Abstract

Every company aims to maximize its profit to survive and maintain business growth. However, it has to allocate some of the profit to the community development in the form of corporate social responsibility. Along with the importance of the development of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), many companies consider the social effects of their supply chain activities. In this paper, we address a problem determining the optimal order allocation, carrier selection, and the amount of CSR in a single product, multi-suppliers, and multiple periods environment. A goal programming model was developed to solve the problem by considering all-unit quantity discounts, the lateness of deliveries, and rejections. LINGO 18.0 was used to solve the model. The results of optimization show that all the goals are achieved. Based on the sensitivity analysis results, the proposed model is relatively insensitive to the goals of the profit and social value unless at the increases of 24% of both goals. For the goals of defect items and late delivery items, both goals affect the objective function when each goal is decreased. Hence, the decision-maker has to be careful in setting the goals.

Abstract

Home health care (HHC) is a health service provided by a hospital so that patients can be taken care of at their homes. Assigning multiple caregivers to serve patients during working hours is one of the main issues in HHC planning. In this study, multi-objective mixed-integer nonlinear programming was formulated for HHC daily planning. The model aims to simultaneously minimize total service time, total traveled distance, total cost comprising the opportunity loss from unvisited patients and penalty cost due to the violation of gender preference, and total carbon emissions generated by the caregiver’s vehicle. Using real data from Dr. Moewardi Hospital, a case study was provided in order to show the applicability of the model. The model can be utilized to assist the HHC coordinator in determining the optimal schedule and routing of HHC visits.

Abstract

In the competitive e-commerce landscape, understanding customer experience is critical for businesses to enhance satisfaction and drive sales, particularly for tablet products. This study provides in-depth insights into customer experiences with tablet products on the AliExpress platform by analyzing 4,469 online reviews through sentiment analysis and topic modeling. The sentiment analysis reveals that while a significant portion of reviews are neutral to slightly negative, the overall sentiment is positive, indicating general satisfaction. Topic modeling uncovers key themes, with positive discussions centered around fast delivery, value for money, and children's enjoyment, while negative themes highlight issues with screen performance, customs processes, and unexpected taxes, particularly for Brazilian customers. Temporal analysis shows dynamic spikes in topics like fast delivery and cost-benefit during specific periods. These findings provide actionable guidance for businesses and manufacturers to optimize tablet quality, logistics, and marketing strategies to meet the needs and preferences of their target audience better.
