Abstract

Kegiatan storytelling memiliki peran strategis dalam mengembangkan aspek moral pada diri anak-anak. Penggunaan gambar dalam kegiatan storytelling juga telah banyak dilakukan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini. Mengingat anak usia 5-6 tahun masih banyak yang belum memiliki keterampilan menulis dan membaca, maka penggunaan metode picture mapping dalam kegiatan storytelling dipelajari dalam penelitian kali ini. Penggunaan picture map dalam penelitian yaitu sebagai alat untuk menumbuhkembangkan kemampuan komunikasi dan kolaborasi anak usia dini sebagai bagian dari keterampilan abad 21. Tujuan penelitian secara khusus yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi perkembangan aspek-aspek keterampilan abad 21 dalam kegiatan storytelling siswa TK kelompok B di daerah Cibiru, Kabupaten Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen pengumpul data yang terlibat yaitu rekaman hasil wawancara dengan anak, pedoman observasi yang dilengkapi catatan lapangan, dan rekaman video proses kegiatan storytelling. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa keterampilan abad 21 yang berkembang melalui kegiatan storytelling yang menerapkan penggunaan picture map adalah: (1) kemampuan mengomunikasikan pikiran atau ide menggunakan picture map; (2) kemampuan menyimak isi cerita yang disampaikan guru; (3) kemampuan memberikan respon pada orang lain selama sesi storytelling berlangsung; (4) kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam lingkungan dwibahasa; dan (5) menunjukkan sikap saling tolong menolong dan bekerja sama.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh munculnya tren di bidang pendidikan dasar, yaitu proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar yang mengajarkan materi subjek dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai media instruksi. Sekolah dasar di berbagai negara seperti Singapura, Cina, Malaysia, dan bahkan di Inggris (Dedezade: 2006) sekalipun telah mengaplikasikan bahasa Inggris sebagai media instruksi dalam mata pelajaran Matematika dan IPA secara dwibahasa. Tren pendidikan dasar ini juga sudah merambah ke Indonesia. Oleh karenanya, banyak sekolah dasar di Indonesia yang menetapkan kebijakan bahwa guru yang mengajar di satuan pendidikan tersebut harus memiliki keterampilan dasar bahasa Inggris agar mampu mengajarkan materi subjek menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Konsekuensi dari hal tersebut adalah guru sekolah dasar sebagai guru kelas tak hanya dituntut untuk dapat menguasai berbagai konsep materi subjek, namun harus pula terampil mengajarkannya dalam bahasa Inggris. Tujuan penelitian kali ini adalah untuk (1) mengetahui kendala yang dihadapi guru di kelas pada pembelajaran konsep IPA mengenai bagian tubuh hewan secara dwibahasa di kelas 2 SD melalui metode bercerita dan (2) mengetahui aspek multiple intelligences yang mana yang dapat ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran IPA secara dwibahasa dengan metode bercerita. Peneliti memperhatikan proses pembelajaran IPA secara dwibahasa pada situasi natural melalui interaksi antara guru dengan siswa kelas 2 SD laboratorium UPI Kampus Cibiru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kemampuan guru dalam membelajarkan konsep IPA secara dwibahasa melalui metode bercerita masih harus ditingkatkan. Guru terpaku pada RPP yang telah disusun sehingga tidak dapat mengeksplorasi dan mengembangkan kegiatan bercerita dalam pembelajaran secara terpadu. Hal ini disebabkan keterampilan bahasa Inggris guru masih kurang, yaitu dalam hal perbendaharaan kosakata,   pemilihan kata yang sesuai dengan terminologi IPA, dan pelafalan kata sehingga menimbulkan kesalahan konsep IPA. Kendala‐kendala tersebut menyebabkan kurangnya kepercayaan diri guru saat melakukan tugas mengajar. (2) Pembelajaran IPA secara dwibahasa dengan metode bercerita dapat dijadikan alternatif upaya meningkatkan multiple intelligences siswa SD, yaitu kecerdasan naturalis, linguistik, visual‐spasial, dan interpersonal. Saran yang diajukan peneliti untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru mengorganisasikan pembelajaran dwibahasa adalah dilaksanakannya program pelatihan atau seminar bagi kelompok guru SD. Pelatihan seperti ini dapat dilakukan melalui hubungan kemitraan antara kelompok guru dalam satuan pendidikan dengan LPTK penyelenggara program PGSD, salah satunya adalah UPI Kampus Cibiru

Abstract

This research is to know pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) of primary schools teacher in science lesson. The research method used survey method. Research subject is determined by purposive sampling technique. Research data were collected by interview technique, questionnaire, test, product assessment, and observation. Data were analyzed by one-way Anova toward civil servant period, certification period, work class, GPA and university origin. The conclusions obtained indicate that the teacher's PCK in teaching science in primary schools depends on the newly-conducted training program such as the Teacher Education and Professional Training (PLPG). There is no correlation between the underlying factors as a teacher and the PCK in significantly teaching science in primary schools. It is recommended that teachers regularly attend training related to the updating of learning materials or related to PCK as the basis of the teaching profession in teaching science through an in service training program.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to increase the ability of elementary school teachers in Bandung Wetan district to develop STEM-based science learning plans during the Covid-19 pandemic. In detail, the objectives of this service can be described as follows: first knowing the teacher's perceptions of the implementation of STEM learning that is carried out in online learning, second knowing the teacher's needs for the implementation of STEM in online learning, the third design of the SFH training program (STEM From Home ) to improve the ability of elementary school teachers in Bandung Wetan sub-district to develop a STEM-based science learning plan during the Covid-19 pandemic and most recently as an effort to describe the ability of elementary school teachers in Bandung Wetan sub-district to develop a STEM-based science learning plan during the Covid-19 pandemic after participating in the program SFH (STEM From Home) training. This service activity targets the target audience is elementary school teachers in the Bandung Wetan district. The number of schools in Bandung Wetan District is 17 with 15 private schools and 2 public elementary schools. On this occasion, the involvement of teachers as many as 28 people was prioritized. A series of PKM activities have been carried out from August to September 2020. Abstract

Limbah benang di sentra industri rajut Binong Hati memiliki potensi ekonomis, di antaranya untuk dibuat alat permainan edukatif di PAUD. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kreativitas dan inovasi para ibu rumah tangga dalam membuat alat permainan edukatif thematic busy books. Metode yang dilaksanakan adalah kaji tindak melibatkan pelatihan dan pendampingan produksi thematic busy books. Kegiatan dilaksanakan mengikuti tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, monitoring, evaluasi dan tindak lanjut. Kelompok sasaran terdiri atas enam orang ibu rumah tangga yang berdomisili di Kelurahan Binong. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendidikan para ibu rumah tangga menjadi faktor utama kurangnya tingkat kreativitas dan inovasi produk thematic busy books. Selama proses pendampingan, kelompok sasaran mengalami kesulitan terutama dalam menentukan konten kegiatan dalam buku relevan dengan Kurikulum 2013 PAUD dan mendesain pola. Program pelatihan dan berkelanjutan bagi kelompok sasaran dapat memperkuat stabilitas usaha para ibu rumah tangga di bidang produksi thematic busy books di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, dimana hal tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai perantara untuk lebih memaksimalkan proses pembelajaran khususnya yang berkaitan dengan penggunaan media pembelajaran digital. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendesain dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran Power Point interaktif dalam konten pelajaran IPA di SD kelas V yaitu mengenai zat tunggal dan campuran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian D&D (Design and Development) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluation). Produk media pembelajaran Power Point interaktif yang sudah dikembangkan selanjutnya divalidasi oleh dua ahli yaitu ahli media dan ahli materi. Hasil kedua validasi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa dari segi media dinyatakan “layak” untuk digunakan dan dari segi materi dinyatakan “sangat layak” untuk digunakan. Sementara pada tahap implementasi, media pembelajaran Power Point interaktif pada zat tunggal dan campuran diujicobakan terhadap guru dan siswa kelas V SD. Hasil keduanya menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran tersebut dinyatakan “sangat layak” untuk digunakan pada proses pembelajaran IPA di kelas V, khususnya pada materi zat tunggal dan campuran.

Abstract

To develop students’ 21st century skills, it is necessary to develop STEM-based worksheet to provide learning that links knowledge and technology with contexts in everyday life so as to create learning that is able to prepare students to compete in the future. The main focus of this research is the development of a feasible STEM-based worksheet in science education in elementary school. This research is a Design and Development study with the ADDIE model which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation stages. Based on the analysis of the curriculum, needs, and the learning environment of students, STEM-based worksheet is developed. The worksheet was assessed for its feasibility by experts and teachers. In addition, user parents/guardians and students are given response assessments. The evaluation of experts and teacher practitioners shows that the teaching material is considered very suitable for use .

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identifying the occurence of critical thinking and crrative thinking skills indicators in the instruments of AKM (Minimum Performance Assessment). This research used qualitative descriptive method using documentary study. The research results showed that the content of AKM instrument in both literacy and numeracy questions were dominated by critical thinking skills appearance, with the major indicators of making deductions and considerations toward deduction, which belonged to the aspect of making inference. This indicator is the ability to make conclusions. The distribution of critical thinking skills indicators on literacy questions was 42% and 67% on numeracy questions. Meanwhile, the emergence of creative thinking aspects in literacy questions reached 3% and 5% in numeracy questions.

Abstract

Chemistry learning media play a role in helping students understand chemistry concepts. There are many choices of learning media used in chemistry, such as films. However, films are not widely used as learning media, one of which is Korean films. This study aims to identify chemistry content that appears in drama scenes and determine the relevance of this content to chemistry material in senior high school. The analysis process refers to Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic technique through three stages, namely sign, object, and interpretant. The validity of the findings was tested through investigator triangulation involving experts in the fields of Chemistry Education and Indonesian Language and Literature Education. The results of the inter-observer agreement coefficient calculation showed an average value of 1, which is classified as very good. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is a representation of chemistry concepts in the Korean drama The First Responders. The chemistry concepts represented are related to high school chemistry subject matter. This research can be used as an alternative medium in chemistry learning. Scenes in the film can be used as sparking questions, initial problems in learning activities.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are still a problem in chemistry learning. One of the causes is teaching strategies do not contextually link chemical concepts into everyday life. This study aimed to determine whether project-based ethno-chemistry learning affected students' critical thinking skills. The research method used a quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. Purposive sampling was conducted and resulted a sample size of 80 students, consisting of 40 students from class XI IPA 1 (Experimental group) and 40 students from class XI IPA 2 (Control group). The critical thinking test instrument consisting of 19 questions in the topic of colloid material. The results of Mann Whitney test showed a significant difference of critical thinking post-test score between the two groups (p = 0.000, p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that project-based ethno-chemistry learning had an effect on students' critical thinking skills development. According to the n-gain score (57%), project-based ethno-chemistry learning was considered quite effective to develop students' critical thinking skills. The findings of this study contributed to the selection of various innovative teaching strategies which integrates local wisdom into project-based chemistry learning, so that critical thinking skills can be improved.
