Abstract

Internet users have various purposes or motives for using internet service. Furthermore, internet usage proliferated by 40 percent amidst the COVID-19 pandemic social confinements. Interestingly, there is a tendency to do activities with the internet when under load or overload circumstance. This study aims to look at these two contradictory conditions and determine whether when someone is in a state of the tendency to be bored or depressed due to stressful conditions becomes a predictor for using the internet maladaptively. This study uses a quantitative approach with an accidental sampling technique. We recruited 235 internet users from adolescents to middle adulthood. The result showed boredom proneness and frustration intolerance predicted 34.4% of internet users' compulsive internet use. This study also showed a more significant impact of boredom to compulsive internet use rather than frustration intolerance. These findings indicate that people tend to use the internet more frequently in under load than overload conditions.

Abstract

This research aimed to obtain a description explanation about negative automatic thoughts that appear on Bandung junior high school students who are bullied. The research also described the automatic negative thoughts that was based on factors affected by bullying (from CATS questionnaire). The research involved 1261 samples of the students of  5 junior high school in Bandung. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic analysis. The results showed as many as 48 students belonging to students who experience the action of bullying with high frequency and as many as 333 students experience the act of bullying in the medium frequency. Then, based on the results of CATS questionnaires, about 8.3% of students, show that they had higher frequency the occurrence of negative automatic thoughts. It means they had a negative beliefs scheme and often experience helplessness in their daily lives. The factor analysis showed that social threat was the most contributive factor in generating negative automatic thoughts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between parental mediation and addiction in late childhood. Participants of this research were sixty 5th-grade primary school students in Bandung. The instruments were questionnaire compiled based on the theory of Parental Mediation from Livingstone (2008) and Internet Addiction from Griffith (2015) and depth interview on some parents. The data was analyzed using the Spearman Rank. The findings showed that there was a correlation between parental mediation and internet addiction. Parents used mediation behavior to reduce children's internet activity. However, the children perceived it has no impact on them.

Abstract

The early detection of children with special needs is very important for educators, as they require special handling in the learning process so that they can develop optimally. The first important level for early detection is the early childhood education level. Early childhood teachers become agents who play a major role of early detection. Problems that occur due to late diagnosis of children with special needs often lead to learning and behavioural problems. If not handled properly, these disturbances will continue to the next level of further education. Knowledge of various types of disorders and early intervention in children with special needs must be the responsibility of early childhood education teachers to reduce the negative effects of any disruption that may occur. In order to assist teachers in early detection, this paper presents a study related to various developmental disorders that occur in children with special needs and the skills, techniques and steps that are needed for early detection.

Abstract

Abstract. Parenting for early childhood-age children is the challenges and pressures tasks of the parents so that if the parents is unable to handle these challenges and pressures, the parents will be vulnerable to parenting stress. Therefore, parents need a parenting concept that can regulate parenting stress. Mindful parenting is a conscious parenting concept by enjoying the moment with the child, accepting the child's condition as it is, and not giving judgment. Mindful parenting is considered to reduce parenting stress and parents can build more positive parenting. This study aims to examine the effect of mindful parenting on parenting stress in parents who have early childhood. This study used a quantitative approach with a total of 136 research participants, which were divided into 122 mothers and 14 fathers aged 21-60 years. Single stage stratified random sampling was used to the collected the data. Mindful parenting was measured using the Mindfulness in Parenting Questionnaire (MIPQ) with a reliability of .920, while parenting stress was measured using the Parental Stress Scale (PSS) with a reliability of .718. The result of the hypothesis using simple linear regression analysis showed that there’s a negative role of mindful parenting towards parenting stress in parent of early childhood-age children (R2 = .059 ; p =.005 < .05). When parents implement mindful parenting, it can make the parenting stress experienced low. There are also differences in mindful parenting and parenting stress on fathers and mothers who have early childhood-age children based on sociodemography. Abstrak. Mengasuh anak usia dini merupakan tugas orang tua yang penuh dengan tantangan dan tekanan sehingga jika orang tua tidak mampu menangani tantangan dan tekanan ini, maka orang tua akan rentan untuk mengalami stres pengasuhan. Maka dari itu, diperlukan sebuah konsep pengasuhan yang dapat meregulasi stres pengasuhan. Mindful parenting adalah sebuah konsep pengasuhan yang berkesadaran dengan menikmati momen bersama anak, menerima kondisi anak apa adanya, dan tidak memberi penghakiman. Mindful parenting dianggap dapat membuat stres pengasuhan menjadi lebih rendah dan orang tua dapat membangun pengasuhan yang lebih positif. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menguji pengaruh mindful parenting terhadap stres pengasuhan pada orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jumlah partisipan penelitian sebanyak 136 orang, yang terbagi atas 122 ibu dan 14 ayah yang berusia 21-60 tahun. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah single stage stratified random sampling. Mindful parenting diukur menggunakan Mindfulness in Parenting Questionnaire (MIPQ) dengan reabilitas .920, sementara stres pengasuhan diukur menggunakan Parental Stress Scale (PSS) dengan reabilitas .718. Hasil hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peran negatif pada mindful parenting terhadap stres pengasuhan pada orang tua (R2 = .059 ; p = .005 < .05). Ketika orang tua mengimplementasikan mindful parenting maka dapat membuat stres pengasuhan yang dialami menjadi rendah. Terdapat juga perbedaan mindful parenting dan stres pengasuhan pada ayah dan ibu yang memiliki anak usia dini berdasarkan sosiodemografis.

Abstract

Abstract. One of the developmental tasks of emerging adulthood is to explore identity in the workplace. Same as the task of fresh graduates to find their work identity. On the other hand, fresh graduates experience feelings of anxiety due to the increasing number of unemployment and job competition, are unable to establish a settled personal identity, and tend not to want to discuss development tasks they have to deal with. These concerns illustrate that most of them are not ready to face the world of work, which in Super's definition (1977) is said to be a low level of career maturity. Failure to develop a career identity has been found in several studies to be associated with psychological well-being . The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between career maturity and psychological well-being on fresh graduates in Bandung City. The method used is a correlational design with a quantitative approach with the number of participants as many as 200 people. The measuring instrument used aspects of Super career maturity by Dewi Sartika (2003) which was tried out again and Ryff's Psychological Well-being Scale using the Spearman Rank correlation test analysis technique. The results of the analysis show a positive relationship between career maturity and psychological well-being on fresh graduates in Bandung City (rs = 0.728), meaning that the higher the career maturity on fresh graduates, the higher their psychological well-being. Abstrak. Salah satu tugas perkembangan emerging adulthood adalah mengeksplorasi identitas di bidang pekerjaan. Hal tersebut sejalan dengan tugas fresh graduate untuk mencari identitas kerjanya. Disisi lain, fresh graduate mengalami perasaan cemas akibat meningkatnya jumlah pengangguran dan persaingan lapangan kerja, tidak mampu menetapkan identitas pribadi yang settle, dan cenderung untuk tidak ingin membahas tugas perkembangan yang harus dihadapinya. Kekhawatiran-kekhawatiran tersebut menggambarkan bahwa sebagian besar dari mereka memang belum siap untuk menghadapi dunia kerja, dimana dalam pengertian Super (1977) kekhawatiran tersebut dikatakan sebagai tingkat kematangan karir yang rendah. Kegagalan untuk mengembangkan identitas karir telah ditemukan dalam beberapa penelitian mengindikasikan psychological well-being individu yang rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa erat hubungan kematangan karir dengan psychological well-being pada fresh graduate di Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah desain korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 200 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah penurunan aspek-aspek kematangan karir Super oleh Dewi Sartika (2003) yang di try out ulang dan Ryff’s Psychological Well-being Scale dengan menggunakan teknik analisis uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan hubungan yang positif antara kematangan karir dengan psychological well-being pada fresh graduate di Kota Bandung (rs = 0.728), artinya semakin tinggi kematangan karir fresh graduate semakin tinggi psychological well-being-nya.

Abstract

Abstract. The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic phenomenon has increased the need for medical personnel, the number of doctors, so that medical faculty students are urgently needed. The stressors faced by medical students come from academic and non-academic so that medical students have extraordinary challenges in their lives and affect their subjective well being. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has also made medical faculty students better prepare themselves before entering society. The research was conducted to determine the SWB of Medical Faculty students in Bandung City. Measuring tools used. Positive Affect and Negative Affect Scales developed by Watson. Clark. and Tellegen and Diener's Life Satisfaction scale adapted by Hanif Akhtar. Respondents were students of the medical faculty of Bandung City, amounting to 332 people. The study used a convenience sampling technique. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The results showed that overall medical students showed high subjective well being as many as 182 people (55%) and classified as having low subjective well being as many as 150 people (45%). Based on gender, women had lower SWB (M=64.58) than men (M=68.84). Based on age, 17 years old had low SWB (M=61.25) compared to 23 years old with high SWB (M=73.64). Based on the level, level 1 students have lower SWB (M=64.10) while level 3 students have high SWB (M=68.61). Abstrak. Adanya fenomena pandemi COVID-19 menjadikan meningkatnya kebutuhan akan tenaga medis, jumlah dokter, sehingga mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran sangat dibutuhkan. Penghayatan stressor yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran berasal dari akademik dan non akademik sehingga mahasiswa kedokteran memiliki tantangan yang luar biasa dalam kehidupannya dan mempengaruhi Subjective well being mereka. Namun pandemi COVID-19 juga membuat mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran lebih mempersiapkan diri sebelum terjun kedalam masyarakat. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui SWB pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Kota Bandung. Alat ukur yang digunakan. Positive Affect and Negative Affect Scales yang dikembangkan oleh Watson. Clark. dan Tellegen dan skala kepuasan hidup (Life Satisfaction) yang dibuat oleh Diener yang diadaptasi oleh Hanif Akhtar. Responden adalah mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran Kota Bandung yang berjumlah 332 orang. Penelitian menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan secara keseluruhan mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran menunjukan Subjective well being yang tinggi sebanyak 182 orang (55%) dan tergolong memiliki subjective well being rendah sebanyak 150 orang (45%). Berdasarkan jenis kelamin, perempuan memiliki SWB rendah (M=64.58) daripada laki-laki (M=68.84). Berdasarkan usia, 17 tahun memiliki SWB rendah (M=61.25) dibandingkan usia 23 tahun dengan SWB tinggi (M=73.64). Berdasarkan tingkat mahasiswa tingkat 1 memiliki SWB lebih rendah (M=64.10) sedangkan mahasiswa tingkat 3 memiliki SWB yang tinggi (M=68.61).

Abstract

Abstract. When children are in the early adolescence phase, they experience physical, psychological, social and behavioral changes that make this phase difficult for both teenager and the whole family. It is often increases the tension of behavior and relationships that are not good and less harmonious between parents and adolescents, so parents need to adjust their parenting strategies and one of which is mindful parenting. This study aims to determine the description of mindful parenting in parents who have children in early adolescence phase in East Bandung. The measuring instrument used in this research is Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting (IMP) developed by Duncan et. al (2009). This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis. The sampling technique in this study is Cluster Random Sampling. The respondents of this study involved 233 mothers and 72 fathers who have children in early adolescence phase in East Bandung. The result showed that mothers who have children in early adolescence phase at 19 junior high schools in East Bandung have high Mindful Parenting. Abstrak. Ketika anak berada pada fase remaja awal, remaja mengalami perubahan fisik, psikologis, sosial dan perilaku yang mengakibatkan fase ini sulit baik bagi remaja maupun seluruh keluarga sehingga seringkali meningkatkan ketegangan perilaku dan hubungan yang kurang baik dan kurang harmonis antara orang tua dengan anak. Sehingga orang tua perlu menyesuaikan strategi pengasuhan mereka, salah satunya dengan mindful parenting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran mindful parenting pada orang tua yang memiliki anak remaja awal di Bandung Timur. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting (IMP) yang dikembangkan oleh oleh Duncan et. al (2009). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Teknik sampling pada penelitian ini menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling. Responden penelitian ini melibatkan 233 ibu dan 72 ayah yang memiliki anak remaja awal di Bandung Timur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ibu yang memiliki anak remaja awal di 19 SMP di Bandung Timur memiliki Mindful Parenting yang tinggi.

Abstract

Fenomena ditemukannya berbagai permasalahan terkait siswa berkebutuhan khusus yang mengikuti sistem pembelajaran reguler di sekolah dasar negeri menuntut sekolah dasar menyelenggarakan pembelajaran inklusi yang menyatukan proses belajar mengajar antara siswa reguler dengan siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Oleh karena itu guru di sekolah dituntut memiliki kompetensi dalam mengajar siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendapat gambaran empirik mengenai kompetensi guru dalam proses mengajar siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Kompetensi guru dibatasi dengan konsep kompetensi profesional guru yang diadaptasi dari konsep dari Mulyasa (2013) dan Garnida (2015) mengenai kompetensi guru profesional dalam pendidikan inklusif. Subjek penelitian adalah guru wali kelas dari kelas 1 hingga kelas 6 yang menangani siswa berkebutuhan khusus dari perwakilan 9 wilayah rayon yang menjadi representasi kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian kompetensi domain student, assessment, instruction, collaboration communication dan professional, mayoritas sedang, sedangkan untuk domain content mayoritas menunjukkan komptensi yang rendah. Domain yang mayoritas hasilnya tinggi yaitu domain learning environment.

Abstract

The problem of drugs in Indonesia is becoming serious because the cases are increasing among teenagers. The National Narcotics Agency has carried out various prevention program efforts, one of which is the "Anti-Drugs" campaign. There are various terms used in drug prevention campaigns. There is an impact of the terms used, one of which is the effect on the implicit association. This study aims to look at the different levels of implicit association with the terms narkoba, NAPZA, pecandu, dan penyalahguna in adolescents at SMA Telkom Bandung. This study uses a quantitative method with a nonprobability sampling technique, namely convenience sampling. Researchers create a google form to select participants according to the characteristics of the sample. The measuring tool used in this study uses the GNAT (Go No-Go Association Task) which measures the strength of the implicit association on the target words narkoba, NAPZA, pecandu, and penyalahguna paired with evaluative attributes. Data analysis in this study uses d-prime (d), which measures the sensitivity of each term where greater sensitivity indicates a stronger association with the term. Hypothesis testing with data processing is done with the JASP program. The results show that there is a level of implicit association in the terms narkoba, NAPZA, pecandu, and penyalahguna with positive and negative evaluative attributes. Permasalahan narkoba di Indonesia marak terjadi dan kasusnya meningkat di kalangan remaja. Oleh karena itu berbagai upaya pencegahan dilakukan salah satunya seperti kampanye “Anti Narkoba”. Terdapat istilah yang bervariasi yang digunakan dalam kampanye pencegahan narkoba. Terdapat dampak dari istilah yang digunakan tersebut salah satunya berpengaruh pada implicit association. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan level implicit association terhadap istilah narkoba, NAPZA, pecandu, dan penyalahguna terhadap remaja SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik sampling nonprobability yaituconvenience sampling. Peneliti menyebarkan google form untuk menjaring partisipan. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan GNAT (Go No-Go Association Task) yang mengukur kekuatan implicit association pada kata target narkoba, NAPZA, pecandu, dan penyalahguna dipasangkan dengan atribut evaluatif. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan d-prime (d’) yaitu mengukur sensitivitas dari setiap istilah dimana sensitivitas yang lebih besar menunjukkan asosiasi yang lebih kuat pada istilah. Uji hipotesis dengan pengolahan data dilakukan dengan program JASP. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat level implicit association pada istilah narkoba, NAPZA, pecandu, dan penyalahguna dengan atribut evaluatif positif dan negatif.
