Abstract

Performance evaluation is essential for an industry's ability to operate successfully. Efficiency management is becoming crucial and important to enhancing the sustainability of the industry. The industry needs to measure its performance for the following reasons: (i) develop the economy and its operation efficiency in a sustainable way; (ii) supply data for decision-making units (DMUs); and (iii) optimize output using the fewest resources. Performance measurement indicators relate to the performance of the industry itself, such as: added value/cost of production factors, indirect taxes, number of workers, input costs, number of companies, added value/market prices, and production index. The purpose of this research is to measure the performance of large and medium-sized industries (LMIs) in Indonesia. LMIs have a strategic role as the main engine and driver of the economy. Measuring LMI performance is very necessary so that LMI can grow and develop sustainably. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a method for measuring performance. DEA is a non-parametric linear programming technique and used to determine comparisons between DMUs with different inputs and outputs. The research results indicate that there are three DMU classification categories, namely: Category 1 (ES = 1), Category 2 (ES = 0.9986-0.9998), and Category 3 (ES = 0.9971-0.9974). The percentages for each category are 50%, 37.5%, and 12.5%.

Abstract

CV. Bakso Empal Sapi is a company engaged in the manufacturing sector whose main work is in the form of operational production of finished food in the form of meatballs, the absence of productivity measurements in the company systematically makes it unable to meet production targets or maximize production capacity. Therefore, CV. Bakso Empal Sapi seeks to improve its productivity by measuring each productivity criteria. The method used to make measurements is the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method and weighting using the Likert Scale, then after obtaining the results of the calculation, an evaluation is carried out and find out the root of the problem that occurs against the worst productivity criteria using the Fishbone Diagram. Then an improvement plan is carried out which aims to increase productivity again. From the results of productivity measurements using the OMAX method, it can be seen that the best productivity occurred in December at 741.45 and for the worst productivity occurred in January at 143.38. Then from the achievement of the score it is known that the criteria that contribute less to the productivity index are criteria 5 with a score of 13 and 2 with a score of 21 and a strategy to increase productivity is to evaluate the root causes of decreased productivity in criteria 5 and criteria 2.

Abstract

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a method considered to evaluate a company's performance. DEA applies multiplies the input and output variables for analyzing the efficiency but does not provide guidance in selecting those variables. As a rule, researchers use several methods. If the number of variables used is too many, it will affect the efficiency value. This will reduce the strength of the efficiency value, which can cause all DMU values to be efficient.   DEA and variable selection are important in performance evaluation because DEA aids in determining relative efficiency, whereas variable selection guarantees that the evaluation is based on the most relevant and significant aspects. The purpose of this study is to suggest the variable combination method for subtracting the number of variables that will be utilized in implementing the DEA. The method used in this study is the Average Input Variable Combinations (VCs)-Variable Returns-to-Scale (VRS) DEA.  The data were classified, defined, and processed with a view to computing efficiency scores and DMU classifications. The research result indicated that the proposed method (VCs-DEA) treats the variable reduction factor and the average calculation factor to obtain the final result of the efficiency score.  These two factors contribute to the accuracy of the efficiency value. Some real-world implications of these findings, such as making better use of resources, streamlining operations, and coming up with new plans, Furthermore, the evidence may be used to benchmark performance as well as help decision-makers in creating more effective policy. This study finds that only 1 out of 12 DMUs is efficient (8%), while the remaining 11 are inefficient (92%). Indonesia quarrying establishment can be classified into 3 categories such as Optimal Category (S-Sand); Middle Category (LS-Lime-Stone; F-Feldspars; Gr-Granite; SA-Stone and Andesite; K-Kaolin; Q-Quartz; and G-Gravel); and Less Category (So-Soil; C-Clay; M-Marble; and O-Others).

Abstract

This community service activity (CSA) aims to introduce and optimize digital marketing strategies for the development of the tempeh home industry in Karbungoh Village, Sukolilo District, Madura Island. The tempe home industry in this region has significant economic potential due to its reliance on local raw materials and the skills of the local community. However, limitations in promotion and utilization of digital technology have resulted in product marketing remaining conventional and limited market reach. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this activity utilized observation, interviews, and direct mentoring of tempeh entrepreneurs to understand their actual conditions and marketing needs. The results of the activity indicated that entrepreneurs had a vision to become hygienic, high-quality, and highly competitive tempeh producers but lacked a structured digital strategy. Therefore, the community service team introduced a digital marketing strategy based on social media (Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business) and marketplaces (Shopee and Tokopedia) to expand market reach. Additionally, training was provided on promotional content creation, local product branding, and the development of a digital marketing evaluation plan. The implementation of this strategy is expected to increase competitiveness, strengthen the identity of local Madurese products, and open opportunities for expansion into modern markets. This activity is a concrete manifestation of the synergy between universities and the community in supporting digital transformation for micro-businesses in rural areas.
