Abstract

Areca palm plants in Kubu Raya Regency have the advantage of being an export commodity. The aim of this research is to develop a strategy by identifying key factors in the development of areca nut commodities in Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency. The research method was carried out using a survey method. Data collection method using FGD. The analysis method uses SWOT. The research results show that the potential for areca nut development is strong, supported by the availability of suitable land. farmer motivation, available labor and superior varieties. Abstract

Biji pinang merupakan bahan baku penting dalam bidang industri dan farmasi. Saat ini pinang sudah menjadi salah satu komoditas ekspor dari sub sektor perkebunan, sehingga merupakan alternatif yang sangat sesuai untuk diversifikasi komoditas perkebunan di Kalimantan Barat. Kabupaten Kubu Raya merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Kalimantan Barat yang sudah mulai mengembangkan tanaman pinang, akan tetapi produksinya masih tergolong rendah. Keterbatasan akses terhadap informasi tentang teknologi, pasar, maupun informasi penting lainnya menjadi penghambat kemajuan petani, oleh karena itu diperlukan banyak upaya untuk membantu petani pinang dalam menghadapi permasalahannya. Upaya yang perlu dilakukan saat ini adalah pengadaan basis data kebun agar pemerintah dapat membuat kebijakan dan tindakan yang ditujukan untuk memberdayakan kebun pinang di Kabupaten Kubu Raya, dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan petaninya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data tentang keragaan kebun dan karakteristik petani pinang di Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir semua petani pinang (86,7%) di lokasi penelitian menanam pinang secara polikultur, dan belum menjalankan usahataninya sesuai dengan “good agricultural pratice” sehingga produktivitas pinang yang diusahakan masih tergolong rendah secara kuantitas maupun kualitas. Pemasaran biji pinang kering juga belum efisien. Peran pemerintah dan lembaga terkait diperlukan untuk memberikan pelatihan, bimbingan, pendampingan, dan informasi pasar pada petani pinang di Kabupaten Kubu Raya.

Abstract

Penggunaan tanah aluvial sebagai media tanam memiliki beberapa tantangan, seperti struktur tanahnya yang padat dan kandungan hara yang rendah. Terlepas dari masalah ini, upaya telah dilakukan untuk memperbaiki tanah aluvial dengan menambahkan bokashi ampas tebu dan pupuk NPK. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jalan Reformasi Gg. Struktur Untan. Penelitian ini bertujuan sebagai berikut: (1) mengetahui adanya interaksi antara bokashi ampas tebu dan NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kubis bunga di tanah aluvial dan (2) mendapatkan dosis terbaik bokashi ampas tebu dan NPK untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil kubis bunga di tanah aluvial. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua faktor perlakuan, yaitu faktor bokashi ampas tebu (K) dan faktor pupuk NPK (P). Setiap faktor memiliki tiga taraf perlakuan, dan setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali dengan empat sampel per perlakuan. Faktor ampas tebu bokashi (K) meliputi perlakuan sebagai berikut: k1 = 15 ton/ha, k2 = 20 ton/ha, dan k3 = 25 ton/ha. Faktor pupuk NPK (P) meliputi perlakuan sebagai berikut: P1 = 200 kg/ha, P2 = 300 kg/ha, dan P3 = 400 kg/ha. Beberapa variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini antara lain jumlah daun, umur muncul bunga (HST), diameter tanaman (cm), berat kering tanaman (g), berat segar tanaman (g), berat segar tanaman (g), volume akar (cm3), dan umur panen (HST). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada interaksi antara bokashi ampas tebu bokashi dan pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kubis bunga di tanah aluvial. Namun, pemberian ampas tebu bokashi dengan dosis 20 ton/ha memberikan hasil terbaik untuk berat segar tanaman dan  krop kubis bunga di tanah aluvial. Namun pemberian pupuk NPK dengan berbagai dosis tidak memberikan hasil yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil kubis bunga di tanah aluvial.  Kata kunci : Tanah aluvial, Bokashi Ampas tebu, kubis bunga, NPK

Abstract

Rhizophora merupakan salah satu jenis tumbuhan mangrove yang termasuk dalam famili Rhizophorazceae dan termasuk dalam kelompok tumbuhan tropis bersifat halofitik atau toleran garam yang dapat ditemukan di Mempawah Mangrove Center (MMC) yang terletak di Desa Pasir, Kabupaten Mempawah. Jenis mangrove ini juga memberikan manfaat bagi lingkungan, antara lain mampu melindungi pemukiman dari angin laut dan ombak. Daun bakau mengandung senyawa bioaktif seperti alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid dan tanin yang merupakan antioksidan yang sangat bermanfaat bagi kesehatan. Oleh karena itu daun mangrove mempunyai potensi untuk diolah menjadi makanan olahan berupa brownies kukus sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai gizi produk, meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat setempat dan juga meningkatkan nilai ekonomi dari daun mangrove itu sendiri. Pelatihan pembuatan brownies kukus dari daun mangrove ini diharapkan sejalan dengan upaya konservasi dan rehabilitasi mangrove sebagaimana misi utama MMC dengan melibatkan pengelola MMC.

Abstract

Naruto Kintoki sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) is a superior variety valued for its sweet taste and soft texture, but its cultivation in Indonesia remains limited. This study aimed to examine the interaction between rice husk biochar application and harvest age on the yield of Naruto Kintoki grown in ultisol soil. The research was conducted in the Pontianak Kota District, from September 2024 to February 2025. A factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used with two factors: biochar (2, 4, and 6 tons/ha) and harvest age (90, 105, and 120 days). Results showed significant interaction effects on growth and yield. A harvest age of 120 days with 4 tons/ha biochar produced the longest main vine (176.79 cm) and the largest tuber diameter (55.28 mm). The highest tuber number (4.60) and tuber weight (447.51 g) were found with 120 days and 6 tons/ha biochar. This study contributes to scientific knowledge by demonstrating how biochar and harvest timing influence both yield and tuber quality. It supports the sustainable cultivation of Naruto Kintoki in acidic, nutrient-poor ultisol soils and provides a model for optimizing sweet potato production on marginal tropical lands.

Abstract

West Kalimantan has a tropical forest area that still holds a lot of potential plants as ingredients for spices, seasonings, and food coloring. Study This aim for register types plants that are used as spices, seasonings and colorings food by the community Dayak tribe of Regency Kubu Raya so that plant the can documented with good. Research This is study descriptive exploratory with approach qualitative method data collection carried out in a way triangulation with technique interviews, observations, and documentation. Selection respondents use technique purposive sampling, namely respondents chosen in a way on purpose based on criteria certain. Research results show there is as many as 57 types plants used by the community Dayak tribe of Regency Kubu Raya as spices, seasonings and colorings food. From 57 types these plants, 13 are classified as plant spices, 38 types plant spices, and 10 types plant colorings food.

Abstract

The use of plants as spices, seasonings, and food colorings has been an important part of traditional Malay cuisine and beverages in Pontianak City. However, the influx of modern culture and the increasing use of instant ingredients have caused local knowledge regarding the use of these plants to gradually decline. This study aims to determine the types of plants used and their parts in traditional Malay cuisine in Pontianak City. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were obtained through observation, documentation, and interviews with cooks and spice and spice traders. The results showed that there are 25 plant species used by the community, consisting of 11 types of spice plants, 11 types of herbs, and 4 types of natural food coloring plants. Each plant has a specific function based on the part used, such as rhizomes, leaves, fruits, seeds, and bark. These findings illustrate that traditional knowledge regarding plant utilization is still maintained through inheritance from generation to generation, both orally and directly in daily cooking practices. The diversity of plants used not only enriches the flavor and color of dishes but also reflects the local wisdom of the Malay community in Pontianak City in preserving culinary culture. Efforts to preserve this knowledge are important considering its great potential as a source of learning biology based on local wisdom and its contribution to understanding biodiversity in the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Ubi jalar (Ipomoea batatas L.) adalah tanaman palawija yang berperan penting sebagai komoditas pangan vital di Indonesia, berkontribusi secara strategis terhadap ketahanan pangan nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan 60 stek ubi jalar dari aksesi ARF-14, tanah Podsolik Kuning Merah (PMK), kotoran puyuh, dan 60 polybag berukuran 50x50 cm. Bahan tambahan termasuk lem tikus, pestisida nabati yang berasal dari tembakau, pupuk NPK mutiara dengan komposisi 16-16-16, dan kapur dolomit dengan daya netralisasi 101,43%. Faktor-faktor yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini antara lain panjang sulur (cm), jumlah cabang, jumlah umbi per tanaman (buah), panjang umbi (cm), diameter umbi (cm), dan berat segar bagian udara tanaman (gram). Data penelitian dievaluasi dengan memanfaatkan hasil Uji Perbedaan Riil ANOVA, dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ pada tingkat signifikansi 5% untuk memastikan perbedaan antar perlakuan tercapai. Hasil Uji Diferensial menunjukkan bahwa penerapan kotoran puyuh pada dosis yang berbeda secara signifikan mempengaruhi panjang sulur pada 2 MST dan 13 MST, berat segar tanaman atas, jumlah umbi per tanaman, berat umbi per tanaman, dan diameter umbi, sementara tidak memiliki efek signifikan pada jumlah cabang dan panjang umbi. Pemanfaatan kotoran puyuh berpengaruh positif terhadap pertumbuhan dan produktivitas ubi jalar di tanah Podsolik Merah Kuning. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa menambah dosis kotoran puyuh meningkatkan kesuburan tanah dan meningkatkan aktivitas fisiologis tanaman, sehingga menyarankannya sebagai dosis ideal untuk meningkatkan hasil ubi jalar di lahan marjinal Kata Kunci : Pupuk Kandang, Burung Puyuh, Ubi Jalar, Aksesi arf-14, Podsolik Merah Kuning

Smallholder rubber farmers play a crucial role in maintaining the sustainability of the rubber sector in Indonesia; however, their productivity and management practices remain suboptimal. This study assessed the agronomic practices of 470 smallholder rubber farmers in Sintang District, West Kalimantan, Indonesia, using a descriptive-quantitative approach. Data were collected through structured interviews and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation to examine relationships among human resource capacity, socio-economic conditions, and agronomic performance. The results indicate that the majority of farmers are in the productive age group, have low to moderate education, and rely on rubber farming as their primary livelihood. However, farmers tend to prioritize routine operational tasks, such as tapping and latex collection, while key agronomic practices that require more technical knowledge and capital—such as fertilization, the use of certified planting materials, and pest and disease control—remain under-implemented. Correlations indicate that education and access to extension services are positively correlated with the adoption of better agronomic practices, including the use of certified seeds, recommended plant spacing, and proper fertilization. Social roles and group participation also show significant relationships with collective agronomic behavior. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening farmer capacity and institutional support to promote productive and sustainable rubber cultivation among smallholder farmers in Sintang District, West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Abstract

Inventory and Analysis of Barriers to Increasing Areca Nut Productivity in Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency. Areca nut productivity in Kubu Raya Regency is relatively low, at around 0.86 tons/ha, compared with the national average of 1.53 tons/ha. This indicates that there are still many problems in areca nut farming in Kubu Raya Regency. Based on this, research is needed to inventory and analyze obstacles to increasing areca nut productivity, with the results informing recommendations for policy interventions in Kubu Raya Regency. The research was conducted in Punggur Besar Village, Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency, and is a descriptive study using a survey method with respondents as research objects. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire to obtain systematic, objective information on farmer characteristics, technical, economic, and external obstacles experienced in running areca nut farming, while secondary data were obtained from relevant agencies and the literature. The results of the study concluded that areca nut farming in Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency is still faced with various obstacles, namely: (1) farmers' limited access to information and technology about good and correct areca nut cultivation, (2) farmers can only sell dried areca nuts to collectors at low prices, (3) farmers do not have access to other sources of financing besides their income, and (4) the role of institutions has not been fully felt by farmers, there has been no special guidance and ongoing technical assistance regarding areca nut farming including its financing.
