Abstract

Community service is carried out to solve problems faced by the community. One of the problems local chicken farmers face is the limited quality of feed resources. Therefore, community service was provided by training on making fermented feed made from local resources as feed for native chickens. This activity was carried out in the Manuk Amerta Group, Asahduren Village, Pekutatan District, Jembrana-Bali.This activity was organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Animal Husbandry UNSRAT Manado. Training activities run well and are helpful in realizing feed independence by utilizing local potential agricultural waste. Mentoring activities are still needed for program sustainability. Fermented feed has better nutritional value and is preferred by livestock to increase livestock production.

Abstract

Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) is one alternative as a substitute for corn in rations, it is known that the nutrient content of sorghum is not much different from the nutrition of corn. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sorghum use as a substitute for corn in the ration on the weight of the carcass part and what percentage of sorghum substitution level had an effect on the weight of the carcass parts. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. In each replication using 3 CP 707 broiler chickens aged 2 weeks with homogeneous body weight. The treatment is R0 (control ration without sorghum use), R1 (ration + 7% use of sorghum), R2 (ration + 14% use of sorghum), R3 (ration + 21% use of sorghum), R4 (ration + 28% use of sorghum). Variables observed were weight of the chest, weight of the wing, weight of the thigh, weight of the back. The results showed that the use of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) as a substitute for corn at all levels had no significant effect on all parts of the carcass of broiler aged six weeks and the level of use of 21% sorghum tended to increase the weight of the carcass parts.

Abstract

Sprouts waste is a potential source of poultry feed and its availability is quite a lot in the market. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving fermented bean sprouts flour in the ration of 5 weeks old male quail on the weight of non-carcass grower-finisher phase, and to determine the fermentation level of bean sprouts flour waste in the ration affecting the non-carcass weight of quail. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. Each replication consisted of 3 male quail, so the number of male quails used was 48. The treatments applied in this study were as follows rations without fermented bean sprouts flour as a control and rations containing fermented bean sprouts waste flour 5%, 10%, and 15%. The parameters observed were blood weight, reed, legs, head, and neck. The data obtained were analyzed for variance. From the results of the study that the provision of fermented bean sprouts waste flour in the commercial ration of male quail in the grower-finisher phase showed insignificant differences (P> 0.05) on blood, reeds, legs, head, and neck, except for intestinal weight. real (P <0.05) at the 15% level. From this research, it can be concluded that giving tougeh waste flour has no effect on the non-carcass grower-finisher phase

Abstract

The increasing demand for broiler chickens occurs because the shift in people's consumption patterns from food sources of vegetable protein to food sources of livestock protein is expected to continue to increase and continue in the future. One of the factors that can influence the success of broiler chicken production is external factors, where external factors include chicken seeds (DOC), death/mortality rates, feed, labor and marketing. The aim of this research is to find out whether external factors of breeders have an influence on broiler chicken production in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province and to find out what indicators of external factors of breeders have the most dominant influence on broiler chicken production in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. The population of this study were all broiler chicken breeders who live in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. The number of samples for this research was 57 samples taken using the purposive random sampling method. The design used in this research was a survey method. In this research, the data collection method used was a questionnaire. Data collection was carried out by means of interviews, observations and questionnaires. The collected data was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that from the T test results, DOC (X1), Feed (X3), Labor (X4), and Marketing (X5) which are indicators of the External Factor variable (X) are proven to have no significant effect on the Broiler Chicken production variable ( Y). And the mortality rate indicator (X2) is the most dominant indicator and has a significant effect on Broiler Chicken Production (Y).
