Abstract

Children's lives today are marked by the sophistication of digital technology which has culminated in globalization. On the one hand, digital technology helps us in many ways, but on the other hand, it also poses problems for the development of children's character because they may not be able to use it properly as well as their parents hope. Therefore, without denying the positive benefits of digital technology for the dissemination of information and communication, it can also cause problems for the development of children's character, in particular, related to parenting patterns in the family and the internalization of values to strengthen their positive character. This article aims to describe parenting patterns in families in the era of digital technology which the author views as relevant for developing children's character. The writing method used in this research is qualitative. The results of this research show that the relevant parenting patterns in the era of digital technology are those based on the example of parents. Therefore, the main problem raised in this article is what are the threats and challenges of digital technology for children's character development? What parenting patterns in the era of digital technology are considered relevant for children's character development?

Abstract

Education is a wide terminology describing among others the transformative and liberatif activities of human being. One of the major aims of an education programme is to make a more balanced growth of a person’s characters, covering the intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical dimensions. In the light of Ki Hadjar Dewantara, the founder of Tamansiswa educational institution, one might say that education is an effort to advance the good characters (the inner strength and characters), the mind, and the body. For him, education is an effort to liberate the physical and spiritual aspects of a human being. Thus every activity in an education institution should be a process of humanisation that goes holistically, that is, physical, mental, spiritual, individual, sosial, cultural, dan natural growths. In line with this, a well educated person who has good characters may respect other people’s rights and could develop ecological concern. This article aims to explore how far education institutions can respond within the range of Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s concept of education to the globalization issues affecting our society today.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the reasons behind the importance of “religious moderation” to prevent radicalism in Indonesia. The method used in this paper is literature study (books, journals, encyclopedias, and dictionaries). The results of this study indicate that "religious moderation" has the opportunity to maintain the nobility of religion so that it remains relevant and significant for all ages. In conclusion, a significant and relevant religious vision and mission to bring beauty, peace, a sense of kinship and unity in social diversity becomes manifest in "religious moderation". Therefore, the call for "religious moderation" is imperative, namely: religion must be lived and practiced for the liberation of humans from extreme attitudes and actions that risk dehumanizing. In that perspective, religion should not be used as an instrument to justify destructive actions. Instead, make religion a source of creative inspiration to continuously improve the quality of human life everywhere.

Abstract

Kuda Lumping or ébég is a typical Sundanese traditional dance that requires the presence of spontaneity when it is played. In it, the elements of profane from the dance and the elements of sacred from its rituals are combined as a medium for the manifestation of the spiritual to the material. It is said that spiritual power is present in the human world through this spontaneity. This is why trance often occurs in the riders of Kuda Lumping as a medium for the presence of spiritual power. The Sundanese people with the Tri Tangtu philosophy believe that mediation through Kuda Lumping is a way for the community to communicate with Sang Hyang or Batara Tunggal. In this paper, the exploration of cultural hermeneutic studies on the Kuda Lumping dance will be discussed based on the dimensions of Tri Tangtu.

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to describe the philosophical values of the Principle of Belief in the One, Supreme God as the spirit of encounter and brotherhood in the context of religious plurality in Indonesia. The philosophical values in the first Principle, in addition to having a vertical dimension, also have a horizontal dimension. The vertical dimension is related to the human tendency to seek wholeness in God, while the horizontal dimension is related to the implications of faith in the practice of life, namely noble and commendable behavior towards fellow human beings. The findings of this study indicate that the philosophical values of the Principle of Belief in the One, Supreme God do not provide room for religious egoism in various forms of expression. The conclusion is that the principle of Belief in One, Supreme God strengthens encounter and brotherhood in the context of religious plurality in Indonesia. Relevant attitudes of faith to the Principle, horizontally, are being humble, open to plurality, respecting other religions, recognizing equal rights to religious freedom, and rejecting all forms of radical-extreme actions in the form of destructive actions in the name of God and religion. Discriminatory, intolerant, and exclusive attitudes in the practice of religious life in Indonesia are contrary to the principle of Belief in the One, Supreme God.AbstrakPenelitian dengan metode kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai filosofis Sila Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa sebagai spirit perjumpaan dan persaudaraan dalam konteks pluralitas agama di Indonesia. Nilai-nilai filosofis dalam Sila pertama tersebut selain berdimensi vertikal, juga berdimensi horizontal. Dimensi vertikal berkaitan dengan kecenderungan manusia untuk mencari keutuhan diri kepada Tuhan, sedangkan dimensi horizontal berkaitan dengan implikasi iman dalam praksis kehidupan, yakni perilaku mulia dan terpuji kepada sesama manusia. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai filosofis Sila Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa tidak memberi ruang bagi egoisme agama dalam berbagai bentuk pengungkapannya. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa Sila ”Ketuhanan yang Maha Esa” memperkuat perjumpaan dan persaudaraan dalam konteks pluralitas agama di Indonesia. Sikap iman yang relevan dengan Sila tersebut, secara horizontal, adalah  rendah hati, terbuka pada pluralitas, menghormati agama lain, mengakui kesetaraan hak atas kebebasan beragama, dan menolak segala bentuk tindakan radikal-ekstrem berupa aksi-aksi destruktif atas nama Tuhan dan agama. Sikap diskriminatif, intoleran, dan eksklusif dalam praksis kehidupan beragama di Indonesia bertentangan dengan Sila Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi filsafat pendidikan pragmatisme dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Metode dan pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan studi literatur, yang dilengkapi dengan data empiris hasil wawancara. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka, yakni dengan mengkaji beberapa buku, artikel ilmiah, dan jurnal yang relevan dan wawancara dengan sejumlah guru. Berdasarkan hasil kajian, ditemukan bahwa prinsip-prinsip pragmatisme seperti pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman, pemecahan masalah, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, serta pendidikan yang berpusat pada peserta didik memiliki relevansi yang kuat dengan konsep Kurikulum Merdeka yang menekankan fleksibilitas, kemandirian, serta pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka di Indonesia sejalan dengan orientasi pragmatisme dalam pendidikan, khususnya dalam mengembangkan karakter peserta didik yang berpikir kritis, adaptif, dan kolaboratif. Kajian ini juga menemukan bahwa peran guru/dosen mengalami pergeseran paradigmatik dari sekadar pemberi materi menjadi fasilitator pembelajaran yang mendorong eksplorasi, inovasi, dan kemandirian peserta didik. Sebagai implikasinya, penguatan pendekatan berbasis proyek dan asesmen autentik mengoptimalkan pengembangan karakter peserta didik, sehingga mampu menjadi individu yang kreatif, mandiri, dan adaptif terhadap tantangan zaman.

Abstract

This article intends to explore the concept of iki aesthetics and investigate its relevance to modern aesthetics. The method used in this article is qualitative, a literature study that specifically focuses on using the thoughts of the philosopher Kuki Shuzo in the book The Structure of Iki. The results show that iki consists of bitai, ikiji, and akirame and that iki is also still relevant for modern aesthetics. In conclusion, iki evokes a certain kind of sensibility through the tension that emerges through dualistic relationships. And this unique form of sensibility proves to still be very relevant in modern aesthetics. This is proven by the fact that Japanese aesthetics are also in demand by people outside of Japan and that there are still various inquiries into modern aesthetics whilst takin into account the role of iki.
