Abstract

Planting sengon plants requires high-quality seeds that have high germination and vigor. Sengon seeds have a period of dormancy caused by hard seed coats. Breaking dormancy of sengon seeds needs to be done by soaking in hot water as a pretreatment so that the seed coat is softer and more permeable. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of water temperature and immersion time on growth potential, germination capacity, and vigor index of sengon buto seeds and the effectiveness of water temperature and immersion time on growth of sengon buto seeds. Treatment A3 with 24-hour immersion (B2A3) is the best combination for the three parameters with each value of 80% growth potential, 88.33% germination, and 71.67% vigor index. The results showed that water temperature and soaking time had an effect on the germination response of sengon buto seeds. The most effective water temperature for sengon buto seeds in this study was 100˚C with a soaking time of 24 hoursPenanaman tanaman sengon memerlukan benih yang bermutu tinggi dan memilikii daya berkecambah dan vigor yang tinggi. benih sengon memiliki masa dormansi yang diakibatkan oleh kulit benih keras.

Abstract

Kaget Island, located in Tabunganen District, Barito Kuala Regency, is one of the mangrove areas located in the distal zone because this location includes locations far from the sea. Kaget Island Wildlife Reserve is one of the representatives of mangrove swamp forest ecosystem types. The purpose of this study was to analyze the index of importance in each inundation sub-type in the Kaget Island Wildlife Reserve Mangrove Forest and analyze the species diversity index and similarity index of various types of inundation sub-types obtained from important value indices in the region. The results obtained from this study that the important value index (INP) at each growth rate in the study location included in the criteria is low because there are few species found in all sub-types of inundation, especially at seedling and sapling, the highest INP at each growth rate found in the sub-type is always inundated. At the level of the lower plants are types of Cynum asiaticum L 66.51%, the level of seedlings is the type of Sonneratia caeseolaris 154.03%, the level of saplings is the type of Ficus annulata 200.00%, the level of pillars and trees is Sonneratia caeseolaris 256.09%. The level of diversity in the location of Kaget Island Mangrove Forest is classified as medium > 1 at the lower crop level, and at the level of the pole and tree classified as low ≤ 1. The similarity level in the shocked Mangrove Island Forest location is low because only the lower plants and pole and tree levels are has the same type, lower plant level has a high similarity value ≥ 80% and at the pole level and pophon has a medium similarity value ≤ 60%.Keywords: Mangrove; Important Value Index (INP); Diversity; Similarity

Abstract

The formation of soil properties is strongly influenced by the land physiography and land cover. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of land physiography (slope class) with slope classes 0-8%, 8-155, 15-25%, 25-45% and> 45% and land cover for the depth of soil solum and effective depth of roots. This research was carried out by the method: determining the slope class into five slope classes and land cover into two clusters of land cover. the design used was a factorial experiment with a slope factor A class divided into five levels and factor B land cover into two levels with replications twice. Data analysis using variance analysis (ANOVA). The results showed that land cover showed a variety of types of land cover vegetation, in vegetation areas shrubs were dominated by weeds while in the old scrub land dominated by tapus and rubber species, the amount of land cover significantly (P <0.005) in the depth of soil solum, the solum was shallower in steep slopes and little vegetation, vegetation cover (factor A) is the main factor the depth of the root is able to penetrate the soil because it depends on the land cover above, on vegetated land the bush's effective root depth is lower than the old scrub land (P <0.005) because the land cover above is dominated by thatch which has few roots and is unable to penetrate deeper into the soil layer, the percent size of the root depends on the rock percent, the less roots penetrate the soil (P <0.005) due to mechanical obstacles, and the large the small soil pH is influenced by organic matter and kel slime (P <0.005), the more organic matter the pH will decrease and the slower the slope it will cause the acidity of the soil to increase due to soil washing.

Abstract

One effort to increase crop productivity is to pay attention to the appropriate spacing. Using different spacing, the light intensity will be different, as a result it will affect plant growth. Based on this background, the author tries to examine the dimensions of the stands and roots of Nyawai at various spacing with the same age and treatment conditions, so that later it can be used as a planting reference for Nyawai with optimal growth. The spacing treatment used in this study was 2x2m, 3x3m and 4x4m, 6 observation plots as replications. Observation variables are diameter breast height (dbh), height and width of the crown. Keywords: Ficus; Nyawai; Dimentional of Stand; Plant Spacing
