Abstract

The lack of utilization of resources is the main factor for the low level of student learning independence, yet in reality, teachers still struggle to connect chemical concepts with everyday life contexts. The SETS approach-based e-module is an innovation in enhancing students' learning independence and learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the validity and practicality of the developed chemistry learning module. This research and development was carried out to produce an e-module product based on the SETS approach assisted by flip HTML5 on chemical equilibrium material that is valid, practical, and effective in increasing independent learning and student knowledge learning outcomes. The development model used is a 4D model which consists of 4 phases, 1) Define, 2) Design, 3) Development, and 4) Disseminate. The purposive sampling technique was used as a sampling technique, namely students of class XI MIPA 1 at SMAN 10 Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques included questionnaires (validation sheets, product practicality, product effectiveness) and learning achievement tests. The results showed that the e-module: (1) is very valid with an average percentage of 90.98%, (2) is very practical, based on readability tests, response questionnaires, and observation sheets with an average score of 4.34, and (3) is effective in increasing learning independence and knowledge learning outcomes in terms of the N-gain learning independence of 0.45 in the medium category and the N-gain of knowledge learning outcomes of 0.71 in the high category. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that e-modules based on the SETS approach assisted by HTML5 flip media are appropriate for use in chemistry learning, especially in chemical equilibrium material.

Abstract

The achievement of learning targets is largely determined by how learning facilitates the needs of participants. Interest is one of the important points that teachers need to be aware of, especially in higher education environments to produce competent and resilient students (prospective teachers). The purpose of the research was to detect the interests of chemistry education students quantitatively and other themes that related to their lives. The quantitative approach was the method used in the study because it was in line with the data collection technique, namely the questionnaire technique with quantitative analysis. The results showed that the theme interest œeveryday life with the topic of food has the largest percentage, namely 86%, while the least theme was textile dyeing (58.30%) by chemical processes theme. Other additional themes revealed that social media (digital technologies) has 75.50% while teaching & learning and diversity have percentages of 64.70% and 59%, respectively. The conclusion was that detecting elements of interest in students could be supporting data for designing chemistry learning considering the changes in the mindset of the young generation due to digital culture. This research can also be used as a needs analysis in learning because a great interest in learning affects students™ academic performance. Research findings also give be a provision for students when they become teachers so that this research can be used in the school environment.

Abstract

Anticipating a less-than-optimal learning process to facilitate students in developing 6C Skills, it is necessary to develop wetland-based teaching E-modules using the Scientific Critical Creative Thinking (SCCrT) model with the help of Liveworksheets. This study aims to analyze the validity of a wetland-based chemistry teaching e-module using the SCCrT model assisted by Liveworksheets to enhance students' 6C skills. This research and development (R&D) study uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), focusing on the Analysis, Design, and Development stages. The research method employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through a validation process in which five expert validators filled out a validation sheet. This process aimed to gather valuable feedback on the design and development of the e-module being created. The validation results were then analyzed using a Likert scale, and they indicated that the module is highly valid based on content, presentation, language, and media. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the wetland-based chemistry e-learning module with the SCCrT model, supported by Liveworksheets, has proven to be valid and is highly feasible for use in improving students' 6C skills in an effective way.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the low level of students critical thinking skills (CTS) in chemistry learning caused by ineffective learning models that do not support CTS development. The importance of CTS has not been reflected in classroom practices. Therefore, this study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of a TPACK-integrated discovery learning-based E-worksheet in improving students CTS on colloidal materials. This research uses the research and development (RD) method with the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subject CTS consisted of five validators and 33 students of class XII Science 1 at SMAN 1 Alalak. Data were collected using test and non-test instruments, and analyzed descriptively to determine the levels of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed e-worksheet. The results show that: (1) the e-worksheet is highly valid based on content, presentation, language, and media aspect CTS; (2) it is very practical based on readability tests, student and teacher responses, and teacher ability and learning implementation observations; and (3) it is effective, as evidenced by the significant improvement of students CTS categorized as high. In conclusion, the TPACK-integrated discovery learning-based e-worksheet is valid, practical, and effective as a teaching material in chemistry learning on colloidal materials to enhance students CTS

Abstract

The low level of science literacy and higher-order thinking skills among Indonesian students, as indicated by PISA results, necessitates more interactive and contextual learning innovations. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the SCCrT model assisted by Augmented Reality (AR) in improving students’ critical thinking, creative thinking, and science literacy in chemical bonding topics. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design involving 11th-grade students at SMAN 1 Alalak and SMAN 12 Banjarmasin. The research instruments consisted of critical thinking, creative thinking, and science literacy tests. The results showed that the experimental groups achieved higher average post-test scores than the control groups across all variables. In critical thinking, the scores were higher in the experimental classes (82.85 and 83.56) than in the control classes (75.00 and 74.00). Creative thinking scores were higher in the experimental classes (81.54 and 82.4) than in the control classes (73.85 and 72.72). Similarly, scientific literacy scores were higher in the experimental classes (81.79 and 83.71) than in the control classes (74.47 and 73.44). Independent sample t-tests indicated significant differences between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05) with Cohen’s d values exceeding 0.78, indicating a substantial effect. Student observations and responses also revealed positive engagement during SCCrT–AR learning activities. In conclusion, the AR-assisted SCCrT model is effective in enhancing students’ critical and creative thinking, as well as their science literacy, and represents a promising alternative for chemistry learning in the digital era.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills and knowledge learning outcomes are very important for students in today's chemistry learning. However, the results of the PISA test, preliminary studies, and previous research indicate that both aspects still need to be improved. This study uses an R & D approach utilizing the ADDIE model to create a chemical bond e-magazine based on the SCT model that is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing critical thinking skills and knowledge learning outcomes. This study involved five expert validators and 66 grade XI students of SMA Negeri 8 Banjarmasin. The data were gathered through questionnaires, observation sheets, and tests, and then analyzed descriptively. The findings revealed that (1) the e-magazine produced demonstrated a high level of validity (90%) in terms of content, presentation, language, and media, (2) practical with an average score of 88%, and (3) effective with an N-Gain of 0.71 (critical thinking) and 0.75 (knowledge) categorized as high, with an average achievement score of 83%.
