Abstract

Although critical thinking is vital in 21st-century learning, mathematics classes often emphasise procedures over reasoning. Few studies have explored how students’ characteristics (learning styles, thinking habits, and cognitive abilities) interact with contextual learning approaches such as Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI). This study aimed to describe the students’ critical thinking using PMRI as a learning approach, specifically by analysing how these abilities vary based on students’ learning styles, thinking habits, and cognitive ability levels. The context of water pH was used to explore the measures of central tendency. Students were observed based on their learning styles, thinking habits, and cognitive abilities. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with 29 eighth-grade students from junior high school in Palembang. Data were collected through tests, questionnaires (learning styles and thinking habits), and the participants’ academic records. The data were analysed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana’s model, which involves data reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The results show that female students tend to possess “quite critical category”, while male students also show “quite critical category” category when analysed by learning style, but lower in thinking habits and cognitive ability. This implies that teaching should consider students' differences to support the development of critical thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to design a contextual learning trajectory using water pH as an anchor to help student’s understand central tendency concepts, including mean, median, and mode. The research employed a design research approach within a qualitative descriptive framework, consisting of three main stages: preliminary design, design experiment, and retrospective analysis. In the preliminary design stage, a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) was developed and aligned with the learning objectives, ensuring that the tasks were suitable for fostering students' understanding of the central tendency concepts. The design experiment involved data collection from a pilot experiment with 6 students and teaching experiment with 29 eighth-grade students at the junior high school. Data was gathered using instruments, including student worksheets, video recordings, field notes, and test. The data collected from students’ responses were analyzed to assess their understanding of the concepts. In the retrospective analysis stage, the Actual Learning Trajectory (ALT) was compared with the predicted HLT to identify any discrepancies and assess the effectiveness of the learning activities. The results showed that integrating the PMRI approach with Project-Based Learning (PjBL) successfully engaged students and contributed to their conceptual development, reinforcing the importance of using contextual problems such as water pH in teaching statistical concepts.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce Android-based Virtual Reality learning media for mathematics learning that is valid, practical and effective. The development procedure uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. Students at SMP Negeri 4 Tempilang Class VII 1 were the research subjects. The data collection techniques used were unstructured interviews, questionnaires, and student learning outcomes. This research uses descriptive data analysis on one variable, namely the quality of Android-based Virtual Reality learning media. The results of the research and data analysis obtained a questionnaire assessment from the three validators of 91.8% which was included in the very valid criteria, the average percentage of practicality was 90.7% which was included in the very practical criteria, and effectiveness was obtained at 82.6% which was included in the criteria very effective with 19 students who completed and 4 students who did not complete. Therefore, the researchers concluded that Android-based Virtual Reality learning media in junior high school mathematics learning has proven to be valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan efek potensial media pembelajaran macromedia flash 8 pada materi garis singgung lingkaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evalution). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, angket dan tes. Objek penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran macromedia flash 8 berbasis contextual teaching and learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukan media yang dikembangkan dinyatakan sangat valid dengan skor rata-rata 91,6%. Media dinyatakan praktis berdasarkan penilaian dari angket respon siswa dengan skor 86,6%. Dinyatakan memiliki efek potensial dengan kriteria sangat tinggi berdasarkan hasil tes belajar siswa dengan persentase sebesar 86%. Produk yang telah dihasilkan adalah media menggunakan pendekatan CTL dan layak digunakan pada pembelajaran

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to create an E-Module based on conceptual understanding of linear programming that is valid, practical, and understands the potential effects of E-Modules. The Research and Development (RD) method was used in this study. This study employs the ADDIE model development procedure, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The E-Module is declared "valid" based on the assessments given by three validators with four aspects assessed, namely content feasibility, presentation feasibility, language feasibility, and graphic feasibility, with a total percentage of 79.8 percent. The E-Module was regarded "highly practical" based on the results of student response surveys in the small and large groups, which received 83.8 percent and 81.5 percent, respectively. Based on the findings of the teacher response questionnaire, the E-Module was declared "highly practical" with a score of 92 percent. Based on the student learning outcomes test, the e-module is determined to have a "good" potential effect with a score of 66.7 percent.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan E-Modul berbasis pemahaman konsep pada materi program linear yang valid, praktis dan mengetahui efek potensial E-Modul. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Research and Development (RD). Penelitian ini mengggunakan prosedur pengembangan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah E-Modul dinyatakan “valid” berdasarkan penilaian yang diberikan oleh tiga validator dengan empat aspek yang dinilai yaitu kelayakan isi, kelayakan penyajian, kelayakan bahasa, dan kelayakan kegrafisan dengan jumlah persentase sebesar 79,8%. E-Modul dinyatakan “sangat praktis” berdasarkan hasil angket respon peserta didik pada kelompok kecil (Small Group) dan kelompok besar yang masing-masing mendapat persentase sebesar 83,8% dan 81,5%. Serta E-Modul dinyatakan “sangat praktis” berdasarkan hasil angket respon guru dengan persentase sebesar 92%.  E-modul dinyatakan memiliki efek potensial “baik” berdasarkan tes hasil belajar peserta didik yang dengan persentase sebesar 66,7%.

Abstract

Selecta capita of mathematics is a subject that discusses algebra, geometry, and high school calculus material. Students face obstacles during the learning process: misconceptions about studying selecta capita of mathematics and the lack of electronic textbooks. Therefore, it is necessary to have electronic textbooks that can help students to solve problems by prioritizing independence in the learning process. This study aims to produce a selecta capita of mathematics e-books for SHS on a reasonable and practical contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach and to see the effectiveness of the e-book that has been developed. The development of selecta capita of mathematics e-book for SHS on CTL approach refers to ADDIE development model. The instruments used to determine the quality of a developed e-book are (1) questionnaires to measure the validity, (2) student response questionnaires to measure practicality, and (3) learning outcomes test questions. The results showed that selecta capita of mathematics e-books for SHS based on the CTL approach developed was good quality and could be used in learning.Kapita selekta matematika merupakan mata kuliah yang membahas materi aljabar, geometri dan kalkulus sekolah menengah atas. Salah satu kendala yang dihadapi peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran yaitu terdapat miskonsepsi dalam mempelajari kapita selekta matematika serta masih minimnya buku ajar elektronik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan adanya bahan ajar elektronik yang dapat membantu peserta didik memecahkan permasalahan dengan mengutamakan kemandirian dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-book kapita selekta matematika SMA berbasis pendekatan contextual teaching and learning (CTL) yang valid dan praktis, serta melihat keefektifan e-book yang telah dikembangkan. Pengembangan e-book kapita selekta matematika SMA berbasis pendekatan CTL mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kualitas e-book yang dikembangkan, yakni: (1) angket untuk mengukur kevalidan; (2) angket respon peserta didik untuk mengukur kepraktisan; (3) soal tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan e-book kapita selekta matematika SMA berbasis pendekatan CTL yang telah dikembangkan berkualitas baik dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran.
