Abstract

The porpose of thesis this reseach to improve the mathematical communication skills of student of class VIII junior higth school Muhammadiyah Kupang towards learning mathematics using the RME approach, March 2020. There are two data colaction teach techniques used in this study, namely test and non-test. This type of reseach used in this reseach is development reseach. The design in this study is the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, development, Implementation, Evaluation). The analysis technique used in this study is quantitative data analysis consiss of analysis validity, practicality and effectiviness. The result of this study incate that the validiity of the develpment of learning tools with the RME apprroach in the RPP is 98.21 and hhe LKS 93.45 categorized as very good. Is it said to be practical because it is based on observations that the learning the device with the the RME approach on the flat side room building material in class VIIIB was carried out well during the tria. It is said to be effective because it has met the catagory that is the reference for the results of the mathematical communitation tes in the complelete catagori. So it can concluded that the developed learning device is declared valid, practical and effective in learning mathematics so that it can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of developing LKS-based ARIAS models on the subject of triangles and quadrilateral. This research and development or Research and Development (R & D). The population in this study were all junior high school students of all VII grade studentsof SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang in consisting of 153 students. While the random sampling technique. The results showed teh development of learning and learning with ARIAS-based LKS models on the subject of triangles and quadrilateral meeting the validity criteria and feasible to use, namely syllabus with validation value of 4,34, RPP with validation value of 4,30 and LKS with validation value of 3,39 accumulated from the assesment conducted by the validator, and the evaluation of each prototypeof syllabus, RPP, and LKS with on the average4,01 which was declared very or feasible to use. The results of student responses on the worksheetwith the ARIAS model as a whole got a very good response with the achievement of an average assesment score test with a value of 83,33% witch was declaredeffective.

Abstract

This research is intended to find out how much student’s achievements are by applying peer tutoring strategies in mathematics in class VIIG MTs N Kota Kupang City. The study used was a qualitative study with the learning strategy applied was a Peer Tutoring Strategy. The research subjects were Grade VIIG students of MTs N Kota Kupang City in the 2019/2020 academic year totaling 31 students the observed and measured variable in the student’s mathematics learning achievement. The results of the study explained that increasing student mathematics leraning achievement in the learning process that is with peer tutoring strategies learning with peer tutors is learning done with student peers.

Abstract

Analysis of the Children’s Mathematical Modeling Ability in Boti Traditional Village, Kupang. Academic Year 2020/2021. Skripsi. Mathematics Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. University of Muhammadiyah Kupang. This study aims to determine the mathematical modeling ability of children in the traditional village of Boti, which is very necessary in solving contextual problems completely because they do not understand the problem and do not able to convert the problem into a mathematical model. This research isqualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were 7 children in Boti traditional village. There were 3 interview test respondents who were selected based on the high, medium, and low ability categories. Data collection techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. The validity of the data tested using a triangulation of data technique. Based on the results of 3 essay test items, it showed that the mathematical modeling ability has 3 categories, namely: 1 high-ability child, 4 moderately capable children, and 2 low-ability children.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop valid mathematics learning media, practical, and effective categories with mind mapping learning method. This learning media was developed to improve students understanding concept in mathematics at SMP N 16 Kupang City. This study was Reaserch and Development (R&D). Products here were lesson plan (LP) and students’ worksheet (SW). The design of this study was ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implement,andEvaluate). The instrument here was validation sheet, students’ responsive questionary, and concept understanding test sheet. The result in term of valid category, this learning media was valid and the validation score for the first learning media was 3.42 and the second learning media 3,58. In term of practical category, this learning media was practical, so it can be used, and the average score of students’ responsive questionary was 84. In term of effectiveness, this learning media was very effective with score of 80%. Therefore, the development of learning media with mind mapping method to improve students concept understanding in mathematics for students at SMPN 16 Kupang city in this study was valid, practical, and effective, so it can be implemented in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mathematical learning media with the Discovery Learning model on valid, practical and effective junior high school students' learning outcomes. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study. The product developed ar learning media in the form of lesson plans and worksheets using the Discovery Learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes. The R&D research design used in this study is ADDIE which consists of 5 stages, namely: Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, and Evaluate. The data collection instruments are Validation Sheet, Student Response Questionnaire and Concept Understanding Test Sheet. The data analysis techniques for the development of each learning media were in valid, practical and effective criteria. The study showed that, in terms of validity, the average of validation learning media was 3.65 with valid criteria. In terms of practicality, based on practicality trials, it was found that the results of the students’ response questionnaire to the learning media reached an average of 88.75% and was considered practical so that it was feasible to use. As for the results of the completeness level of the effectiveness analysis reached 80% with very effective criteria. Based on the above, it can be concluded that the development of learning media with discovery learning learning models on mathematics learning outcomes for junior High school of Muhammadiyah Kupang students was valid, practical and effective and can be used in learning.

Abstract

Development of Learning Devices Using a Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model for Building Flat Sided Spaces for Class VIII Students of Muder Teresa Middle School for the2020/2021 Academic Year. Thesis for the Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP, Muhammadyah University, Kupang. This study aims to produce learning tools in the form of lesson plans and worksheets on flat sided geometric shapes using a problem-based learning model for class VIII students of SMP Muder Teresa Kupang who have valid, practical and effective qualifications. This research is development research using the modified ADDIE model which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation with 10 respondents. The data collection technique used was lesson plan assessment sheets, LKS assessment sheets and tests. To test the validity of the data, practicality, and effectiveness used analytical techniques. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the development of mathematics learning tools using a problembased learning model to improve the ability and independence of learning mathematics for Grade VIII students of SMP Muder Teresa, Kupang, is feasible to use.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze student literacy ability in Mathematic teaching in Muhammadiyah Senior High School (SMA Muhammadiyah) of Kupang. This research was qualitative descriptive. Subject here was student of SMA Muhammadiyah class XI MIA in Kupang. These students were categorized firstly in three ability categories i.e., high, middle, and low. Two students was taken in each category. The object here was the analysis of students’ literacy ability at SMA Muhammadiyah Kupang to solve problems in linear program. Technic in this study was purposive sampling. Data was analyzed based on test and interview results. The validity was checked using triangulation method by comparing the obtained data in interview test. Results show that the student literacy ability in mathematic was high and fulfill all indicators. Student was able to formulate mathematic model and real problems of linear program, and give implementation mathematic model design to solve mathematic solution. Student with middle literacy ability only have two indicators. These students able to make decision to problems, know some parts that needed in order to making problem model in mathematics, then make evaluation on it. Student with low literacy ability only have one indicator, which is formulate indicator. By this indicator those students able to change problem to suitable mathematic model in variable form. There for some efforts was needed in order to increase mathematic literacy to students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Brain Based Learning – based module on the subject of arithmetic sequences and series onstudents’ conceptual understanding of SMP Negeri 1 Amarasi Timur. This research was conducted at Amarasi Timur 1 Publik Middle School, Odd Semester, 2022/2023 Academic Year. The type of research used is research and development (R&D), namely the development of teaching tools including teaching material modules, test questions, and student response questionnaires. The development method for this device is using a 4D model which includes: (1) the definition stage (Define), (2) the design stage (Design), (3) the development stage (Develop), and (4) the deployment stage (Dessiminate). The subjects in this research trial were class VIII students of SMPN 1 Amarasi Timur and to find out the response of teachers and students to the development of learning modules based on brain based learning. Data analysis techniques in this study were validation tests carried out by media experts and material experts as well as practicality and effectiveness. The results of the study showed that the validation results of Brain Based Learning modules by media experts were 3,58 in the Very Valid category, and results of material experts were 3,50 in the very valid category, overall the average module validation was 3,54 in the very valid category. The feasibility results of the learning module are based on the results of the assessment that the learning module achieves an average total score of 3,06 out of a maximum score of 4% in the practical category. This can be interpreted that media experts state that the learning module is in the valid category an is suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine student learning outcomes relate to autonomous curriculum mathematics learning. This is a descriptive qualitative method with observation, interviews, tests, and documentation as data collection techniques. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, conclusion, and verification. Several important components were discovered, including lesson plan, learning implementation, evaluation of student’s outcomes, consequences of implementing an independent curriculum. The result showed that the assessment of student learning outcomes of first semesterreport cards and student scoresaverage of 100% which showed the completeness achievement criteria. Based on student test scores, almost all students achieved completeness in 88.9%.In the implications of Merdeka curriculum, especially in learning mathematics, students are more active, productive, and create a conducive class.Based on the observation sheet of learning activities from three activities and 19 statement items, it was discovered that they all appeared only during the learning process. As a result, the students were able to achieve high levels of achievement in mathematics while using Merdeka curriculum, indicating that the implementation was very effective.
