Abstract

The fluorescence properties of complexes of dexchlorpheniramine maleate (DXC) and erythrosine B (ERB) under buffer conditions have been observed through experiments. After the excitation was maintained at 504 nm, the emission wavelength was measured at 556 nm. The outcome demonstrated that the amount of DXC added to the mixture causes the fluorescence of erythrosine to be correspondingly quenched. This system functions best at a pH of 3.6. The research demonstrates the potential of ERB as a complexing agent for DXC quantitative analysis through complex ion formation.

Abstract

Kopi merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan Indonesia dengan potensi lokal di Sirampog, Brebes, di mana UMKM seperti Kedai Kopi Kopirasi berperan penting dalam perekonomian. Namun, bisnis ini menghadapi keterbatasan produk olahan sehingga rentan terhadap fluktuasi pasar. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendiversifikasi produk olahan kopi di Kedai Kopi Kopirasi melalui introduksi permen jeli kopi-jahe. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari pelatihan secara langsung dan pendampingan mengenai pembuatan permen jeli kopi-jahe, serta pemberian hibah peralatan produksi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mitra telah berhasil memproduksi permen jeli dengan tekstur, rasa, dan aroma yang baik, serta memahami seluruh tahapan proses pembuatannya secara mandiri. Produk baru ini berpotensi meningkatkan nilai jual, menciptakan daya tarik konsumen baru, dan membuka sumber pendapatan tambahan bagi kedai. Sebagai rekomendasi, mitra disarankan untuk melakukan uji pasar secara terbatas, mengembangkan kemasan yang menarik, serta mengeksplorasi varian rasa lain untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk dalam jangka panjang

Abstract

Kesehatan merupakan hak asasi manusia yang dijamin oleh konstitusi Negara Republik Indonesia dan diwujudkan melalui penyelenggaraan Sistem Jaminan Sosial Nasional, salah satunya Program Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN). Namun demikian, rendahnya pemahaman masyarakat desa mengenai konsep, manfaat, serta dasar hukum asuransi kesehatan masih menjadi permasalahan yang memengaruhi optimalisasi pemanfaatan program tersebut. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan kegiatan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan penyelenggaraan asuransi kesehatan di Desa Ledug, Kecamatan Kembaran, Kabupaten Banyumas, serta menganalisis perannya dalam meningkatkan literasi masyarakat dari perspektif kesehatan, ekonomi, dan hukum. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dan penyuluhan melalui ceramah interaktif, diskusi, dan tanya jawab yang melibatkan masyarakat, perangkat desa, serta tokoh masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pentingnya asuransi kesehatan sebagai instrumen perlindungan sosial, pengelolaan risiko ekonomi keluarga, serta pemenuhan hak dan kewajiban hukum sebagai peserta JKN. Selain itu, pemerintah desa memiliki peran strategis dalam pendataan kepemilikan asuransi kesehatan, sosialisasi program JKN, serta fasilitasi pendaftaran dan pengusulan peserta PBI. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa sinergi antara perguruan tinggi, pemerintah desa, dan masyarakat sangat penting untuk mendukung pemerataan akses pelayanan kesehatan dan keberlanjutan program JKN di tingkat desa. Abstract

Penambahan bahan kimia obat ke dalam jamu banyak dilakukan dengan tujuan meningkatkan khasiat dalam terapi. Salah satu bahan kimia obat yang ditambahkan adalah deksametason dan metamizol yang berfungsi sebagai antiradang dan analgetik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan metode analisis FTIR yang dikombinasi dengan kemometrik agar mampu mengidentifikasi dexametason dan metamizol pada jamu pegal linu secara simultan. Metamizol baku, deksametason baku dan sampel jamu diidentifikasi dengan metode ATR-FTIR yang dikombinasi dengan kemometrik PCA dan PLS pada bilangan gelombang 400-4000 cm-1. Hasil analisis score plot PCA menunjukkan FTIR yang dikombinasi kemometrik mampu mengklasifikasikan dexametason, metamizol dan sampel jamu referensi. Analisis kuantitatif dengan PLS menunjukkan nilai R2 0,999 dan RMSEC sebesar 0,325 pada campuran biner sampel jamu referensi dan deksametason. Sedangkan analisis PLS  pada campuran biner sampel jamu referensi dan metamizol menunjukkan nilai R2 0,998 dan RMSEC sebesar 0,676. Hasil validasi silang (cross validation) menunjukkan nilai RMSEC yang kecil dan nilai R2 mendekati 1 pada rentang konsetrasi 10-50% campuran deksametason atau metamizol dengan sampel jamu pegal linu referensi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode FTIR yang dikombinasikan dengan kemometrik mampu mengidentifikasi adanya kandungan BKO metamizol dan deksametason dalam jamu pegal linu secara simultan.

Abstract

Introduction: Turmeric tamarind herbal drink (Jamu Kunyit Asam) is a popular traditional medicine in Indonesia, valued for the health benefits of curcuminoids from turmeric. However, traditional preparation methods, particularly boiling time, are not standardized, potentially leading to inconsistent curcuminoid content, which affects efficacy. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of boiling time on the curcuminoid content in Jamu Kunyit Asam and to identify the optimal boiling time to achieve the maximum concentration. Methods: Fresh curcuma rhizomes (Curcuma longa L.) and tamarind fructus (Tamarindus indica L.) were boiled at 90 ± 2°C. Samples were collected at 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30-minute intervals. Curcuminoids were isolated using liquid-liquid extraction with chloroform and quantified using a validated UV-Vis spectrophotometry method at a maximum wavelength of 423 nm. Results: The analytical method was validated and showed excellent linearity (r = 0.9997), accuracy (92% recovery), and precision (%RSD = 0.89). The results demonstrated a non-linear relationship between boiling time and curcuminoid content. The concentration increased sharply to a peak of 57.602 ppm at the 10-minute mark, followed by a consistent decrease to 24.576 ppm by 30 minutes. Conclusion: The optimal boiling time for maximizing curcuminoid content in Jamu Kunyit Asam is 10 minutes at 90°C. Boiling for less than 10 minutes results in incomplete extraction, while boiling longer leads to significant thermal degradation of curcuminoids. This finding provides a scientific basis for standardizing the preparation of this traditional herbal medicine to ensure optimal bioactive compound content.

Abstract

Cinchonine has potential as a topical antibiotic with a mechanism of action that inhibits bacterial cell wall formation. Cinchonine is insoluble in water, resulting in poor penetration. The aim of the research was to develop a cinchonine emulgel formula using the Response Surface Method (D-optimal) as an antibacterial with parameters spreadability, adhesiveness, pH, and viscosity. The optimum cinchonine emulgel was determined based on the desirability value (range 0-1). The release test of cinchonine emulgel was carried out using a 12-14 kD cut-off dialysis bag. Cinchonine emulgel was tested for antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus by the diffusion method with a positive control and a negative control. The inhibition zone parameters were carried out with observation intervals of 18 and 24 hours. Stability test of the optimum formula was carried out by cycling test and accelerated method with test parameters including spreadability, adhesiveness, and pH. The optimum composition of cinchonine emulgel consisted of cinchonine 1.5; HPMC 2; glycerin 1; tween 80 4.99; propylene glycol 1.14; oleic acid 14.84; and deionized water up to 100% with a desirability value: 0.504, spreadability: 3.92±0.38cm; adhesiveness: 2.17±0.29 second, pH: 4.72±0.11; and viscosity: 12050±900.39cP (p<0.05). The release of cinchonine emulgel was 19.25% controlled. Observation of inhibition zone at 18 and 24 hours respectively for cinchonine emulgel preparation against Pseudomonas aeruginosa was 7.68±0.14 and 6.50±0.37mm, Staphylococcus aureus was 10.47±0.37 and 10.36±0.69mm compared to control (gentamicin ointment: 18.15±0.90, and 16.99±1.61mm; blank control: 0.00±0.00, and 0.00±0.00mm). Cinchonine emulgel had good stability during short-term storage.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas usaha produsen jamu gendong rumahan “Kedawung” di Sirampog, Brebes melalui intervensi teknologi produksi dan pemasaran digital. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pelatihan pembuatan jamu, pendampingan desain kemasan, implementasi mesin pencuci rimpang, pengering herba, dan pemeras, serta pelatihan WhatsApp Business. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi waktu produksi sebesar 80% (dari 4-5 jam menjadi 1 jam), penurunan AKK menjadi 286 CFU/mL yang sesuai dengan standar BPOM RI (<10³ CFU/mL), peningkatan pengetahuan peserta dari 71.07% menjadi 81.87%, dan terimplementasinya kemasan berlabel serta akun pemasaran digital. Untuk keberlanjutan, direkomendasikan pendampingan lanjutan untuk optimalisasi digital marketing, diversifikasi produk berbasis metode infusa, serta pengembangan sistem kontrol kualitas terstandar. Model intervensi holistik ini terbukti efektif dan dapat direplikasi untuk usaha mikro, kecil dan menengah sejenis

Abstract

Indonesia faces major challenges in the agricultural sector, such as dependence on inefficient traditional methods and vulnerability to climate change. Kembaran Wetan Village, Purbalingga Regency, as an area with high population density and a large proportion of the community dependent on agriculture, has been affected by drought and has limited land and knowledge of modern agricultural technology. Therefore, this community service activity aims to empower the community through the introduction and training of a simple hydroponic system as a solution for agriculture in limited land areas, as well as a driver of the village economy. The methods used are participatory, including coordination with village officials, identification of needs, theoretical and practical training in wick-system hydroponic cultivation, establishment of demonstration plots, and mentoring and evaluation. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, as evidenced by an increase in the average evaluation score from 33.75 to 80.75. Participants, consisting of housewives and young people, were able to independently assemble hydroponic systems, sow pakcoy seeds, and care for plants. In addition, a demonstration plot was built to serve as a medium for continuous education. This activity successfully fostered motivation and changed the community's attitude towards the use of appropriate technology. In conclusion, hydroponic training has proven effective as a first step toward empowering the community to improve food security and expand economic opportunities. For sustainability, further assistance, institutional strengthening of the group, and integration of the program into village policies are needed to ensure optimal, independent economic impact.
