Abstract

Anemia can be defined as a condition in which the body does not have sufficient red blood cells, even though erythrocytes contain hemoglobin, which is responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body. Anemia in pregnant women is a significant public health problem in Indonesia. Based on the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women reached 48.9%, indicating a high health burden due to this condition. This study aims to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and maternal knowledge levels with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. The research method used a systematic review with a literature search in the PubMed and Google Scholar databases for the period 2019-2024 using keywords related to nutritional status, maternal knowledge, and anemia. Of the total 4,520 publications obtained, 13 relevant articles were systematically selected, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The review results showed a significant relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women (p<0.05), where mothers with poor nutritional status were at higher risk of developing anemia. In addition, maternal knowledge levels also showed a significant relationship with the incidence of anemia (p<0.05), where insufficient knowledge increased the risk of anemia. This study concludes that maternal nutritional status and knowledge are two important factors that are interrelated in determining the risk of anemia in pregnant women, so efforts are needed to increase nutrition and health education to reduce the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a critical period that requires optimal nutritional intake to support maternal health and fetal growth and development. Inadequate nutritional intake can lead to various health problems such as anemia, chronic energy deficiency (CED), low birth weight (LBW), impaired brain development, and the risk of other pregnancy complications. Unbalanced and low-diversity food consumption patterns can increase the risk of anemia, chronic energy deficiency, and other pregnancy complications. This study aims to describe the nutritional adequacy and dietary diversity of pregnant women in the Warunggunung Community Health Center working area based on the percentage of the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA). The study used a quantitative descriptive design with data collection through a Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) and intake analysis using NutriSurvey. The results showed that most micronutrients such as vitamin A, vitamin B complex, and vitamin C were met, while energy and magnesium sufficiency were still low in the majority of respondents. The distribution of dietary diversity showed that 54.7% of pregnant women were in the good category, while 45.3% had not achieved adequate dietary diversity. These findings underscore the importance of interventions to improve dietary patterns through nutrition education, increased access to nutritious food, and ongoing nutritional status monitoring. Efforts to improve the diet quality of pregnant women are essential to support maternal and fetal health and prevent the risk of pregnancy complications.

Abstract

Health workers are a key resource in hospital service systems, and their work motivation directly affects the quality of healthcare services. Low work motivation among health workers may lead to decreased performance, increased burnout, and higher turnover rates. One of the organizational factors that plays an important role in shaping work motivation is leadership style. This article aims to analyze the influence of leadership styles on the work motivation of health workers in Regional General Hospitals (Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah [RSUD]) through a literature review approach. A narrative literature review was conducted by searching for open-access scientific articles in Google Scholar, PubMed, DOAJ, and the Garuda Portal. The inclusion criteria covered original research articles published between 2015 and 2025, discussing the relationship between leadership style and the work motivation of health workers in the RSUD context and available in full text. A total of five selected articles were analyzed and synthesized thematically. The findings indicate that effective ward leadership, democratic/participative leadership, and achievement-oriented leadership are positively associated with nurses' work motivation in RSUD. In contrast, leadership that provides limited staff involvement does not support optimal work motivation. This review concludes that strengthening communicative, participative, and empowering leadership is an important strategy for improving health workers' motivation and supporting service quality in Regional General Hospitals. Therefore, hospital management is recommended to strengthen leadership capacity through training, supportive supervision, and leadership practices that encourage the active involvement of health workers in decision-making.
