Abstract

This article examines the plurality of fatwa authorities in determining product halalness in Indonesia and its implications for the Halal Product Assurance (JPH) ecosystem. Using a comparative juridical-empirical approach, the study identifies the sources of plurality (interactions between the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Halal Product Fatwa Committee (BPJPH), and implementing regulations), analyzes its impact on legal certainty and consumer protection, and compares institutional alternatives from Malaysia (the centralized model/JAKIM) and international standard practice (SMIIC). Findings indicate that plurality without a harmonization mechanism creates informational confusion, risks fragmentation of technical standards, and potential erosion of the legitimacy of halal certification; therefore, a formal coordination protocol, an integrated fatwa registry, a fatwa dispute resolution mechanism, and strengthening of technical accreditation are needed.

Abstract

The mandatory labeling of non-halal products is a crucial element of the Halal Product Assurance system in Indonesia as stipulated in Law Number 33 of 2014. This study highlights normative, technical, and consumer protection aspects, including the inclusion of the “non-halal” statement on packaging, material color indicators, and the basis of sharia legitimacy through Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) principles. Using a qualitative approach, using analysis of legal documents, academic literature, and comparative studies with countries such as Malaysia and Turkey, this study found that non-halal labeling increases legal certainty, transparency, and consumer trust while reducing the risk of misleading claims. This study recommends strengthening fatwa registration, harmonizing procedures, and improving LPH accreditation to strengthen the credibility and efficiency of the JPH system in Indonesia

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of workload, motivation, and job satisfaction on employee performance in Indomie food stalls across the Solo Raya region. Employing a quantitative research design, the study translates abstract concepts into measurable indicators, enabling precise empirical analysis of the relationships among the variables. Workload is defined as the mental and physical demands placed on employees, motivation as the internal drive to achieve objectives, and job satisfaction as positive emotional responses to work experiences. Data were collected through purposive sampling of active employees using validated Likert-scale questionnaires, and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that motivation and job satisfaction significantly and positively affect employee performance, while workload shows a negative but non-significant effect. Despite providing valuable insights, the model explains only 36.2% of the variance in employee performance, suggesting additional factors such as leadership style, work environment, or discipline may influence outcomes. Future research is recommended to broaden the study context, incorporate additional variables, and refine measurement instruments, particularly for workload, to better capture the dynamics of informal culinary work environments.

Abstract

Abstract The transition of banking applications from BNI Mobile Banking to wondr by BNI has created adoption challenges for BNI customers, particularly for those in the 25-40 age group, stemming from learnability and adaptability issues. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and compare the learnability (ease of learning) and adaptability (ability to adjust) of Generation Z (18-26 years old) and Millennial (27-40 years old) customers in using the wondr by BNI application. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through semi-structured interviews with ten participants and processed using thematic analysis. The study methodology encompasses conducting interviews, transcribing recordings, coding data, and verifying the accuracy of the findings. The findings show that Generation Z users tend to adapt more quickly through self-exploration, yet they often encounter difficulties in finding desired features. On the other hand, Millennial users face greater transition barriers due to habits formed with the previous application but demonstrate higher learning perseverance. The main challenges identified in both groups include inconsistent feature naming, suboptimal feature usage flows, and problems with the login system. Conversely, an intuitive visual design and a user-friendly interface were the primary supporting factors in the user adaptation process. These findings conclude that the user experience in application migration is significantly influenced by generational differences, providing insights for designing a more inclusive digital application transition strategy for all generations.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of halal tourism policies in Indonesia in the contemporary era, which has developed amid regulatory fragmentation and regional-level differences in interpretation, due to the absence of a comprehensive national legal umbrella. Halal tourism is not placed solely as an economic and branding instrument, but as a public legal policy issue related to legal certainty, normative authority, and the achievement of benefits. This research employs normative legal methods, including legislative and conceptual approaches. The analysis was carried out qualitatively through doctrinal interpretation and critical legal reasoning of laws and regulations, regional policies, DSN-MUI fatwas, and relevant academic literature. The results of the study show that the absence of national regulations has given rise to a plurality of halal tourism policy models, ranging from the binding formalisation of Sharia in Aceh, a pragmatic market-based approach in West Nusa Tenggara, to the rejection of halal terminology in Bali, based on the protection of cultural identity. In this context, the DSN-MUI fatwa functions as a normative and ethical authority that is a soft law without juridical binding, so it has not been able to guarantee the consistency of halal tourism governance nationally. An evaluation based on maqasid shari'ah, especially the protection of religion, intellect, and property, shows that halal tourism policies across regions still tend to be symbolic and pragmatic and have not fully realized the benefits or increased the utility of tourists in worldly and ukhrawi (falah) ways. This study concludes that a national policy framework for halal tourism is needed, based on adaptive, inclusive minimum national standards that ensure legal certainty while respecting the plurality of regional cultures. The academic contribution of this research lies in the formulation of a halal tourism legal framework based on maqasid shari'ah that integrates Islamic normative values with the principles of decentralisation and pluralism of Indonesian law.
