Abstract

This article tries to unpack a theme deals with syirik written in the manuscript of Al-Adawiyatu al-Syafiyatu fi Bayani Salati al-Hajati wa al-Istikharati wa Daf’i al- Kurbat, a Sundanese text in the pegon scripts. This lithographic text was written by KH Ahmad Sanusi (1888-1950 M, a member of BPUKI (Committee for Preparatory Work for Indonesian Independence), established prior to the Indonesian independence in 1945. The text described at the time of being close to  independence proclaimation, there were criminal acts, particularly robbery cases growing significantly at that time. This social problem raised in society resulted in growing a phenomenon of which the people needed solution by consulting to dukun or visiting sacred places with hope of such lost articles would be back to the owners.  In this case, KH Sanusi in his work recommended to the muslim not to do any syirik deeds, but it necessary to do pray sholat hajat or istikharah and increased their doa for it solution.  The text of Adawiyah was written in 1348 H/1929 M which was coincidently happened with phenomenon of ecomic crises in the world. Naskah berbentuk litograf ini ditulis oleh K.H. Ahmad Sanusi (1888-1950 M), salah se­orang anggota BPUPKI yang berdiri jelang kemerdekaan Indonesia tahun 1945. Dalam nas­kah tersebut diinformasikan maraknya pencurian hingga banyak orang berdatangan ke tempat-tempat yang dikramatkan dan dukun untuk me­ngetahui barang-barang yang hilang. Untuk meng­atasinya, K.H. Ahmad Sanusi memberikan solusi agar umat Islam tidak melakukan praktik-praktik syirik, namun melakukan salat hajat dan salat istikharah serta doa-doa untuk mengatasi ke­sulitan. Naskah al-Adawiyah ini ditulis pada tahun 1348 H/ 1929 M yang bersamaan dengan tahun terjadinya krisis ekonomi dunia (malaise). Rakyat miskin pun semakin bertambah, ke­rusuhan, pencurian, perampokan, juga marak di kota-kota maupun di desa-desa. Pada tahun 1929 ini selain terjadinya krisis ekonomi dunia juga merupakan awal munculnya istilah “tuyul” di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia.Kata Kunci: al-Adawiyah, syirik, kemiskinan, pencurian, krisis ekonomi dunia

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article examines an Arabic manuscript, al-Fut???t al-Il?hiyyah, authored by an esteemed Egyptian scholar, Sheikh Zakariyy? al-An??r?. This text encapsulates a summary (mukhta?ar) of Sufi knowledge. The primary aim of this research is to overview of the content of al-Fut???t al-Il?hiyyah and dissect the teachings of Sufism embedded within the text. The research utilizes philology and Sufism theories. Philology aids in the accurate translation of the text, preserving the integrity of the original content while making it accessible to the intended audience. On the other hand, Sufism theories provide a framework to unearth the profound meanings and teachings that the text holds within its narrative. The findings from this analysis reveal that Sheikh Zakariyy? al-An??r?'s work, al-Fut???t al-Il?hiyyah, is characterized by its emphasis on practical or ethical Sufism. The pivotal concept highlighted throughout the text is the “path to Allah” or Maq?m?t. This includes a spectrum of concepts such as Taubat (Repentance), Zuhud (Asceticism), Tawakkal (Reliance on God), 'Uzlah (Seclusion), Zikr (Habitual Remembrance), Tawajjuh il? All?h bi al-Kulliyyah (Total Focus on Allah), ?abr (Patience), Mur?qabah (Spiritual Supervision), and Ri?? (Contentment). Overall, this research underscores the depth and richness of Sufi teachings within al-Fut???t al-Il?hiyyah, and the significant role of such texts in preserving and disseminating these teachings. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyajikan tinjauan isi teks al-Fut???t al-Il?hiyyah dan analisis ajaran tasawuf pada teks. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, digunakan teori filologi dan tasawuf. Hasil penelitian ini adalah teks FI karangan Zakariyy? al-An??r? ini mempuyai corak tasawuf amali atau akhlaki, dengan konsep “jalan menuju Allah” nya atau dikenal dengan Maq?m?t, yang meliputi Taubat, Zuhud, Tawakkal, ‘Uzlah (mengasingkan diri), Membiasakan Zikir, Tawajjuh il? Abstract

Traditional pesantren architecture has yet to be defined by a specific building type as it encompasses both educational and residential buildings. Many researchers explore the curriculum and its educational issues, but they often overlook the fact that all activities are closely related to where they occur. The morphology of building complexes identifies the history of buildings, including the reason for their development. This paper explores the morphology of building complexes in traditional pesantren to analyze how far the development of buildings has progressed from the old traditional pesantren since its first existence in Indonesia in general and relate it to vernacular architecture around it. A pesantren in Wajo, South Sulawesi, two pesantrens in East Kalimantan, and a pesantren in Waikabubak, East Nusa Tenggara, are the case studies used to explore the morphology. The research found that all morphologies of traditional pesantren still refer to the traditional pesantren in general. However, there are some modifications because of the needs of the pesantren's capacity and the location's natural setting. Contextualizing pesantren around the community and vernacular architecture is not the main important point for the development because recently they should prioritize santris room occupancy and more accessible building construction strategies.

Abstract

This research focuses on the sharia economic practices during the Cirebon and Mataram Sultanates. This research uses the historical method, with four steps. These are heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography.Data comes from historical artifacts, archives and manuscripts. Data was collected through library research, field observations, and FGD (FocusedGroup Discussion). The results showed that some aspects of economic practicesduring the Cirebon and Mataram sultanates in the 15 th to 17 th centuries AD were based on Islamic economic principles or sharia economics. Cirebon and Mataram’s economic policies referred to the principle of benefit, independentmanagement of land and state wealth; no foreign interference; fair land distribution to the people; just tax levies depending on people’s welfare; state revenues-based production; agriculture and plantations; as well as customsduties on goods and services. These are actually the sharia economics practices. Sharia-based economic practices are essentially forms of religious moderation practice in line with the principles of justice and equality.  Abstrak: Penelitian ini membahas praktik ekonomi syariah pada masa Kesultanan Cirebon dan Mataram melalui kajian sejarah. Penelitian ini menggunakan motode sejarah. Ada empat langkah dalam penelitian sejarah, yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Sumber data berupa benda-benda peninggalan sejarah, arsip dan manuskrip. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara kajian pustaka (library research), observasi lapangan,wawancara, dan FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik ekonomi pada masa Kesultanan Cirebon dan Mataram, khususnya abad ke-15-17 M berdasarkan pada ajaran Islam, yakni ekonomi syariah. Kebijakan Cirebon dan Mataram dalam ekonomi menganut asas kemaslahatan: pengelolaan tanah dan kekayaan negara secara mandiri, tidak ada campur tangan asing; tanah didistribusikan kepada rakyat secara adil; pungutanpajak disesuaikan dengan tingkat kesejahteraan rakyat; pendapatan negara diutamakan dari hasil bumi, pertanian dan perkebunan. Praktik ekonomi syariah hakikatnya adalah praktik moderasi beragama dalam ekonomi, denganprinsip keadilan dan kesetaraan.
