Abstract

Food waste in urban areas is an endless problem, considering that waste will continue to exist. The technique of managing waste to become an alternative feed for catfish is one of the steps to overcome the problem of waste and at the same time becomes an alternative fish feed solution for fish cultivators. The purpose of this research is to process food waste into fish feed. The method used in writing this article is literature review. Based on the results of the literature review and the author's analysis, it can be concluded that food ingredients that can be processed into catfish feed are food waste by utilizing fermentation or by mixing or formulated with other raw materials such as (fish meal, magot, tofu dregs, and fine bran). The fermentation process can use fishery products sold in the market, including (EM4, Boster, etc) which are mixed with molasses

Abstract

Shredded fish is a processed fishery product consisting of fish meat or seasoned, processed fish. This research aimed to analyse the business capital, profit, and feasibility of processing shredded Layang fish. This study was undertaken at Thanko Shredded Fish MSMEs in Jembrana, Bali from April to May 2022. The research employed observation of the process of shredded Layang from receiving raw materials to packaging and storing finished products. The data was analysis utilised cost, revenue, profit, efficiency and business risk analysis methods. The findings of this study indicated that the business of selling shredded Layang fish can generate business profits. The business has a capital of IDR. 57,501,093 and produces 2,880 packets of shredded Layang fish each year at a selling price of IDR. 25,000 per 100 grammes. An annual revenue of IDR 72,000,000 will generate a profit of Rp 14,498,907. With a selling price of IDR 25,000, the shredded Layang fish firm will Break Even Point or repay the money in less than a year if it can manufacture 2,290 units or more. The business feasibility research indicates that the shredded Layang fish business can be profitable with a payback period of less than one year.

Abstract

Catfish is one type of freshwater cultured fish that has the potential to be developed. Cultivation with advanced technology in intensive systems requires more feed intake good quality pellet feed is needed but at an affordable price. The problem of the high cost of cultivating catfish is a challenge that must be resolved. Activities were carried out in 3 stages including counseling and workshops, planning, the practice of making fish feed pellets, and monitoring and evaluating. The results in the activities of catfish farmers conveyed problems and exchanged experiences of the problems experienced. Furthermore, to find out the sustainability of the program, the team conducted monitoring and evaluation and the activities continued even though there were few problems.

Abstract

The community service carried out in Sanur Kauh Village, Denpasar-Bali aims to increase the knowledge and skills of village youth in managing household waste and utilizing it in eco-enzymes. Youth involvement in waste sorting at the household level is still low, the evidence being that only 7% of youth are regularly involved in waste sorting. The youth argued that waste management in the household was already carried out by parents. 2 young people had attended eco-making training but had never put it into practice because they had only attended the training once. Eco-enzyme production from fruit and vegetable waste, apart from being able to reduce the volume of waste, also produces products of economic value. One of the eco-enzymes can be used as an air freshener.
