Abstract

One of the the soybean extract wastes is a solid waste in the form of soybean extract dregs. This waste can cause a pungent odor due to the fermentation process. Therefore, an action is needed to handle the process so that this waste does not damage the environment; one way is to convert soybean extract waste into dregs flour of soybean extract. Soybean dregs flour (okara) can be used as a substitute for making cake product. This study aims to determine the formulation of ingredients for making cakes, to analyze the level of preference of respondents on all parameters: color, aroma, taste, and texture of cake product, and to assess the efficiency level of utilization of the dregs waste of soybean extract into dregs flour of soybean extract (okara) in cake product made from the substitution of dregs flours of soybean extract (okara). Overall, the acceptance of cake products with a scale value above 3 means that the products is acceptable to the respondents. The efficiency of utilization solid waste from soybean extract processing in the form of soybean extract dregs to become dregs flour of soybean extract (okara) was 60%. Utilization of dregs flour of soybean extract (okara) as an alternative ingredient for making bakery products was able to substitute wheat flour in making cakes by 50%.

Abstract

Tabalong Regency with an area of 3.946 km2, has a forest area of 2,087 km2; featuring lively activity going on illegal logging. The impact of environmental losses arising from the practice of illegal logging currently has been very well perceived by the people who live inside and outside of the Tabalong Regency. A variety of protective measures and safeguards the forest against illegal logging practices have been implemented, but not yet a lot of fruition. This is because the efforts that have been made less touched on the main problems of illegal logging practices, so I need to know the primary cause factor of occurrence of illegal logging practices in order to be compiled a concrete action and policy formulation that is strategic in preventing illegal logging practices. This study aims to explore the main factors that led to the practice of illegal logging in Tabalong Regency, as well as how prevention strategies. This research uses qualitative research methods with approach case studies, using interview techniques, observation and study of the literature. The results showed that the main factor is the cause of rampant illegal logging practices in Tabalong Regency is not effectively monitoring and control the administering of wood in preventing the occurrence of illegal logging practices. This is the cause of the occurrence a mode of “bleaching” against the wood results in illegal logging. Strategy of prevention of illegal logging in Tabalong Regency will need to be directed at efforts to increase the effectiveness of oversight and control over the administering of wood in preventing the occurrence of illegal logging practices through the powers given to the provincial government as well as the County Government, including efforts to: (a) monitoring and control the administering forest products derived from forest rights and (b) monitoring and control the administering forest products on the timber industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of soil formation on overburden material in the reclamation area in 2013 (9 years), 2015 (7 years), and 2018 (4 years) to support the success of sustainable reclamation, and analyze the relationship between planting age, morphology and climate conditions in the study area that can affect the process of soil formation in the overburden. The research was conducted at a coal mining company located in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The research method used was descriptive quantitative. Data collection was done by making a test trench and taking soil profile data which includes topsoil thickness, intermediate layer, and overburden. Soil texture, soil color, and data on roots that penetrated the soil were also recorded and analyzed. The results of the test trench analysis showed that the process of soil formation in the overburden began to occur in the reclamation area in the 9th year (2013). The indicator found lateral roots in the soil layer at a depth of 40-60 cm which is an overburden layer with gray soil color. The correlation test showed a strong relationship between soil acidity (pH) and the year of planting (r2 = 0,74). The relationship between organic C elements and the year of planting (r2 = 0,68). The element N in the soil has a very strong relationship with the year of planting (r2 = 0,92). The next element was P2O5 in the soil having a moderate relationship (r2 = 0,46) and K2O elements had a strong relationship (r2 = 0,75). The results of soil chemical analysis and also soil texture showed that the soil fertility status at the study site was in low condition. This study concluded that the process of soil formation in overburden was found in the planting year area of 2013 or year 9, with indicators such as the appearance of roots in the overburden area at a depth of 20 - 40 cm, whereas in 2015 and 2018 no roots were found in the overburden. Climatic and morphological conditions accelerated the process of soil formation in the overburden because this very wet condition accelerated the process of leaching nutrients to the surface layer of the reclamation area. The process of weathering in the soil, especially in overburden, will cause plant roots to enter the overburden layer by bringing nutrients produced by trees, undergrowth, and litter to the research area.

Abstract

PT Borneo Indobara as the holder of a Borrow-to-Use Forest Area Permit and has obligations as the executor of rehabilitation activities. Forest development activities through rehabilitation, especially on critical land in watershed areas (DAS) are one of the efforts that can be made to reduce the adverse effects of forest degradation. Watershed management is a series of efforts made by humans to rationally utilize watershed natural resources in order to fulfill their daily needs and improve their standard of living. Analyzing the success of the activity by looking at the percentage of growth of watershed rehabilitation plants at PT. Borneo Indobara, Artain Village, Evaluate the implementation of activities in the field with the Technical Design on plant growth factors, Analyze the types of plants with the requirements for plant growth, Make recommendations in the Technical Design activities on plant growth factors. The average yield of growth (height and diameter) of plants in 45 land units was 0.67 in height and 0.625 in diameter, 33 in 0.53 in height and 0.475 in land units, 0.57 in 52 in height and 0.505 in diameter. The percentage of survival on land unit 45 was 65.56%, land unit 33 was 64.17%, land unit 52 was 66.36%. Based on the analysis of plant survival percentage, it shows that the average survival percentage of plants is still below 65%, this means that the selected watershed rehabilitation plants need to be evaluated. sea sengon, mahogany, johar, pioneer species of trembesi which are relatively adapted to thin solums. Plant recommendation models are proposed for reclamation plant improvement starting from technical design, to field application so that reclamation plants can show high plant success.

Abstract

One of the policies of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia related to the contribution in reducing the effect of greenhouse gases is to terminate or discontinue the construction permit for coal-fired Steam Power Plants, which will begin gradually in 2025. This policy is considered difficult to implement, because there are still many Coal Power Plant that are still operating in accordance with the permits issued by the Government. So in addition to the policy of retiring coal-fired power plants, the Government has implemented a policy of Co-firing Power Plant innovation for better environmental management and supporting sustainable development goals. Coal Power Plant PT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa (MSW) in South Kalimantan will implement the Power Plant Co-Firing policy. This study aims to analyze the amount of power plant greenhouse gas emissions so far, then project the amount of emissions until 2030 with the treatment of coal-fired power plants and co-firing power plants, and calculate the carbon uptake of plants in reforestation areas at PT MSW Power Plant. The method used is the data collection and calculation of Green House Gas Emissions (GHG) produced so far and then simulated calculations using waste pellets as co-firing fuel, using the 2006 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines approach method. The calculation results The GHG emission is projected until 2030 using the Auto- Regressive Moving Average (ARIMA) method. The GHG emissions produced by the Power Plant are compared with the company's efforts so far by planting trees in the reforestation area of the PLTU. To assess these efforts, an evaluation of the GHG emissions produced by the ability of reforestation plants to absorb CO2 emissions has been carried out so far. The results of the study obtained that the GHG Emissions of the PT MSW Power Plant in 2021 amounted to 156,436 tons / year. From the results of data projections obtained for the next 9 years (until 2030) the results of gas emissions will decrease every year. Theresults of the inventory and estimation of the absorption capacity of plants in the reforestation area of PT MSW Power Plant with an area of 30,535.12 m², is 3,820.5 tons/year and carbon absorbed is 103.86 tons. With a total number of tree plants, an inventory of 2,764 trees was carried out.
