Abstract

This study explores the dual impact of artisanal gold mining on economic livelihood and environmental sustainability in Tedeboe Village, Rampi District, North Luwu Regency. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with four key informants—including the village head and three local miners—and through direct field observation. Data were analyzed using Creswell’s qualitative analysis framework, encompassing coding and thematic development to capture nuanced insights. The findings indicate that artisanal gold mining has significantly improved household income, especially in meeting basic needs and funding education. However, the sector’s informal nature and high dependency expose the community to economic volatility. Moreover, despite limited use of chemicals, awareness of mercury’s environmental and health risks is rising among miners. Environmental degradation, particularly soil and water pollution, alongside potential respiratory hazards, emerges as a critical concern. The study underscores the urgent need for sustainable mining practices, stronger local regulation, and capacity-building through education and economic diversification. These findings advocate for a balanced approach to rural development—one that harmonizes economic benefits with ecological resilience and community well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of money supply (M2) on inflation in Indonesia during the period 2008-2022. The population of this research includes economic data related to money supply (M2) and inflation in Indonesia, with a sample consisting of annual data from 2008 to 2022 obtained from publications by the Central Bureau of Statistics and Bank Indonesia. The research method used is quantitative with a simple linear regression approach to test the relationship between the independent variable (M2) and the dependent variable (inflation). Data analysis techniques include classical assumption tests, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing to determine the significant effect between M2 and inflation. The results show a significant negative relationship between money supply (M2) and inflation in Indonesia, where each unit increase in M2 tends to decrease inflation by 0.814. The R Square value of 0.464 indicates that 46.4% of the variability in inflation can be explained by changes in M2. This research emphasizes the importance of controlling the money supply as a monetary policy instrument to maintain inflation stability and the Indonesian economy.

Abstract

Abstract

Stunting is the most serious nutritional problem in Indonesia, caused by inadequate nutritional intake. This condition is characterized by impaired growth, where children's height is shorter compared to the average height of children their age. Stunting can be prevented if interventions are carried out before the child reaches the age of two to five years. In Kumpi Village, one child was found to be at risk of Stunting. To prevent Stunting, knowledge transfer through training and community mentoring is needed, one of which is by strengthening food security. This activity uses an active participation method and involves various activities such as "nutrition Friday" at Tunas Harapan Kindergarten and PAUD, giving parcels to children at risk of Stunting, "clean Saturday" activities, the "smart kindergarten" program, utilizing home yards for cultivation, distributing catfish seeds, planting organic vegetables, and making liquid organic fertilizer. The results of this activity indicate that the community of Kumpi Village understands that Stunting can be addressed through improved food security and environmental support. This activity has significant implications for Stunting eradication strategies through community empowerment and enhanced food security.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of accountability and transparency in the management of the Village Budget (APBDesa) in Sintuwulemba Village, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, is carried out. The researcher used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews as the research method. Data were obtained by conducting interviews with three key informants consisting of the village secretary, the village treasurer, and the Village Consultative Body. The research findings indicate that the Sintuwulemba village government has applied the principle of accountability in the management of village funds. This is evident from the planning, implementation, administration, and accountability processes that are open, involving the community in every process. In terms of transparency, the Sintuwulemba village government has applied the principle of transparency where every village development policy and the use of village finances always go through the village deliberation stage. These two principals have made Sintuwulemba Village one of the successful villages in implementing village development and good village fund management in Poso Regency. These steps are also those that need to be emulated by other villages in Poso Regency and its surroundings.
