Abstract

Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional status determined by the PB/U or TB/U index. These measurements fall within the threshold (Z-Score) <-2 SD to -3 SD (short/stunted) and <-3 SD (highly short). Per the 2024 target established by the president, the frequency of stunting can be reduced to 14%. It has been demonstrated that there are still dietary disorders, particularly in the vulnerable age group, namely toddlers in Kemuning Lor Village. In 2018, there were still 33 toddlers with nutritional status disorders, including 24 toddlers (19.7%) with overnutrition, 5 toddlers (4.1%) with undernutrition, and 4 toddlers (3.2%) with malnutrition. Smart Systems is a subfield of Computer Science that focuses on developing competent methods inspired by natural events to address various complicated problems in the real world, including the health realm; early detection of stunting. This study aimed to develop an early detection method for nutritional status and stunting based on anthropometric standards in toddlers in Kemuning Lor Village, which is anticipated to aid cadres or the community in overcoming nutritional status and stunting in toddlers.

Abstract

Nutritional status in toddlers is one of the indicators used to describe the quality of toddler health. Toddlers’ nutritional status is interpreted based on some indices, namely weight for age, length/height for age, and weight for length/height Z-score. The nutritional status of toddlers is affected by various factors, both maternal and child factors. Anaemia and chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy affect a toddler’s nutrition status. Birth weight, exclusive breastfeeding, and complementary food may result in a toddler’s nutrition status as well. This study aims to compare the mother’s and toddler’s characteristics based on the nutritional status of the toddler. This was an observational analytical cross-sectional study. All data for the analysis of this paper were obtained from observations of the toddlers, interviews with mothers, and recorded data from KIA book. Toddlers’ weight and length/height were measured when the subject came to Posyandu. Questions about exclusive breastfeeding and complementary food were asked of mothers. Information about anaemia and chronic energy deficiency status was obtained from KIA book. This study used chi-square test to finds evidence that, on 88 subjects, there is no difference in anaemia and chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy, birth weight, exclusive breastfeeding, and complementary food among all nutritional status indices.

Abstract

Currently, Indonesia is facing serious Multiple Nutritional Problems (MGG) with 30.8% stunting and 35.4% obesity rates. The Healthy Growth Card (KMS) serves as an instrument for growth monitoring, particularly related to nutritional status. Growth disturbances, such as malnutrition due to both nutritional deficiencies and excesses, can be detected early by plotting weight on the KMS. Websites are a form of internet marketing and an effective part of digital marketing for disseminating information and promoting products. This research aims to create a prototype for digital marketing electronic Growth Chart (e-KMS). The research employs the software system development method using the Prototype model. The prototype is designed using UML (Unified Modeling Language) and case tools. The digital marketing prototype is a website-based platform with capabilities for promoting and registering online at the Polytechnic Institute of Jember (Polije) Daycare, as well as serving as a Communication Information and Education (CIE) medium for assessing and monitoring the nutritional status of children in the form of e-KMS. Program coding is needed to make the prototype usable as a digital marketing tool for e-KMS, enabling the monitoring of children's growth to be implemented in childcare institutions.

Abstract

Background: Birth weight is a critical indicator of an infant's health. Research conducted in Indonesia has identified low birth weight (LBW) as a leading cause of neonatal mortality, accounting for approximately 35% of all cases. This study aims to determine the factors influencing the incidence of LBW.Method: The study used a retrospective design and included 83 respondents selected through quota sampling. Data were collected from the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbooks at Manggis Integrated Service Post (posyandu). Univariate analysis was performed to calculate frequency and percentage values. Bivariate analysis was carried out using the chi-squared test to examine relationships between variables. Multivariate analysis was conducted using the logistic regression test to assess the influence of multiple variables.Result: Maternal age at pregnancy (p=0.037) and maternal mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) (p=0.034) were significantly associated with the occurrence of LBW in newborns. The odds ratio (OR) analysis revealed MUAC as the primary factor influencing LBW (OR=4.278), followed by maternal age during pregnancy (OR = 3.750). In comparison, haemoglobin levels (p = 0.500), maternal height (p = 0.408), and gestational age (p=0.118) were not significantly associated with the occurrence of LBW. MUAC was found to influence the occurrence of LBW in Kemuning Lor Village (p = 0.027). The MUAC variable accounted for 16.9% of the variance in LBW cases (R2 = 0.169). Improving the nutritional status of adolescent girls is imperative to ensure optimal health outcomes in future pregnancies.

Abstract

Electronic Growth Chart (e-KMS) is an innovative platform for monitoring children's health by tracking weight and height. The user interface (UI) is designed for intuitive interaction, allowing users to operate the system efficiently. This research aims to analyses the e-KMS UI based on established UI standards using a descriptive quantitative method with a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach. The study involved 15 respondents. Results showed that the system was very easy to use and essential for monitoring children's health. Consistency was evaluated across different devices, revealing that the system functioned uniformly. Feedback was analyses by examining the system's visual cues during key actions such as logging in and inputting a child’s data, ensuring users could confirm successful operations. Finally, Visibility was assessed by observing how well users understood the input results, with the system effectively displaying a child’s growth chart. The findings highlight the importance of these four UI principles in creating a user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and intuitive interface. By adhering to these principles, the e-KMS UI enhances user engagement, satisfaction, and overall user experience, contributing to more effective health monitoring for children. To enhance usability, future improvements should focus on accessibility, streamlined navigation, and user feedback integration.

Abstract

The delay in the return of inpatient medical records at Hospital X reached 71.23% in February 2022. This indicates a persistently high delay rate that does not comply with the standard for returning inpatient medical records, which is 2 x 24 hours. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors contributing to the late return of inpatient medical records using the WHO behavior theory. This research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that for the Thoughts and Feelings variable, the contributing factors were the lack of staff knowledge regarding the standard return time for inpatient medical records, as well as the fact that some staff had never attended training or seminars related to medical records. The Personal Reference variable was not identified as a contributing factor. For the Resources variable, there were no supporting facilities available in the medical record return process in each room, the SOPs did not include related units, had not been re-socialized, and were not available in every inpatient room. Regarding the Culture variable, incorrect knowledge was considered correct, and staff had to wait for the doctor’s schedule to complete signature requirements. In conclusion, delays in the return of inpatient medical records were influenced by staff knowledge, training, availability of supporting facilities, incomplete or poorly disseminated SOPs, and habitual practices among hospital personnel during the record return process.
