Abstract

In each plate cutting, design is paramount in the cutting plan. Cutting plan was made to minimize costs, wages designers, reducing the lead time required to order and improve the accuracy of estimated production costs. To help address the difficulties in cutting plate, it needs to be an expert system application expertise, bringing together designers each cut plate. The system created is an expert system for plate cutting plan is done by designing a program with the cutting plate in accordance with the wishes of the user using Visual Basic programming language 6.0. Where in the making users create data base using microsoft acces then applied into Visual Basic 6.0. Although this application is simply to cut the plate arrives squares and rectangles only, but with this program engineer can determine the total and the rest of the plate to be cut before the plate was cut.Keywords: expert system, cutting plate, rest of plate cutting

Abstract

Magnesium merupakan satu diantara bahan ringan yang banyak digunakan antaranya di bidang otomotif, sport, biomedik dan elektronik, karena memiliki sifat yang ringan dan tahan terhadap korosi. Namun magnesium dikenal sebagai bahan logam yang mudah terbakar, karena memiliki titik nyala yang rendah. Sehingga pada proses pemesinannya harus menggunakan cairan pendingin untuk menurunkan suhu pemotongan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan pengaruh penambahan pelumas terhadap nilai kekasran permukaan atau kwalitas permukaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa jenis pelumas yaitu synthetic oil, minyak kedelai, dan kelapa sawit yang akan dibandingkan tanpa menggunakan pelumas. Hasil pengujian pemesinan frais untuk mendapatkan nilai kekasaran permukaan material magnesium AZ31 pada parameter kecepatan potong pahat (Vc) 31,4, 40,82, dan 50,24 m/min, gerak makan (f) 0,15 mm/rev, dan kedalaman potong 1 mm menggunakan pahat end mill berdiameter 10 mm. Kemudian dilakukan uji kekasaran pada permukaan benda kerja tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kekasaran minimum 1,147 μm dicapai dengan menggunakan minyak kelapa sawit dimana hasil tersebut lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan nilai kekasaran maksimum 5,925 μm. Pelumasan menggunakan minyak synthetic oil dan minyak kedelai pada pemesinan frais tidak memberikan pengaruh yang besar. Kesulitan bahan pelumas sampai pada area kontak juga mengurangi efektifitas pelumasannya.

Abstract

Abstrak Saat ini. konsumen di dunia sangat memperhatikan dampak dari pemanfaatan produk terhadap lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, mereka membeli produk yang aman untuk alasan ini. Kondisi ini menjadi peluang bagi perusahaan untuk menciptakan merek di benak konsumen sehingga mereka dapat memasarkan produk tersebut secara efektif. Meskipun merek lokal yang berlabel green product di Indonesia cukup banyak, namun kecenderungan konsumen untuk menggunakan produk tersebut tidak sebesar di negara lain. Berdasarkan isu tersebut, penelitian ini bermaksud mengungkap alasan niat masyarakat Indonesia di Bandar Lampung untuk membeli produk perawatan kulit dengan menguji beberapa faktor penentu: kesadaran diri masyarakat, kebanggaan, rasa bersalah, dan kesadaran. Untuk itu, kami menggunakan survei berdasarkan 240 tanggapan dan menganalisisnya dengan model persamaan struktural berdasarkan kovarians untuk mencapai tujuan ini. Studi ini mengungkapkan niat ini dipengaruhi oleh kesadaran diri publik, kebanggaan, dan rasa bersalah secara positif. Pengaruh positif ini terjadi ketika peneliti memeriksa dampak perasaan bangga dan perhatian terhadap kesadaran diri atas publik. Kata Kunci: produk perawatan kulit berwawasan lingkungan, kebanggaan, rasa bersalah, kesadaran diri publik, niat beli.

Abstract

Kegiatan konsumsi rumah tangga di perkotaan menjadi salah satu aspek yang berkontribusi tinggi pada permasalahan lingkungan, yang meliputi pemakaian sumber daya, produksi emisi dan limbah rumah tangga baik berupa gas, padat maupun cair. Salah satu alternatif cara untuk menekan kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas konsumsi rumah tangga ini adalah melalui penggunaan produk-produk yang bersifat lebih ramah lingkungan, walaupun efektivitas dari strategi ini masih banyak diperdebatkan. Artikel ini memaparkan strategi desain ramah lingkungan pada produk rumah tangga, melalui penelusuran penelitian-penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya. Dari sekian strategi yang dipaparkan maka dipilih salah satu strategi untuk diterapkan yaitu ‘eco-information’ ke dalam produk mesin cuci 2 tabung, yang saat ini banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Aplikasi strategi dilakukan dengan memberikan modifikasi desain kepada mesin cuci, di mana pengguna dapat melihat penggunaan air dan listrik secara langsung pada saat proses pencucian sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesadaran / awareness pengguna akan sumber daya yang dipakai. Efektivitas strategi ini diuji melalui eksperimen yang melibatkan responden, di mana konsumsi air sebelum dan sesudah penerapan strategi dicatat dan dianalisis lebih lanjut, dan didapatkan bahwa penerapan strategi memberikan efek yang signifikan pada perilaku pengguna mesin cuci terkait konsumsi air

Abstract

Improving the performance of small and medium enterprises (SME) means enhancing the economics of a nation, considering that SMEs are the biggest part in global economic activities. The higher the SME’s activities, the higher the economic growth occurs in a country. However, nurturing SMEs activities affect the environment, while the damage inclines every day in a worrying level. There is a huge demand to suppress down the environmental damage rate globally, as if it causes a contradictive goal with the economic perspective. Thus, a compromise should be made between both expectations, even it is not easy to do so. Answering to the problem, discussions have been made among scholars around the world, including in Indonesia as an emerging country. Theories and methods were proposed, varying based on characteristics in each region. Especially in Indonesia, there is a lack of literature review on this field, which is actually required to depict the current condition, to evaluate the discussion effectiveness and to develop future improvements. Therefore, this article aims to fill this gap by presenting scientific articles related to the topic and reviewing the discussion. Subsequently, a classification of the articles based on identified themes is conducted. And further the classification is used to see more specific gaps in the discussion and to provide recommendation for the next studies.

Abstract

The number of vehicle usage, especially motorcycles, in Indonesia has significantly increased in the past 10 years, particularly among young people. This has had an impact on the declining air quality in public places, including on campus grounds. PM2.5, as one of the hazardous pollutants to health, needs to be given special attention regarding its dispersion concentration in areas heavily frequented by the public, such as parking lots on campus. This study analyzes the level of PM2.5 concentration in the campus parking lots at Universitas Lampung, with the aim of observing the pattern of PM2.5 pollution in the campus area, considering the increasing number of motorcycles entering the campus every year. The measurement of PM2.5 levels was conducted using a light scattering sensor in two parking lots with different microenvironments, and then its correlation with motorcycle activities at each location was analyzed using simple regression. Based on statistical analysis, it was found that the differences in microenvironments affect PM2.5 levels significantly. The number of motorcycle activities also has a positive correlation with the level of PM2.5, where the average PM2.5 concentration recorded has exceeded the threshold set by the government, which is 15 µg/m3 per day. However, the effect of the microenvironment in this study is stronger than the number of vehicles. Therefore, in the future, appropriate policies and strategies are needed to reduce PM2.5 concentrations in public areas, especially on campuses, to prevent the associated risks of the pollution.

Abstract

Substituting diesel technology with eco-technologies in public buses is one of the prominent efforts being made to achieve a sustainable transportation system goal. Among these eco-technologies, commonly used ones include electric vehicles, natural gas fuel, hydrogen fuel, and bio-diesel fuel technology. However, the performance comparison between these technologies in reducing environmental impact at each location where they are implemented remains unanswered by previous studies. Research to measure the effectiveness of each of the eco-technologies in reducing environmental issues has been conducted extensively, employing various methods and metrics. This study conducted a systematic review of 94 articles that met the predefined inclusion criteria to obtain performance comparisons among these technologies. As a result, a general trend has been observed that eco-technologies have successfully achieved their intended goals with various success rates, although electric bus technology has advantages over other technologies based on the articles. However, its effectiveness relies on specific aspects to optimize its environmental performance. Therefore, the suitability of implementation in a region will depend on many factors. This article contributes to determining the extent to which eco-technologies are implemented in buses worldwide, serving as a consideration for decision-makers, and identifying research gaps in this topic.

Abstract

This study evaluated the operational effectiveness of the Fluidized Bed Dryer (FBD) machine in the traditional black tea drying process using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) framework, which includes availability, performance efficiency, and quality rate, as defined in ISO 22400-2:2014. Data collected from January to June 2023 indicated an average OEE of 83.66%. Although availability was consistently high (94–100%) and product quality maintained at 100% throughout the month, performance efficiency varied considerably, dropping to 69% in January and 66% in April, primarily due to operational delays and unstable machine utilization. These results indicate that performance efficiency was the main factor affecting OEE and total productivity. It recommends implementing condition-based maintenance procedures and real-time process monitoring systems to minimize unexpected downtime and enhance operational stability. Better regulation of input load, airflow, and drying temperature was crucial to ensure consistent performance and support product standardization in accordance with SNI 2891:2016, ultimately enhancing the competitiveness of the black tea processing industry.

Abstract

COVID-19 is a virus that can spread through objects and depending on environmental conditions. It can last for several hours without destroying structures or disintegrating. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people were restricted from going outside to buy essential goods. Based on these conditions, it is necessary to design an IoT-based virus-safe package receipt box that is intuitive and comfortable for users to use, whether sending or receiving packages. People can control the system via remote control. Sterilization is carried out intelligently by considering the packet received. Design and construction of Internet of Things Ultraviolet Sterilizer Receiver Box use the Design Science Research Method. The methods consist of six stages: identify problem and motivate, define the objective of a solution, design and development, demonstration, evaluation, and communication. There are three parts of the system: sterilizer receiver box, mobile application, and Internet of Things. The system successfully passes the five testing scenarios: package received detection, package retrieved detection, ultraviolet irradiation, data service, and locking. The IoT-based virus-safe package receipt box can help maintain public health by preventing the COVID-19 virus with ultraviolet sterilization and supporting a modern lifestyle where people who work when the package arrives do not have to worry about the packages arriving.
