Abstract

Mikoriza arbuskula adalah mikrobia tanah yang memiliki peran dalam meningkatkan ketersediaan air bagi tanaman melalui perpanjangan hifa sehingga dapat menjangkau pada daerah yang lebih luas. Mikoriza arbuskula merupakan mikrobia tanah yang dapat berkembang pada sistem agroforestri dan monokultur. Informasi mikoriza yang dapat bersimbiosis dengan Porang baik secara agroforestri dan monokultur belum banyak dipublikasikan. Oleh sebab itu perlu identifikasi spora yang ada di rizosfer Porang sehingga nantinya dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan baku pupuk berbasis mikoriza arbuskula untuk tanaman Porang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi mikoriza arbuskula yang berada di rizosfer Porang pada berbagai sistem pertanaman. Penelitian tentang fungi mikoriza arbuskula di rizosfer Porang dilakukan di lahan agroforestri dan monokultur yang memiliki jenis  tanah latosol. Lahan penelitian berada di Desa Mrayan, Kecamatan Ngrayun kabupaten Ponorogo Jawa timur Indonesia dan dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2020. Sampel tanah diambil secara acak di tiga lahan yang berbeda yaitu agroforestri berbasis pinus, agroforestri berbasis sengon dan monokultur. Sampel tanah diambil disekitar perakaran tanaman Porang. Sampel akar berupa akar halus porang. Spora mikoriza arbuskula diektrak dengan metode pengayaan basah dan kering. Identifikasi spora mikoriza arbuskula dilakukan dengan identifikasi morfologi. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan 3 genera yang terdiri dari 9 species yaitu Glomus (5 species), Acaulospora (2 speies) dan Gigaspora (2 species).  Kepadatan  spora tertinggi berjenis Glomus dan yang terkecil adalah Gigaspora.  Rata rata kepadatan spora adalah 56-105 spora/100 g tanah. Kepadatan spora tertinggi pada agroforestri berbasis pinus. Persentase infeksi akar berkisar antar 24-50%.  Persentase infeksi akar tertinggi pada agroforestri berbasis sengon.

Abstract

This study aims to isolate and select bacteria as a bioremediation agent for wastewater of cajeput factory. The waterwaste of cajuput factory has not been utilized for liquid organic fertilizer because it still contains cajeput oil (phenol compound) which can disrupt plant growth. Therefore it is necessary to look for bacteria that have the ability to integrate of management waterwaste. Waterwaste samples is taken by random sampling in tri locations, namely the initial shelter, the second shelter and the waste disposal area. Bacteria are developed in liquid media, then isolated and identified on solid media. Identification of bacteria based on colony morphology, cell morphology and biochemical testing. Phenol degradation test was carried out using a completely randomized design with tri replications. Treatment of types of bacterial isolates namely B0 = Control, B1 = Bacillus, B2 = Psedomonas, B3 = Flavobacterium. The results showed that there were tri bacterial isolates found in wastewater of cajuput factory namely Bacillus sp, Pseudomonas sp and Flavobacterium sp. The highest amount of bacterial colonies was found in waste shelters of 2.41 x 106 colonies. The most effective bacteria in degrading phenol is Pseudomonas sp

Abstract

Produksi kedelai pada tanah vertisol masih rendah dan limbah kayu putih jumlahnya meningkat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan kompos dari limbah kayu putih dan pupuk anorganik untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan, klorofil dan bintil akar kedelai. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok, dengan perlakuan kontrol, 150 NPK, kompos, kompos+50 NPK, kompos+100 NPK dan kompos+150 NPK. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa kedelai yang dipupuk kompos memiliki berat kering tajuk, jumlah cabang, jumlah klorofil dan bintil akar lebih tinggi dibanding tanpa pemupukan masing masing sebesar 116,31%, 52,00%, 22,05% dan 30,48%. Peningkatan dosis pupuk NPK yang dikombinasikan dengan kompos dapat meningkatkan tinggi tanaman tetapi menurunkan berat kering tajuk. Berat kering tajuk tertinggi pada pemupukan kompos yaitu sebesar 7,16 g/tanaman.

Abstract

Pengelolaan hutan saat ini harus memberikan akses atau hak izin  agar dapat  memberikan nilai tambah bagi masyarakat sekitar hutan. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan legalisasi masyarakat dalam mengakses dan mengelola kawasan hutan, pemerintah mengeluarkan kebijakan perhutanan sosial. Pengelolaan lahan hutan dengan sistem management regim sangat memerlukan partisipasi masyarakat, sehingga salah satunya pengelolaan lahan berbasis agroforestry. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peran masyarakat dalam pengelolaan hutan, dalam bidang pengembangan agroforestri. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi lapangan melalui wawancara langsung. Hasil yang didapatkan dari wawancara petani sebagai responden adalah sangat puas, puas dan kurang puas dengan persentase masing-masing 80%, 10%, 3%. Kepuasan petani terhadap sistem management regim  ini dipandang sebagai produk yang telah terbukti ampuh di dalam menghadapi perubahan  keamanan hutan dan lingkungan. Hal ini menjadi bukti bahwa pengelolaan  secara management regim  mampu mendukung kestabilan  pangan masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

Purpose : This study aims to analyze the characteristics of peat soil chemical properties due to differences in land use and differences in depth in Muara Sugihan District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. Methodology : Determination of sampling points using the purposive sampling method, soil sampling using the composite method, and the samples were analyzed in the Agrotechnology Unida Gontor laboratory. Soil samples were collected from several land-use types, namely agriculture, plantations, and natural forests. Soil pH analysis was carried out using 1 N KCl solution, The Walkley and Black method determined organic carbon, Total nitrogen was analyzed using the Kjeldahl method, Available phosphorus was analyzed using Bray I, exchangeable potassium was analyzed using 1 N NH4 Acetate extraction pH 7 and measured with a flame photometer, Cation exchange capacity using the 1N NH4 Acetate Extract method on basic cations, and base saturation is the result of base cations and exchangeable potassium, while organic acids were analyzed using the spectrophotometric method. Results : The results of laboratory analysis show that the conversion of forest land into agricultural land shows better prospects than the conversion into plantation land. Findings : Higher organic matter content in agricultural land is crucial for long-term sustainability and as a foundation for soil fertility. Conclusion. Differences in the depth pattern of the topsoil (0-30) cm and subsoil (30-60) layers also indicate that agricultural practices such as tillage, crop rotation, and the application of organic matter can distribute nutrients more evenly in the soil profile. Abstract

Grumusol soil has considerable potential for crop cultivation; however, its productivity is often constrained by unfavorable physical and chemical properties. This study evaluated the effects of different vermicompost sources and Grumusol soils from two land-use types on the growth and nitrogen (N) uptake of sweet corn (Zea mays L.). A two-factor factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications was employed. The first factor comprised four vermicompost treatments: no vermicompost (control), chicken manure vermicompost, cattle manure vermicompost, and market waste vermicompost. The second factor was Grumusol soil collected from paddy fields and dryland. Plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, fresh biomass, dry biomass, and nitrogen uptake were measured. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% significance level. Vermicompost source significantly affected plant height at 35 days after planting (DAP) and nitrogen uptake. Market waste vermicompost produced the highest nitrogen uptake, whereas cattle manure and market waste vermicomposts resulted in greater plant height at 35 DAP than the other treatments. Grumusol soil origin significantly affected plant height, stem diameter, fresh biomass, dry biomass, and nitrogen uptake but had no significant effect on leaf number. Sweet corn grown in Grumusol soil from dryland exhibited superior vegetative growth and nitrogen uptake compared with plants grown in Grumusol soil from paddy fields. These findings suggest that market waste vermicompost, particularly when applied to Grumusol soil from dryland, can serve as an effective nutrient management strategy for improving sweet corn growth and nitrogen uptake.
