Abstract

Online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is an alternative solution to keep the learning process running, including in universities. This study aims to find out what learning methods with group investigation (GI) methods are, which can improve the quality of the online learning experience and generate flow. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental design, namely between participant posttest only control group design. This study compares the effect of using two variants of the Group Investigation method on the flow experience felt by students when learning online. Participants in this study amounted to 27 people (96.3% women). The mean age of the participants was 21.4 years with a standard deviation of 1.12. The results showed that the use of two variants of the Group Investigation method gave the effect of flow with values that tended to be the same. The implication is that the two variants of the Group Investigation method can be used in online learning because they significantly produce student flow experiences in online learning.

Abstract

Abstract. Siblings play a vital role in the family system throughout life, including within families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This study aims to examine the quality of sibling relationships in families raising children with ASD through a literature review approach. The findings indicate that the limitations experienced by children with ASD, particularly in communication and behavior, often create challenges for their typically developing siblings, such as emotional stress, difficulties in social interaction, feelings of embarrassment in public settings, and an overwhelming sense of responsibility. Nevertheless, many siblings also demonstrate strong expressions of affection, empathy, and acceptance toward their sibling with ASD. These findings highlight the importance of the family and broader social environment in providing adequate social support. Thus, understanding siblings’ experiences is expected to foster the development of more harmonious and supportive family relationships.

Abstract

Students who receive education at elementary schools consist of regular students and students with special needs, including slow learners. With limited cognitive capacity, students who are slow learners will lack the process of developing general concepts or ideas that underlie many school assignments, especially in language aspects, including reading skills. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the repeated reading method on the reading fluency of slow learners in grade 3 in state elementary schools. Reading fluency will be measured by the subject's speed when reading the entire pretest-posttest text and calculating correct words per minute (WCPM) when the subject reads the pretest-posttest text in the first minute. The research method used in this research is quantitative with a single-case research design, namy the ABA design. The sample in this research was taken based on a non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling. The repeated reading method given to 3 slow learning students in class III at the Griba State Elementary School for 12 days and 5 repetitions of reading the text and 5 times the pronunciation of words that were misread, was able to increase reading speed and accuracy significantly (0.023 and 0.038) based on tests paired sample t-test statistics. So H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. In line with this, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the repeated reading method on reading fluency in slow learners in state elementary schools.
