Abstract

The learning process carried out by teachers does not actively involve students, this is because the learning models and media applied by teachers have not been implemented optimally. Based on these problems, the right solution is needed by applying a learning model that can activate students. One of them is by applying the Group Investigation learning model assisted by Digital Mind Map (GI-DMM). The aim of the research was to find out the effect the Group Investigation model learning assisted by Digital Mind Map (GI-DMM) to the learning outcomes of students' affective domains. This research method is a true experiment with a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design research design. The population in this study were all of class X IPA. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling technique by means of a lot system, experimental class and control class. The research instrument for the affective domain was in the form of observation sheets for students' attitudes during the learning process. Data analysis techniques used hypothesis testing (t-test). The results of the study in the affective domain of the experimental class obtained an average value of 93.00 and that of the control class was 88.53. Thus it can be concluded that through the application of the Digital Mind Map-assisted Group Investigation Model (GI-DMM) it can improve learning outcomes in the affective domain of students.

Abstract

Understanding scientific culture (USC) and developing problem-solving skills (PSS) are important elements in facing complex global challenges in the digital era. This study examines the effects of creativity (CRV), communication (CMN), and digital literacy (DGL) on USC and PSS in biology students at Universitas Negeri Makassar, Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat, and Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika in Indonesia. A cross-sectional quantitative survey approach was used with a structured online questionnaire, and data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The results showed that CRV had a significant direct effect on USC and PSS. CMN also had an effect on USC. However, the direct effect of CMN on PSS was not significant, indicating that its role in improving problem-solving skills was mediated by USC. In contrast, DGL showed a weaker direct effect on PSS and USC, indicating a less dominant role than creativity and communication. These findings emphasize the importance of a synergistic educational approach that integrates CRV, CMN, and DGL to support USC and PSS. Emphasis on creativity as a transformative tool and communication as a collaborative medium in scientific contexts is highly recommended, while DGL needs to be further developed to effectively complement these competencies. Future research needs to explore these relationships in different contexts to refine educational strategies and address evolving challenges.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low student learning outcomes caused by the learning process that is not optimal. The application of discussion methods by teachers is less effective so that interaction and cooperation between students are minimal, resulting in low understanding of the material. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the application of the Gallery Walk learning technique on the summative assessment of Biology students of grade XI Phase F at SMAN 2 Lubuk Sikaping. This study uses an experimental method with a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The study population was all students of grade XI Phase F of SMAN 2 Lubuk Sikaping in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year totaling five classes, with a sample of two classes (XIF1 and XIF2) selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a multiple-choice question, while data analysis used a t-test. The results showed that the average summative assessment of the experimental class was 78.54 and the control class was 73.73. The t-test produced a t count of 1.86 > t table 1.66, so H1 was accepted. This proves the positive influence of the applied learning techniques. Thus, it can be concluded that the Gallery Walk technique can improve the summative learning outcomes of Biology students of class XI Phase F at SMAN 2 Lubuk Sikaping in the 2024/2025 academic year.
