Abstract

Abstract: In Indonesia where the majority of the population is Muslims, pesantren that has thrived since the arrival of Islam to the shore of the archipelago is still out of the central field of the national educational system. As such, pesantren was and is forced to continually be aware with ongoing new educational developments in the country as the result of modernisation and globalisation. The foundation of Ma’had Aly is one of the ways taken by the pesantrens to response to the current developments within Muslim communities, to define or even maintain their central roles as well as to preserve their tradition in such a modernised and globalised Indonesia. By exploring the foundation of Ma’had Alys in Kuningan as a case study, this article closely elaborates how the pesantren world engages these processes both in their cirricular settings and practices and provides how it negotiates with the ongoing changes within its surrounding communities.Key Word: Pesantren, modernity, Ma’had ‘Ali Kuningan

Abstract

This article related to the dynamic of islam intellectual network in Cirebon post Sunan Gunung Jati in the late of 16 century until early of 18 century. This era has been crucial because every dynamic of islam intellectual network happened after the death of Sunan Gunung Jati. Then the implication had headed to the existence of islamic education institution which is held in Keraton, one of the basis where islamic intellectual network in Cirebon, and also to the dominant intellectual discourse that evolved for two centuries. There are three stages of islam intellectual network progress in Indonesia which is related to middle east as a center and also main reference since 13 century untill 20 century. Firts, islamisasi (islamisation). This was when Islam for the first time spreaded by moslem’s traders, travelers, and moslem scholars (ulama). This happened around 13 century. Second, neo-sufism. Neo sufism has occured for 3 centuries, since 16 centuries till 18 centuries. In this era some moslem scholars have had significant roles to disseminate knowledge and movement from middle east to Nusantara. And third, purification of islam. Some moslem scholars that have already finished their study and hajj became active to spread the ideas of purification of islam which developed in middle east.

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRAK Jaringan Ulama di Cirebon abad ke-19 merupakan rangkaian mata rantai keilmuan baik berupa sanad tarekat yang ketersambungannya merujuk kepada Rasulullah SAW maupun melalui jalur  nasab yang dimiliki oleh para pendiri pesantren di Cirebon yang bermuara kepada Sunan Gunung Jati atau Syekh Syarif Hidayat (1448-1568) sebagai pendiri kerajaan Cirebon pada abad ke-15. Keduanya merupakan entry poin yang dapat menghubungkan ketersambungan ulama atau lebih dikenal sebagai jaringan ulama pada abad sebelum dan sesudah abad ke- 19 tersebut.Peran Makkah dan Madinah saat itu, terutama pada abad ke-17 dan 18 bahkan memuncak pada abad ke-19, sangat signifikan dalam membentuk rekonsiliasi tasawuf (mistisisme Islam) dan syariat sehingga muncul istilah neo-sufisme. Dan salah satu bentuk dari neo-sufisme ini adalah pengajaran-pengajaran tarekat selain pengajaran Islam lainnya yang lebih berorientasi kepada fikih.Tarekat Syattariyah kemudian menjadi tarekat yang paling dominan yang diinisiasi oleh para ulama Cirebon yang kemudian membentuk jaringan tersendiri dalam wadah pesantren-pesantren yang tumbuh dan berdiri di Cirebon; selain tentu saja banyak tarekat-tarekat lainnya yang juga berkembang cukup signifikan dengan jumlah pengikut yang cukup massif.Keberadaan pesantren tidak bisa dilepaskan dari keberadaan halaqa; baik di Makkah atau di al-Azhar Kairo, sampai kemudian  pesantren ini mengalami fungsi yang semakin meluas tidak hanya sebagai tempat kajian intelektual dan spiritual semata, tetapi juga sebagai tempat pengkaderan calon ulama-ulama yang kelak menjadi generasi penerus bagi terbentuknya jaringan ulama antar pesantren, khususnya yang berada di wilayah Cirebon. Kata Kunci: Cirebon, Tarekat Syatariyah, sanad, nasab, jaringan ulama

Abstract

PurposeThe study aimed to understand the concept of Hijrah as perceived by Sekarmaji Marijan Kartosuwiryo or commonly known as Kartosuwiryo who was encouraged to establish the movement of Darul Islam/Tentara Islam Indonesia (DI/TII) as a jihad (struggle) against injustice in all life aspects of Indonesian citizen.MethodThe study applied historical research that comprised of four stages, namely heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The research relied on the primary data of newspaper articles, magazines, journal articles, books, and other written documents. The data were qualitatively analyzed to identify the concept of Hijrah that Kartosuwiryo perceived.Results/FindingsThe study revealed that Kartosuwiryo thought that Indonesia in the colonialization period was similar to the age of ignorance. The human exploitation through slavery and violence triggered to establish DI/TII movement to change Indonesia as Islamic state and implement Islam in all aspects of life.ConclusionThe study concluded that Kartosuwiryo perceived Hijrah as a jihad against injustice implemented through establishing DI/TII movement. It was intended to break the injustice in all life aspects of Indonesian citizens.

Abstract

Abstrak Tempat penelitian dilaksanakan di Masjid Jogokariyan kampung Jogokariyan Kelurahan dan Kecamatan Mantrijeron Kota Yogyakarta. Ada beberapa masalah yang dihadapi oleh masjid-masjid secara keseluruhan yaitu masjid hanya sebatas tempat shalat dan tidak ramah anak. Dengan demikian banyak anak-anak memilih tempat-tempat yang menyenangkan dan memberikan ruang yang bebas untuk mereka. Dari masalah tersebut maka peneliti menemukan salah satu masjid ramah anak yang menyelenggrakan pendidikan berbasis masjid. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif dengan studi kasus dan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa masjid Jogokariyan selain berperan sebagai tempat bersujud dan beribadah, juga berperan aktif sebagai lembaga pendidikan untuk anak-anak. Pendidikan berbasis masjid yang dilaksanakan di masjid Jogokariyan Yogyakarta memberikan pendidikan agama, umum, mental, sejarah dan kepemimpinan semuanya dibungkus atas nama Himpunan Anak-Anak Masjid (HAMAS). Masjid Jogokariyan menjadi masjid ramah anak sehingga mendapatkan kepercayaan dari masyarakat untuk menitipkan dan menyerahkan pendidikan non formalnya di masjid. Prestasi masjid Jogokariyan dalam mengelola dan menyelenggarakan pendidikan ramah anak berbasis masjid dapat pengakuan dari warga Yogyakarta dan Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan, Anak, Masjid Abstract The research was conducted at the Jogokariyan Mosque, Jogokariyan Village, and Mantrijeron District, Yogyakarta City. There are several problems faced by mosques as a whole, namely the mosque is only a place of prayer and is not child-friendly. Thus many children choose places that are fun and provide free space for them. From this problem, the researcher found one child-friendly mosque that held mosque-based education. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with case studies and a qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study can be concluded that the Jogokariyan mosque in addition to acting as a place of prostration and worship, also plays an active role as an educational institution for children. Mosque-based education held at the Jogokariyan mosque in Yogyakarta provides religious, general, mental, historical and leadership education all wrapped up in the name of the Mosque Children's Association (HAMAS). The Jogokariyan Mosque is a child-friendly mosque so that it gains the trust of the community to entrust and submit their non-formal education at the mosque. The achievements of the Jogokariyan mosque in managing and providing mosque-based child-friendly education have been recognized by the residents of Yogyakarta and the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. Abstract

Abstrak Pandemik Covid 19 adalah mempengaruhi semua aspek kehidupan termasuk pendidikan. Lebih dari 370 juta anak-anak dan remaja tidak belajar karena penutupan sementara atau tidak terbatas termasuk di Indonesia sebagai langkah upaya memutus rantai penyebaran covid 19. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana gambaran umum tarekat Idrisiyyah dan bagaimana tarekat ini mampu menjadikan zikir dan awrad untuk membangkitkan psikologis siswa dalam pembelajaran post pandemic sehingga mampu merespons tantangan globalisasi. Syekh Akbar Muhammad Fathurrahman sebagai mursyid Tarekat Idrisiyyah berhasil menjadikan zikir dan award sebagai sarana untuk membangkitkan semangat belajar siswa Pondok Pesantren Al-Idrisiyyah Tasikmalaya masa pandemik covid 19. Manhaj pendidikan tarekat Idrisiyyah dengan metode tasawuf nubuwah juga berhasil membangkitkan semangat entrepreneurship pada para siswa sehingga siap untuk merespons globalisasi. Pendidikan akhlak yang berbasis Tasawuf melalui zikir dan awrad merupakan penawaran model baru dalam dunia pendidikan dengan harapan adanya kerjasama dan dukungan dari semua pihak, baik pemerintah maupun masyarakat terutama para ulama Muslim. Kata Kunci: Sufisme; Pendidikan; Ekonomi; Modernitas Abstract Covid 19 pandemic is affecting all aspects of life including education. More than 370 million children and youth are not studying due to temporary or indefinite closures, including in Indonesia as an effort to break the chain of the spread of covid 19. This epidemic ultimately has an impact on the psychology of students. Psychological trauma experienced by students makes them lose their motivation to learn. Because it is important for every educator to find a solution to revive the psychology of students in learning so that the learning outcomes that have been determined can be successful. This study examines how the general description of the Idrisiyyah congregation is and how this tarekat is able to make remembrance and awrad to awaken students' psychology in post-pandemic learning so that they are able to respond to the challenges of globalization. Sheikh Akbar Muhammad Fathurrahman as a mursyid of the Idrisiyyah Tarekat succeeded in making remembrance and awards as a means to arouse the enthusiasm of learning for the students of Al-Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School in Tasikmalaya during the covid 19 pandemic. respond to globalization.
