Abstract

In the end of August 2016, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in this case the Committee of the Correction of Qur'anic Writing (Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf Al-Qur'an) launched a digital Qur'an product called Qur'an Kemenag. At present there are only more than 25 thousand active users. This research wants to find out the factors that influence people's preferences in the use of Qur'an Kemenag's application. This study uses a mixed method, namely qualitative and quantitative. The population of this study is the muslim community of smartphone owners and users of the digital Qur'an. The selection of respondents was done by purposive sampling, conducted in 14 cities in Indonesia with a total of 50 respondents per city, and 3 informants for in-depth interviews. This research shows that Qur'an Kemenag is not widely used by muslim communities in Indonesia. They use the digital Al-Qur'an application developed by other parties more than that being developed by Ministry of Religious Affairs. Factor that influences people's preferences for using an Al-Qur'an digital application are features and complete content. In addition to that, the facilities provided are not only the Qur'an, but also multifunctional needs.

This research uses an interpretive qualitative descriptive method with a literary anthropology approach. The focus of the analysis rests on local cultural values, both expressed and implied, by looking at the principle of benefit in the lives of Minang people and its impact as an enricher of national culture as a common property. The analysis data comes from literature studies, namely in the form of narrative text and dialogue between characters in the short story. The data analysis technique uses narrative analysis techniques. The findings from this research show that first, the language system in this short story contains several Minang vocabulary words that are synonymous with Indonesian; second, the knowledge system is knowledge of oneself, knowledge of people, knowledge of nature, and knowledge of God; third, the religious system is obedience in worship; fourth, the art system and livelihood system are not depicted in the short story; fifth, the technological system is the form of a gadang house; seventh, the social organization system is matrilineal and customary in consensus. All of this is certainly useful and can be a positive intake for students or the younger generation in strengthening the character of the nation's children.

Abstract

Traditional pesantren architecture has yet to be defined by a specific building type as it encompasses both educational and residential buildings. Many researchers explore the curriculum and its educational issues, but they often overlook the fact that all activities are closely related to where they occur. The morphology of building complexes identifies the history of buildings, including the reason for their development. This paper explores the morphology of building complexes in traditional pesantren to analyze how far the development of buildings has progressed from the old traditional pesantren since its first existence in Indonesia in general and relate it to vernacular architecture around it. A pesantren in Wajo, South Sulawesi, two pesantrens in East Kalimantan, and a pesantren in Waikabubak, East Nusa Tenggara, are the case studies used to explore the morphology. The research found that all morphologies of traditional pesantren still refer to the traditional pesantren in general. However, there are some modifications because of the needs of the pesantren's capacity and the location's natural setting. Contextualizing pesantren around the community and vernacular architecture is not the main important point for the development because recently they should prioritize santris room occupancy and more accessible building construction strategies.

Abstract

Abstract Balik's traditional cuisine has high historical and social value, yet is poorly known outside the local community. This challenge is compounded by modernization and lifestyle changes that threaten the survival of these culinary traditions. The lack of documentation and research on the recipes, cooking techniques and cultural values of Balik cuisine further exacerbates the situation, making this great potential untapped in tourism development in the nation's capital. Therefore, an in-depth exploration is needed to understand and promote the traditional Balik cuisine as an integral part of the tourism strategy in the nation's capital. This research aims to explore the culinary of Suku Balik and its contribution to tourism development in the nation's capital. This research uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods, which involves participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and literature analysis. Previous literature shows that traditional cuisine plays an important role in promoting cultural identity and attracting tourists, but there have not been many studies that specifically focus on the Balik Tribe's cuisine in the context of the development of the National Capital. This research differs by emphasizing the specific context of the National Capital City and a holistic approach to culture and tourism. The results show that Suku Balik cuisine has great potential to be developed as a culinary tourism attraction in the National Capital, with its rich flavors, unique local ingredients, and interesting cultural stories. However, there are challenges in terms of preserving traditional recipes, preparing human resources, and marketing. Recommendations from this study are as follows. (1) Training and education for local communities to maintain and develop traditional culinary skills. (2) Collaboration between the government, tourism actors, and local communities to create attractive culinary tour packages. (3) Marketing strategies that emphasize the uniqueness of the Balik Tribe's culinary. Suggestions for future research are to conduct a more in-depth study of the economic impact of traditional culinary tourism development and further explore the potential for collaboration between regions to promote the culinary archipelago.
