Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever’s still a health problem in Indonesia, this is due to its increasing prevalence from year to year. Various obstacles can be found to reduce dengue cases, including the level of knowledge and behavior to prevent dengue. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the behavior of mothers in the prevention of DHF at the Genuk Public Health Center, Semarang. The research was conducted from August 2022 to September 2022. The type of research used was analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach, the number of samples used in this research was 126 samples of mothers who were taken by non-probability sampling with consecutive sampling, and the instrument used was a questionnaire with data analysis using Spearman rho. The results showed that from 126 samples, it was found that mothers who had a high level of knowledge 89.7% respondents, mothers with low knowledge levels 10.3% respondents, and mothers who had good preventive behavior towards dengue prevention were 74.6% of respondents, mothers with poor preventive behavior were 25.4%. Spearman rho test analysis obtained a p-value <0.05 (p = 0.001) so there was a relationship between the level of knowledge and the mother's behavior in preventing DHF, and the r value was 0.2-<0.4 (r = 0.283) with a weak relationship. The results of the bivariate analysis that there was a significant relationship between the variable level of knowledge and the behavior of mothers in preventing DHF.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of reality counseling containing local wisdom in increasing students' self-acceptance. The research method used is quantitative. The sample in this study was 33 students in class VII.1 of junior high school. The data collection method uses a questionnaire. Then, the data was analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test (U-test). The results of the research found that the average student's self-acceptance score before being given the Reality Counseling intervention with Local Wisdom Content (pretest) was 138.1. Then the average student self-acceptance score after being given the intervention (posttest) was 110.56. There was a decrease in scores before and after the intervention of Reality Counseling activities containing Local Wisdom by 27.54. Then, after being analyzed using the nonparametric statistical test Mann Whitney U Test, the Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) was 0.034. Thus, it can be concluded that Reality Counseling activities containing Local Wisdom have a significant influence in reducing students' low self-acceptance. Reality counseling containing local wisdom can be an alternative in increasing students' self-acceptance so that they become students who are confident, enthusiastic and independent.

Abstract

Stunting is problem global health that is hampering development children, where the prevalence in Indonesia (21.6%) is still above the WHO target (20%). District Pati, especially the work area Community Health Center Gabus II, has prevalence sufficient stunting significant that is by 20.28%. One of them effort prevention stunting is through giving immunization base complete. For know connection between completeness immunization toddler with incident stunting in the work area Community Health Center Gabus II Regency Starch. Type this research is studies observational with design research conducted at the Community Health Center Cork II. Sample study totaling 76 toddlers, consisting of from group cases and controls. Data were collected through questionnaires and notes KIA book, then analyzed using statistical tests Chi-Square. Analysis bivariate show existence significant relationship between completeness immunization with incident stunting with mark p-value 0.010 (p < 0.05). The Odds Ratio (OR) value of 0.000 (95% CI: 0.113-0.759) indicates that immunization base complete play a role as factor protector to incident stunting. There is connection between completeness immunization toddler with incident stunting in the work area Community Health Center Gabus II Regency Pati. Toddlers who get immunization base complete own risk more low For experience stunting compared to toddler with immunization No complete.

Abstract

Inflammation is a defensive response that eliminates lesions caused by injury and can be induced by 1% carrageenan, leading to increased blood neutrophil, leukocyte, and platelet counts. Astaxanthin and vitamin E are antioxidants with potential anti-inflammatory properties; however, the effects of their combination remain underexplored. This study evaluates the impact of combined astaxanthin and vitamin E administration on neutrophil, leukocyte, and platelet counts in white male Wistar rats using a carrageenan-induced inflammation model with a Post Test Only Control Group Design. Thirty white male Wistar rats were selected using a simple random sampling method and randomly assigned into three groups: KN (normal), KS (disease, induced with 1% carrageenan), and KP (treatment, receiving astaxanthin 0.72 mg/kgBW and vitamin E 24.1 mg/kgBW with 1% carrageenan). Following treatment, neutrophil, leukocyte, and platelet counts were measured using a hematology analyzer and subjected to normality and homogeneity testing, followed by parametric and nonparametric analyses with post hoc testing. The results show that combining astaxanthin and vitamin E has an anti-inflammatory effect by lowering neutrophil, leukocyte, and platelet counts in carrageenan-induced male Wistar rats.

Abstract

Carrageenan-induced inflammation binds to TLR-4, activating the NF-kβ pathway, which attracts macrophages to release proinflammatory cytokines, Interleukin-1 and Interleukin-6, leading to the production of CRP. Astaxanthin and vitamin E have anti-inflammatory effects, but their combined effects are poorly studied. This study examines whether astaxanthin combined with vitamin E reduces IL-6, IL-1, and CRP levels in male Wistar rats induced by carrageenan. This experiment used a post-test-only control-group design with groups: KN (standard feed), KS (1% carrageenan induction), and KP (combination of 0.72 mg/kgBW astaxanthin and 24.1 mg/kgBW vitamin E). ELISA was performed 24 hours after carrageenan induction. Parametric data analysis was performed, followed by a post hoc test. The results showed that IL-1 levels were highest in KS (1.61 pg/mL), followed by KP (0.42 pg/mL) and KN (0.28 pg/mL). Statistical analysis (one-way ANOVA and post hoc tests) identified significant differences among all groups (p<0.05). IL-6 levels decreased in KP (58.67 pg/mL) compared to KS (98.83 pg/mL). CRP levels were highest in KS (2.35 ng/mL), followed by KP (1.01 ng/mL) and KN (0.75 ng/mL), with KS showing a significant increase compared to KN (p<0.05). From these results, it can be concluded that the combination of astaxanthin and vitamin E has an anti-inflammatory effect on IL-6, IL-1, and CRP levels in male Wistar rats induced by carrageenan.
