanders Peirce. The data collection process was carried out through in-depth observation of the symbolic elements in the films that were the object of research. A qualitative approach provides the opportunity for researchers to holistically understand the context and significance of these symbols in the film narrative. Thus, this research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the role and meaning of symbols in a cinematic context and how these symbols contribute to the audience's experience in capturing the messages and stories conveyed by films.This research was aimed to explain the symbol and meaning in Enrico Casarosa's animated film Luca (2021) and to describe the function of symbols in the film. There were five symbols found in the film; Vespa represented freedom, friendship and solidarity; Sea and land represented the zone of comfort but limited and challenging life; Umbrella represented the identity add protection; Trophy represented victory; Sea monster represented fear and prejudice.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to identify the learner profiles of economics and medical students at a university in Indonesia. The goal is to use these profiles as a foundational reference for customizing English for Specific Purposes (ESP) programs to suit students' contextual and disciplinary needs. Methodology: A qualitative approach was employed in this study. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews conducted in three rounds, each lasting 30 minutes. The participants consisted of 12 ESP lecturers from higher education institutions in Indonesia. Results: The findings revealed that medical students generally have high English proficiency, are hardworking, diligent, highly motivated, well-mannered, active, and goal-oriented. In contrast, economics students tend to be passive, sociable, polite, less motivated, lower in English proficiency, and more dependent on contextual learning. Applications/Originality/Value: This research highlights the necessity of considering students’ distinct characteristics in the development and implementation of ESP programs. Tailoring instructional strategies based on student profiles can significantly enhance the effectiveness and relevance of ESP teaching in higher education contexts.

Abstract

The primary objectives of this study are to identify and analyze the conflicts encountered by the protagonist in The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde through the lens of Kenney’s Conflict Theory, to examine how the main character constructs and contributes to these conflicts throughout the narrative, and to explore how these conflicts influence the protagonist’s character development. The research employs several data collection methods, including close reading, systematic coding and categorization, thematic analysis, and interpretative strategies. The findings reveal a total of nine external and four internal conflicts depicted in the novel. The narrative structure follows a conventional progression encompassing exposition, the central conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. The character development of the protagonist is portrayed through significant psychological transformation as the plot unfolds. This transformation is marked by a dynamic emotional journey, encompassing a range of sentiments such as joy, remorse, fear, admiration, jealousy, awe, love, and enthusiasm.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discover how female independence is portrayed in the Pride and Prejudice (2005) movie and examine the effects of this portrayal. This study applies feminist theory and is classified as a literary study. To analyze the data, researchers used qualitative data analysis. The result reveals that Elizabeth Bennet exemplifies various facets of female autonomy, highlighting the interplay between existential freedom and societal constraints. Her assertiveness, seen in rejecting Mr. Collins and seeking genuine connections over financial stability, underscores the positive effects of resisting traditional gender roles and societal expectations. This defiance promotes critical reflection on norms and encourages societal evolution. The narrative emphasizes economic independence, with Elizabeth's pursuit of love rather than financial security enhancing her relationship with Mr. Darcy and contributing to societal well-being. It also explores sexual freedom and the ambiguity of freedom, showcasing the positive impact of her autonomy on her family and society's perception of her unconventional choices. The study suggests that by examining the Pride and Prejudice (2005) movie, readers and other researchers can gain insights into the portrayal of female independence. This research may serve as a foundation for those with different backgrounds or methods, such as psychological or Marxist approaches, to build on and undertake studies from a broader perspective.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                                     SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Bolon Colomadu Karanganyar menghadapi permasalahan keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi, belum adanya sistem pembelajaran digital (Learning Management System/LMS) dan sistem administrasi terintegrasi, serta rendahnya literasi digital guru dan siswa. Tujuan program ini adalah mengembangkan inovasi sistem pembelajaran dan administrasi berbasis teknologi untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan pendidikan dan efisiensi administrasi sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup sosialisasi, pelatihan literasi digital bagi guru dan staf, penyediaan infrastruktur pendukung, penerapan platform LMS, pendampingan, serta evaluasi berkelanjutan. Tahapan kegiatan ini dimulai dengan penyerapan aspirasi mitra bulan Mei 2025 dilanjutkan koordinasi dengan tim dosen dan mahasiswa merancang dan membuat aplikasi sesuai permasalahan mitra dari bulan Juli-September 2025 dan kemudian evaluasi kegiatan di bulan September 2025. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Bolon dengan jumlah peserta 70 siswa, 15 guru, dan 5 staf administrasi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui monitoring kuantitatif (partisipasi penggunaan LMS, data administrasi digital) dan kualitatif (FGD serta angket kepuasan). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan literasi digital guru dan siswa sebesar 100% sesuai target, efisiensi administrasi meningkat hingga 30%, serta efektivitas pembelajaran digital meningkat 25%. Program ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas layanan pendidikan, kemandirian belajar siswa, serta mendukung pencapaian SDGs bidang pendidikan berkualitas dan inovasi teknologi. Kata kunci: inovasi pembelajaran; administrasi digital; literasi digital; LMS; SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Bolon. ABSTRACTSMP Muhammadiyah 7 Bolon Colomadu Karanganyar faces the challenges is the lack of infrastuctures of technology, learning management system (LMS) and intregated administration system as well as the lack of literacy level of teachers and students. The objective of this program is developing effective innovation system in administration and learning management system. The methods consists of socialization, digital literacy training for staff, teachers, providing insfrastrucrure, implementation, coaching and sustainable evaluation. The stages of this program started with aspiration discussion in Mey 2025, continued with the coordination with team tesearch and students, designing and developing system based on the real problem from July-September 2025 and lasted with evaluation in September 2025. The join partner of this program is SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Colomadu with 70 students, 15 teachers, 5 staffs of administration. Evaluation done through quantitative monitoring (participation of LMS users, digital administration data) and qualitative (FGD and survey). The results of the program is the significant increase of digital literacy up to 100%, efficiency on administration 30% increase and effective learning process up to 25% increase. This program contributed on the quality service in learning, student independent learning in support of SDGs in qualified education and technology innovation. Key words: innovation of learning; digital administration, digital literacy; LMS; SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Bolon.
