Abstract

Tilapia fish farming has been developed group of fish farmers in the village have not been enough to increase the economy Wajak fish farmers. This fact has influenced by the only income derived farmed tilapia and the process is substandard, depending on the payment of fish traders who are often in arrears. On the other hand, the declaration of the District Wajak as craft centers rushes, to encourage villagers to develop the program. The obstacles of fish farmers are difficulties in implementing rushes crop cultivation technology, because they only worked in the fishery. For it is based on mutual agreement between the team proposer and fish farmer groups as partners, agreed to implement integrated farming systems diversification program based fish-rushes (mina mendong), which combines fish farming with crop cultivation land rushes in one area. The program aims to optimize the potential of land, which had been used only for farming tilapia, with the modification of field through innovation mina mendong that combines farming of tilapia with the cultivation of land rushes in the same areas and the method as the deep terrace. Methods of implementation mina mendong done with several methods such as: firstly, extension methods of diversification based integrated farming system mina mendong, secondly demo plot of mina mendong, thirdly, giving technical assistance for the maintenance and supervision of the system mina mendong to produce products that can be harvested. The result is increase in income of fish farmers because the diversifications of products are not only tilapia harvested but also plant rushes in the same land. Average income of fish farmers using mina rushes for one year (1 ha) as much as Rp 140 million with a profit of Rp 73.64 million (B / C = 1.11), while cultivating mendong get revenue of Rp 48,000,000 with a profit 23,000,000 (B / C = 0.98).

Abstract

Human resource potential and natural resources boarding school located in agricultural areas. It is an opportunity for the development of the boarding school in the field of agriculture. But the potential of land owned boarding school has not been explored to the optimum, due to the ability of students in the management of agricultural land is limited. The purpose of the implementation of Science and technology program for the community is to empower students in both Al Muqorrobin and Babussalam boarding school about entrepreneurship and develop the skills of the students in the field of organic farming. Methods of implementation of the program using a participatory approach groups or Participatory Rural appraisal (PRA), which involve the students in the education and training activities. Implementation results generally show that after following the extension of the entrepreneurial activities, the students that are interested in trying entrepreneurship particularly in the field of organic vegetables. After participating in the training, the students also have managed to cultivate vegetables and food crops both in the kitchen garden and land boarding school. Constraints faced especially in Babussalam boarding school, because of the location of water sources away from the land, making the maintenance activities so difficult. These problems can be solved by means of the addition of drainage water from the water well to the land. Recommendations on the implementation of this program is the continued assistance relating to the business plan for the students who will develop entrepreneurship in the field of organic farming .

Abstract

This community service activity is carried out to help women in the Dasawisma group RT 03 RW 06 Mulyorejo Village Malang City who have difficulty controlling pests during the practice of cultivating vegetables in their home gardens and vacant lands in their neighborhood. This community service program aims to provide skills to the women of the Dasawisma group in making natural pesticides or biocides to control pests that often attack vegetable crops. The approach method used is training in making tobacco-based biocides and mentoring the application of biocides on some cultivated vegetable crops. The stages of implementing the activities include (1) preparation of tools and materials; (2) Training on making biocides; (3) Assistance in the biocide fermentation process; 4) assistance in the application of biocides to vegetable crops. The results of the community service implementation showed that the women in the Dasawisma group were able to make tobacco-based biocides from fermented products. Application technique by spraying all parts of the plant organs with intervals of spraying biocides three times a week, effective in protecting vegetables during the plant maintenance period. This can be seen from the yield of about 80% of the harvested vegetables that are protected from damage due to pest attacks.

Abstract

Sejumlah bahan kimia yang rutin diaplikasikan pada lahan pertanian sebagai pupuk dan pestisida dapat meningkatkan kadar logam berat terutama Cd, Pb dan As, di dalam tanah. Diperlukan upaya untuk meminimalisir paparan Pb di dalam tanah dan tanaman budidaya di lahan pertanian. Percobaan lapang ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bahan-bahan agrokimia rendah Pb terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sayuran. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Split Split Plot yang terdiri atas 3 faktor yaitu jenis tanaman (T): petsai dan buncis; jenis pestisida (D): rendah Pb dan tanpa Pb; dan jenis pupuk (P): rendah Pb dan Tanpa Pb, dimana masing-masing kombinasi perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pestisida dan pupuk rendah Pb maupun tanpa Pb, mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman petsai dan buncis. Tanaman petsai dan buncis yang diberi pestisida dan pupuk berkadar Pb rendah menghasilkan bobot kering total lebih rendah tinggi yaitu 112, 6 g/tanaman pada petsai dan 73,67 g/tanaman pada buncis, dibanding yang diberi pestisida dan pupuk tanpa Pb. Tanaman petsai yang diberi pestisida dan pupuk berkadar Pb rendah rata-rata menghasilkan bobot segar krop per tanaman 43,48% lebih tinggi dibanding yang diberi pestisida dan pupuk tanpa kadar Pb. Pada buncis, hasil bobot segar buah/polong yang diberi pestisida dan pupuk dengan kadar Pb rendah dan tanpa Pb tidak menunjukkan perbedaan. Agrochemicals that are routinely applied to lands as fertilizers and pesticides can increase the levels of heavy metals, especially Cd, Pb and As, in the soil. The Efforts are needed to minimize Pb exposure in soil and crop. The field experiment conducted to determine the effect of using low-lead agrochemicals on the growth and yield of vegetable crops. The experiment used a Split Split Plot Design which consisted of 3 factors, namely the type of plant (T): Chinese cabbage and beans; type of pesticide (D): low Pb and no Pb; and fertilizer type (P): low Pb and no Pb, where each treatment combination was repeated three times. The results showed that applying pesticides and fertilizers with low or no Pb affected the growth and yield of Chinese cabbage and green beans. Chinese cabbage and beans that were given pesticides and fertilizers with low Pb level produced a lower total dry weight namely 112.6 g/plant on Chinese cabbage and 73.67 g/plant on beans, compared to those that were given pesticides and fertilizers without Pb. Chinese cabbage treated with pesticides and fertilizers with low Pb levels produced an average fresh weight of heads per plant 43.48% higher than those given pesticides and fertilizers without Pb content. Beans treated with pesticides and fertilizers with low Pb levels showed no difference in producing a fresh weight of fruit/pods than treated without Pb.

Abstract

The Sedudut river basin across RT 3 RW 6 Mulyorejo Subdistrict is still not managed well, causing problems such as silting of the river, uneven water flow, environmental pollution, accumulation of rubbish, unpleasant odors and lots of mosquitoes. The aim of community service is to raise awareness among residents and farmer cadets to manage river watersheds to become educational tourism pilots. The method used is community education and advocacy to local governments to create educational tourism targeting residents and farming cadets. The results have been the realization of pioneering educational tourism and institutional strengthening of Sariwongso farmer cadets in managing river watersheds. Support from RT administrators and community leaders increases the involvement of Taruna Tani Sariwangso in managing the Sedudut river basin. The benefits felt by local residents include: the flow of river water is smooth, so there are no piles of rubbish which cause odors and the growth of mosquitoes. The wareng system that has been built has increased from 3 to 5 warengs so that the management of river cleanliness by the residents of RT 3 RW 6 is getting better. The young group of Taruna Tani has been actively pioneering activities in RW6, strengthened by the issuance of the Decree on the Establishment of Taruna Tani which has been ratified by the local RT Head. The number of residents involved previously increased from 4 people to 16 people. The Malang City Government provides support for facilities (fish seeds, feed, harvest nets) and pedestrian infrastructure and fenced bridges to support educational tourism pilots for management of the Sedudut river area.ABSTRAKDaerah aliran sungai Sedudut melintasi RT 3 RW 6 Kelurahan Mulyorejo masih belum dikelola dengan baik sehingga menimbulkan permasalahan seperti pendangkalan sungai, aliran air tidak lancar, pencemaran lingkungan, penumpukan sampah, berbau tidak sedap dan  banyak nyamuk. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran warga dan taruna tani untuk mengelola daerah aliran sungai untuk dijadikan rintisan wisata edukasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendidikan masyarakat dan advokasi kepada pemerintah daerah untuk mewujudkan wisata edukasi dengan sasaran warga dan taruna tani. Hasilnya telah terwujud rintisan wisata edukasi dan penguatan kelembagaan taruna tani Sariwongso dalam mengelola daerah aliran sungai. Dukungan pengurus RT dan tokoh masyarakat menumbuhkan keterlibatan Taruna Tani Sariwangso untuk mengelola daerah aliran sungai Sedudut. Manfaat yang dirasakan warga sekitar, seperti: aliran air sungai lancar, sehingga tidak terjadi tumpukan sampah yang menyebabkan bau dan perkembangan nyamuk. Sistem wareng yang terbangun bertambah dari 3 menjadi 5 wareng sehingga pengelolaan kebersihan sungai oleh warga RT 3 RW 6 semakin baik.  Kelompok muda Taruna Tani telah aktif merintis kegiatan di RW6 diperkuat dengan terbitnya SK Pendirian Taruna Tani yang telah disahkan Ketua RT setempat. Jumlah warga yang terlibat sebelumnya 4 orang menjadi 16 orang. Pemerintah Kota Malang memberikan dukungan sarana (benih ikan, pakan, alat jaring panen) dan prasarana pedesterian dan jembatan berpagar untuk mendukung rintisan wisata edukasi pengelolaan daerah sungai Sedudut.

Abstract

Desa Pandansari di Kecamatan Poncokusumo, Kabupaten Malang, yang rutin dilanda longsor, mengembangkan Program Kampung Lingkungan Lestari (Prolingtari) sebagai upaya mitigasi berbasis pekarangan berkelanjutan. Tujuan program ini adalah membentuk model desa tanggap bencana dan perubahan iklim. Pendekatan dilakukan melalui penyuluhan, Focus Group Discussion, pendampingan, dan demonstrasi. Indikator keberhasilan mencakup respon positif warga dan perangkat desa, serta realisasi kegiatan seperti pembuatan kolam ikan lele dan vertikultur sayuran. Antusiasme masyarakat tinggi, ditunjukkan oleh kehadiran 35 orang dari berbagai kalangan serta diskusi interaktif. Tiga kolam lele berukuran ɵ 3m dengan 1000 bibit berhasil dibuat, melebihi target awal karena adanya dukungan desa. Enam unit vertikultur tanaman sayuran juga terealisasi, melampaui rencana awal. Program diversifikasi olahan buah mangga telah dilaksanakan dengan pelatihan pembuatan sirup, puding, kue bolu, dan manisan. Dukungan penuh dari kepala desa dan masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa Prolingtari efektif dalam membangun kesadaran dan aksi kolektif terhadap mitigasi bencana dan pelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract

Serangan ulat grayak (Spodoptera litura F.) mampu menurunkan produktivitas tanaman kailan (Brassica oleracea var. alboglabra) yang mengakibatkan kerugian besar bagi petani. Upaya penanggulangan serangan hama yang ramah lingkungan sangat penting untuk meminimalisir residu pestisida pada tanaman sayur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas konsentrasi B. bassiana dan metode aplikasi yang berbeda dalam mengendalikan S. litura pada tanaman kailan. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu konsentrasi cendawan B. bassiana 0 g/L (kontrol), 1 g/L, 1,5 g/L, 2 g/L, 2,5 g/L dan metode aplikasi yakni metode pakan dan kontak. Sehingga diperoleh 10 kombinasi perlakuan dan tiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Masing-masing satuan percobaan menggunakan 10 larva ulat grayak instar III. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi dan metode aplikasi B. bassiana berpengaruh pada penurunan aktifitas makan dan intensitas serangan S. litura. Konsentrasi B. bassiana 2.5 g/l dengan aplikasi secara kontak menurunkan aktivitas makan S. litura F. sebesar 28.93% dan menurunkan intensitas serangan sebesar 31.9%. Angka kematian S. litura meningkat seiring dengan tingginya konsentrasi B. bassiana hingga mencapai 93,3% dari jumlah larva yang diujikan. Metode pengaplikasian B. bassiana secara kontak 4,6% lebih efektif meningkatkan kematian larva Spodoptera litura F. dibandingkan metode pakan. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi B. bassiana yang diberikan hingga 2.5 g/l akan meningkatkan kecepatan kematian larva S. litura dibandingkan dengan tanpa aplikasi B. bassiana

Abstract

Desa Pandansari, yang hampir setiap tahun mengalami bencana longsor, telah berupaya mengatasinya dengan memanfaatkan lahan rehabilitasi dan pekarangan secara optimal sebagai bentuk mitigasi. Potensi ini menjadi modal dasar bagi masyarakat Desa Pandansari untuk mengembangkan program desa lingkungan lestari (Prolingtari) melalui pemanfaatan pekarangan berkelanjutan di Desa Pandansari, Kecamatan Poncokusumo, Kabupaten Malang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menciptakan model desa tanggap bencana akibat longsor dan perubahan iklim. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan personal dan kelompok melalui penyuluhan, diskusi kelompok terarah (FGD), pendampingan, dan demonstrasi. Tolok ukur keberhasilan pengembangan Prolingtari meliputi respons positif dari masyarakat dan aparat desa terhadap sosialisasi program, terealisasinya pembangunan kolam ikan lele dan vertikultur tanaman sayuran, serta diversifikasi produk buah mangga dari hasil tanaman pekarangan. Respons positif masyarakat terhadap Prolingtari cukup tinggi, ditunjukkan dengan kehadiran 35 orang yang mewakili berbagai kelompok (pemuda, ibu-ibu PKK, bapak-bapak, LMDHK, dan perangkat desa) serta diskusi interaktif selama kegiatan berlangsung. Selain itu, telah terealisasi tiga kolam ikan lele berkerangka besi dengan diameter 3 meter yang masing-masing berisi 1000 bibit ikan lele. Program ini dianggap berhasil karena rencana awal hanya membuat tiga kolam berdiameter 1,5 meter dengan 500 bibit ikan lele per kolam, namun meningkat berkat dukungan dari desa.

Abstract

Most of the people in Dadapan Village have yards that have not been utilized optimally. The community also does not know the techniques for cultivating vegetable plants in the yard to fulfill household scale food security programs. This community service program aims to empower the community in Dadapan village, especially women from the PKK and Karang Taruna through the use of yard land for the production of vegetable crops. The implementation method applied is training in simple hydroponic vegetable farming which is carried out through the Real Work Lecture program. The activity stages begin with coordinating the implementation of the program with community leaders, training activities and practice of installing a hydroponic wick system in the yard. The results of the training activities showed that the community, especially PKK women and members of youth organizations, were able to cultivate vegetable plants in their yards using the wick system hydroponic planting technique. The wick system hydroponic planting technique is very popular with PKK women and youth organizations because the materials and equipment used are very easy to obtain, economical and easy to apply in the home garden. The practice of cultivating vegetables in the home yard using a hydroponic system can support the fulfillment of vegetable needs at the household level, supported by intensive maintenance of vegetable plants so that the home yard becomes more productive
