Abstract

The purpose of this research was the perceptions of Entrepreneurial Student Program at the Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO) and effectiveness of the programme in improving the Entrepreneurial ability of Student entrepreneurship students. The population in this research was all the UHO Student get Entrepreneurial Student Program and has undergone such business in the field of agribusiness which totaled 54 people, which was then as a census so that respondents in this research totalled 54 respondents. The analysis of the data used, namely the analysis of Interval Classes with the help of the program SPSS. The results showed that Students Entrepreneurial Program at the Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO) fairly well implemented, This was apparent from consisted of indicators Entrepreneurial Student Program entirely situated on the category was being i.e. the mean 75,00 %. The effectiveness of the Entrepreneurial Students Program in the Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO) in Self-employment entrepreneurship capabilities of students quite effective It can be seen from all the indicators of effectiveness PMW located on the composition of the was being the mean 69 %.

Abstract

Feasibility of the Intercropping Systems of Maize (Zea mays L.) and Peanuts (Arachis hypogea L.) in Wamelai Village, Lawa Subdistrict, West Muna District" Under the supervision of H. Saediman as Lead Advisor and Weka Gusmiarty Abdullah, as Co-Advisor. The purpose of this study was to assess the returns and to ascertain the feasibility, of intercropping systems of maize and peanut in Wamelai Village, Lawa Sub-District, West Muna District. The data used in this study include primary data and secondary data. Data were collected through observation, interviews, recording, and documentation. Variables being investigated consisted of farmers’ characteristics (age, level of education and household size), size of landholding (ha), production costs, revenue, net returns, and feasibility of the intercropping systems. Data were analyzed using cost and returns analysis and R/C ratio. The research results showed that the intercropping systems of maize (Zea mays L.) and peanut (Arachis hypogea L.) in Wamelai village, Lawa sub-district, west Muna district was profitable with the net returns of Rp4,084,887 per cropping season. The intercropping of maize and peanut in the study village was feasible based on the R/C ratio of 4.84. Keywords; farming, feasibility, intercropping, maize, peanuts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the shape and existence of local wisdom in the development of sago and to analyze the development strategy of sago processing based on local wisdom in the Angata District, Konawe Selatan Regency. The research variables consisted of forms of local wisdom, strength factors, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to the development of sago processing. Data were analyzed with SWOT analysis. The results showed that the form and existence of local wisdom in sago processing activities in the Angata District that were still maintained were the involvement of workers, the selection of sago tree stands, and the destruction of pellets. Meanwhile, the strategy of managing sago crops based on local wisdom in Angata District can be done by utilizing the potential of land availability, expanding the network and market absorption, forming capital cooperation, adopting technology, optimizing income and public awareness, the assertiveness of sago regulation, improving the quality of human resources farmers, as well as the preparation of instructors/advisors who are competent in the field of sago management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of the palm sugar business to farmers' Income in Benua District, South Konawe Regency. This research was conducted in Benua District, South Konawe Regency. Where all respondent of the population is used as research samples. The variables in this study are total production costs, revenues, income palm sugar business, income other than palm sugar, farmers' total income, and income contribution. The analysis used is income analysis and contribution analysis, and the research results show that farmers' income from the palm sugar business has an average income of IDR1.579.727 per month. The contribution from the palm sugar business to total revenue is 43%. Meanwhile, 57% of farmers' income comes from non-palm sugar businesses, including cacao cultivation, patchouli, corn, pepper, and oil palm.

Abstract

The research objectives were to determine: (1) the agricultural model development strategy of Agribusiness Consulting Clinic; and (2) the internal and external factors of Agricultural Extension Centers to develop the agricultural extension model of Agribusiness Consulting Clinic. The data collection was conducted in sub-District Ranomeeto Barat, District Konawe Selatan in 2010. The Samples were the extension workers and the key person of the farmer group. The analysis SWOT used to analyze the data to reach the research objective. The results showed that: (1) the strategy that used was to develop the model Agribusiness Consulting Clinic were (a) improving service Agricultural Extension Centers as providers of agricultural technology to increase resource extension, (b) improving crop productivity in the region by making Agricultural Extension Centers as an Agribusiness Consulting Center, (c) improving access to information of agribusiness through farmer group-based approach, and (d) improving education facilities and infrastructure in supporting the implementation of farming technology; and (2) the internal factors consisted of: (a) strength: central government support and farm community, the Agricultural Extension Centers location close to farmland, extension workers who are skilled and experienced, the availability of demonstration garden, and institutional peasant (farmer groups); and (b) weakness: limited of extension means, limited field laboratory, lack of electricity and internet networks, and the lower of farmers participation. While the external factors consisted of (a) opportunities: demands of advanced agricultural technology, market presence of agribusiness product, and horticultural planting areas; and (b) threats: globalization, price instability, lack operational funds and government policy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) differences in the production of lowland rice farmers between those who adopted direct seed planting and transplanting technology in Puuroda Village, Baula Subdistrict, Kolaka Regency and (2) The gap in income between lowland rice farmers who adopted direct seed planting technology and transplanting in Puuroda Village, Baula District, Kolaka Regency. This research was conducted in Puuroda Village, Baula District, Kolaka Regency with a total sample of 72 respondents. Data collection techniques in this study are observation methods carried out by direct observation of the rice farming activities that are the object of research. Structured interview methods using questionnaires and direct observations in the field are used as primary data collection techniques. Librarian recording or study techniques are used as secondary data collection techniques. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the office of the Puuroda Village, as well as the results of previous studies that supported data analysis. Data analysis used in this study was an analysis of different test of production and income and Gini Ratio Index. The results of the study showed that (1) the production and income of wetland rice using Tabela technology and Tapin technology were significantly different, where the production and revenue of Tabela technology were higher than that of Tapin technology. (2) The level of the income gap between lowland rice farmers who adopt Tabela and Tapin technology was at moderate levels of inequality.

Abstract

Risk and uncertainty were agriculture’s characteristics, especially rice farming. Therefore a farmer must be sure in behavior toward the risk and uncertainty in farming. There were three kinds of risk behavior, namely: risk lovers, risk-averse, and risk neutral. The aims of this research were : (1) to analyze the risk behavior of wet rice field farmer, and (2) to determine social economic factors that influence the risk behavior of wet rice field farmer. Simple random was implemented in sampling method to get about 67 wet rice field farmer. Quadratic utility function analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were implemented in this research. Research findings show that almost wet rice field farmer has risk neutral behavior, namely 62.7%. There were 19.4% wet rice field farmer by the risk lovers behavior, and the remain 17.9% wet rice field farmer have risk-averse behavior. The risk behavior of the wet rice field farmer was influenced by age, a total of family duties, land area, and family labor. The increasing of farmer’s age and a total of family duties will increase the farmer’s loves to his farm risk, while the increase of family labor and the land area will increase the farmer’s averse to his farm risk.

Abstract

This study aims to know the productivity of clove farming, to know the income of loving farming, to analyze the relationship of land productivity and clove farm income in Waode Buri Village North Kulisusu Sub-District North Buton District. The population in this research is all clove farmers in Waode Buri Village North Kulisusu Sub-District North Buton District which is clove farm and has no work outside of farming which is 70 farmers. The sampling technique in this study was conducted by the census (Saturated Sampling), thus the number of clove farmer sample as much as 70 farmers. The results of this study showed that the average productivity of clove farming in Waode Buri Village North Kulisusu Sub-DistrictNorth Buton District is 0.29 ton/ha. The average income of clove farming in Waode Buri Village North Kulisusu Sub-District North Buton District is Rp 13,305,338.36/ha/year. The relationship between the two variables of land productivity and income on clove farming in Waode Buri Village North Kulisusu Sub-District North Buton District has strong correlation coefficient value because of r > 0,5. North Buton District has strong correlation coefficient value because of r> 0,5.

Abstract

This study is motivated by jipang cake which still uses rice as a raw material in its production process is found in the home industry, so it is still unknown how much-added value is cultivated. This study aims to determine the added value obtained from processing into jipang cake in the business of "Jipang Gareng Lutfi" in Moolo Indah Village, Tinanggea District, South Konawe Regency. This study was conducted in the home industry "Jipang Gareng Lutfi" in Moolo Indah Village, Tinanggea Sub District, South Konawe District. The location of this study was chosen purposively, where the study’s subject was the business owner "Jipang Gareng Lutfi". Primary data was collected by a direct interview that used questionnaire. Data were analyzed by Hayami method. The results showed that the added value of jipang cake in the home industry business "Jipang Gareng Lutfi" was Rp 14.283/kg in one production and added value in one-kilogram raw material was Rp 714,15. The magnitude added value of the jipang cake is due to the large difference between the value of the product and the price of raw materials (in the form of rice) and the conversion factor. The product value is Rp 32.403 while the raw material price is only Rp 8,500 with a conversion factor of 1,52. This condition has an impact on the value-added ratio of the business "Jipang Gareng Lutfi" of 44,08% (high category). The results of the study also showed the benefits of labor Rp 6.177 with a share of labor of 43,25%. Thus, it can be seen the profit of the home industry “Jipang Gareng Lutfi" amounting to Rp 8.106 or with the level of profit 56,75%.

Abstract

Sago cracker products are only marketed from shop to shop and even from stall to stall, this is what makes Sago Cracker MSMEs still unable to market them widely. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of promotion and marketing via Facebook social media on the volume and sales value of sago crackers. Data analysis uses difference test analysis/T test. The results of the research show that the use of the Facebook marketplace feature on the sales value of Anissa sago cracker products has had a significant influence on the MSME owners of Anissa sago crackers who previously had a weekly income of IDR 960,000 before using the marketplace. Facebook and after using the Facebook marketplace, their weekly income is around IDR 1,395,000. The difference before and after using the Facebook marketplace has a real effect so that the Facebook application using the Facebook marketplace feature is effective for MSME owners to market Anissa sago cracker products. The level of consumer confidence in the sale of sago cracker products on the Facebook marketplace is 95%.
