Abstract

This article critically examined Indonesia’s policies to mitigate and adapt to climate change within the global climate regime and local political dynamics. A qualitative method and a multilevel governance approach were utilized, emphasizing the dispersion of power both vertically among various levels of governance and horizontally among different quasi-governmental and non-governmental organizations and actors. The analysis unveiled that Indonesia’s climate change policies have involved supranational governance facilitated by global-level regimes and institutions. The government has played a strategic role in aligning itself with these global environmental regimes by implementing laws and policy measures to limit greenhouse gas emissions, control deforestation rates, and address forest degradation. Achieving these governance tasks involved active participation from local governments, municipalities, and non-state actors such as businesses and the community.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the main pillars in the national economy because it makes a significant contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), absorbs labor, and is the main livelihood for most Indonesians, especially in rural areas. Among various agricultural subsectors, vegetables have an important role as a commodity that not only meets the needs of household consumption, but also becomes a major source of income for farmers. However, vegetable farmers are often faced with serious problems that directly impact their well-being. One of the main problems is price instability. During the harvest, the abundance of production causes the price of vegetables to fall drastically so that it is not able to cover the capital costs that have been incurred. This is experienced by vegetable farmers in Ngablak District, Magelang Regency, where the selling price of vegetables at harvest time is very cheap, often even below production costs, so that farmers suffer big losses. Reflecting on these problems, this community service activity is present with the theme "we buy, we distribute." This concept is carried out by buying vegetables directly from local farmers at a more decent price than the market price during the harvest. The vegetables that have been purchased are then not resold for profit, but are distributed for free to people who really need them, especially residents in Kepanjen Hamlet, Trimulyo, Sleman. Thus, this activity provides dual benefits, namely helping farmers to continue to earn a decent income and supporting community food security through the distribution of vegetables for free. This program is also a form of social solidarity between farmers and the community, as well as a simple but real solution in dealing with the problem of fluctuations in the price of agricultural products.

Abstract

Abstract The international economy certainly cannot be separated from the United States economy. The United States of America is the country with the largest economy in the world. Within the framework of Neoliberalism, the economy cannot be separated from state intervention. The state can carry out various policies with the aim of achieving the national interest and profit as much as possible. This paper is intended to obtain the United States' efforts to build Coca Colonization from the point of view of the economic paradigm of capitalism and neoliberalism. Coca-Cola itself is a drink that comes from America where it has been around since 1886 and is the number one coke in the world. The existence of Coca-Cola itself already existed during the World War period, where Coca-Cola came along with the presence of United States troops and there were 60 Coca-Cola bottling factories around the world which were started when there was an American military operation. Coca-Cola is considered an American culture and an unofficial ambassador for the American lifestyle itself. Using literature studies through various news, documentation, scientific journals, this research resulted in the United States' efforts including building nation branding. This nation branding is very strong so that local products are difficult to escape from the influence of product colonization instilled by the United States globally. Keywords: United States of America, Coca Colonization, Nation branding, Coca-Cola

Abstract

The Convention on the Rights of the Child is a regime that exists as a humanitarian effort in the context of realizing protection and becoming a real guarantee of children's rights in the world. This regime was conceived as a convention since the end of World War I, in which the war has left sadness and trauma for the global community. The Convention on the Rights of the Child emerged at the instigation of women activists and wanted to draw world attention to the plight of children who were victims of war. In its development, the CRC regime was later ratified as an international regime by the United Nations on November 20, 1989 and has coercive power on September 2, 1990. To this day, CRC has been ratified by 196 countries in the world, including all ASEAN member countries. In its implementation, ASEAN has become an international organization with a regional orientation in Southeast Asia that focuses on upholding children's rights. ASEAN established various blueprints to encourage countries in Southeast Asia to work together to protect children. So far, all ASEAN countries have implemented CRC in positive law and various strategic programs in their countries. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of a regime in encouraging real efforts of a country in implementing a regime. In line with the issue of protecting children's rights in Southeast Asia, this research is encouraged to examine the effectiveness of the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Southeast Asia using Stokke's theory of regime effectiveness.
