Abstract

Abstract

Background: Pneumoperitoneum is a serious medical condition characterized by the presence of air or gas in the peritoneal cavity. This phenomenon often requires immediate surgical intervention, although some cases can be non-surgical. In the context of COVID-19, pneumoperitoneum may emerge as an unusual complication that requires in-depth understanding of its mechanisms for appropriate management. Case Presentation: The case of a 63-year-old man with COVID-19 and spontaneous pneumoperitoneum without evidence of visceral perforation is reported. Patients underwent radiological examinations including X-ray and CT scan for diagnosis and monitoring, while management was carried out conservatively without surgical intervention. The examination revealed pneumoperitoneum with signs of Macklin effect without evidence of organ perforation. The patient was maintained with oxygen via nasal cannula, and recovery was marked by resorption of the pneumoperitoneum and clinical improvement within seven days. No further complications were found, and the patient was successfully removed. Conclusion: Pneumoperitoneum in COVID-19 patients can occur without organ perforation, known as non-surgical spontaneous pneumoperitoneum. Mechanisms involving the Macklin effect and high oxygen pressure are the main factors. Conservative management can be a safe and effective approach in cases without surgical indications. Further studies are needed to understand these complications in depth, especially in relation to COVID-19.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication patterns formed within the Pahlawan Women's Farmer Group (KWT) and its role in the development of vegetable farming businesses. Communication is an essential aspect in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of group programs. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from KWT members. The results indicate that in the management of farming activities, there are two main communication patterns: two-way communication and multi-way communication. The two-way communication pattern is reflected in the interaction between the leader and group members, which is dialogical and allows for balanced information exchange. Meanwhile, the multi-way communication pattern is shown through open discussions between members and with external parties, such as agricultural extension workers. This communication occurs both directly and through media such as WhatsApp and posters. The effectiveness of communication is significantly influenced by the leader's skills, the education level of members, and the frequency of meetings. These findings highlight the importance of participatory and open communication patterns as a foundation for the success of women's farmer empowerment programs and the improvement of vegetable farming productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the existence, legality, and chip trading transactions in the Higgs Domino game from the perspective of Islamic law. The game has rapidly gained popularity among Indonesian society in line with the advancement of digital technology and the rise of online entertainment culture. However, its popularity has raised concerns due to elements resembling gambling practices. This research is a qualitative library study using a normative legal approach. Primary sources include literature on fiqh muamalah and statutory regulations, while secondary sources consist of scientific journals and books published within the last ten years. The findings reveal that although Higgs Domino is legally available on digital platforms, its legality remains in a legal grey area due to weak regulations regarding digital forms of gambling, particularly in chip trading transactions. From the standpoint of Islamic law, these practices involve elements of gharar (uncertainty) and maisir (gambling), and lead to harmful social impacts such as addiction and wasteful spending. Therefore, Higgs Domino and all forms of chip transactions are deemed invalid under Islamic law and should not be legitimized within Muslim communities.
