Abstract

The economical, political, business and social challenges faced by the world today demand the 21st century skill-integrated as the main aspect that must be mastered by every child nowadays. This paper explores some important aspects related to integrating the 21 century skill into EYL class. Included in the discussion of this essay are the framework of 21st century skill, the 21st century curriculum, and designing appropriate syllabus for 21st century education suitable for EYL classroom, such as project-based syllabus and theme-based syllabus. This paper also describes several ICT media tool that can be used to promote our children 21st century skill, such as cartoon story maker (computer software) and kidblog (online blogging).

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terbatasnya penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi  dalam pembelajaran  anak usia dini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran Mobile Seamless Learning (MSL) dalam pembelajaran membaca AUD. Menggunakan metode RnD dengan model ADDIE Dick and Carry : Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Penelitian melibatkan 30 partisipan  Pendidik PAUD di Jabodetabek. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran MSL dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran membaca AUD didasarkan pada tiga aspek yakni fleksibilitas, efektifitas pembelajaran, dan kualitas pembelajaran.  Partisipan  merespon positif penggunaan model belajar MSL. Implikasi pedagogis  selama proses penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi dalam model MSL dapat memunculkan potensi peserta didik untuk lebih terlibat dalam proses belajar, meningkatkan motivasi belajar, serta meningkatkan literasi siswa melalui informasi dari berbagai sumber.

Abstract

The focus of the study is to explore the role of podcasts in enhancing students' extensive listening skills in learning English as a foreign language. The research involved eight students from the English Education Department of a private university in Indonesia, and data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and guided reflective journals. The Case Study 2.0 framework was employed to collect and analyze data, which involved leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance the traditional case study approach. The data collected were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques such as content and frequency analysis. The findings of the study findings revealed that podcasts were an effective tool for enhancing students' extensive listening skills, improving their pronunciation, vocabulary, and comprehension of English spoken by native speakers. The study also found that podcasts were engaging and motivating for students, leading to better learning outcomes. The study concludes that using podcasts is a beneficial approach to teaching listening skills in language learning.

Abstract

Studi ini menyelidiki ideologi yang diungkapkan dalam lirik lagu Hip-Hop. Secara khusus, penelitian ini difokuskan pada pola yang digunakan dalam lirik Hip-Hop dan makna yang dapat dibangun dari lirik. Data tersebut berupa lagu-lagu Hip-Hop Bustha Rhymes, 2pac Shakur, Kanye West, dan Ludacris. Teori Analisa Wacana Kritis telah digunakan sebagai kerangka analisis. Studi ini mengungkapkan bahwa makna yang dapat dibangun dari liriknya adalah Rapper mewakili Komunitas Kulit Hitam sebagai Bad Boy, Komunitas Kulit Hitam sebagai Komunitas Kelas Atas, dan Komunitas Kulit Hitam sebagai Orang Termarjinalkan,. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa lirik Hip-Hop mengandung ideologi yang dimanifestasikan dalam pola dan makna lirik. Mereka mengungkapkan bahwa lirik Hip-Hop digunakan untuk menumbangkan hegemoni budaya Eropa kulit putih dengan menggunakan ekspresi dalam liriknya.

Abstract

This study presents DigiLang, a customized e-learning platform, specifically developed to enhance English for Tourism proficiency among Community-based tourism members in Bogor Regency. The DigiLang platform was tailored to meet the specific purposes of language needs in the tourism sector. Through a comprehensive needs assessment, DigiLang provides a variety of focused resources, including personalized content, interactive modules, and practical exercises designed to foster proficient communication in the context of tourism. Further, the participants involved in this study were 30 villagers from three community-based tourism members who were randomly chosen from three tourism sites located in Bogor Regency. The participants were actively engaged in using DigiLang for English language learning within the tourism context. Their experiences and feedback were collected and analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness and suitability of the DigiLang materials in enhancing community-based tourism members' English proficiency. The results of the survey reveal learners’ positive attitudes towards (1) the user interface, (2) the language content and learning material, (3) the localized learning material. Participants also noted effective ways of online learning using DigiLang platform. Drawing from the outcomes of this developmental research, the DigiLang platform fulfilled the criteria for its adoption as a medium for online language learning, particularly in the English for Tourism context.   s

Abstract

The results of initial observations, especially in Padaluyu Village, Cugenang District, obtained data that there were 27 RTs spread across Padaluyu Village. The condition of 8 RTs experienced very severe damage (all houses collapsed) 19 RTs experienced severe and moderate damage. There are elementary schools in Cugenang District that need assistance related to the implementation of learning, especially the availability of learning resources, namely SDN Padamamur, SDN Padaluyu, and SDN Kembang Manis 2. The purpose of implementing this PKM is to overcome problems experienced by partners related to obstacles in the learning process that occur due to the earthquake. With the damage to some school rooms, learning must be diverted elsewhere. Therefore the development of Edupoint is considered appropriate to overcome this problem. EduPoint is a learning tool designed as a medium for providing access to mobile learning that can be accessed via various devices such as laptops, computers, smartphones and tablets in a local network so that it does not require quota or unstable signals due to earthquake conditions. This tool is designed so that students can study anywhere without having to take place in the classroom. The design concept of this tool is intended to accommodate the learning process so that it can continue under any conditions so that it can be easily moved wherever learning conditions take place (portable). After completing the development of the tool, training is needed for teachers to use it. The training activity on using EduPoint: Mini Drive Learning Resources for Disaster Emergency Schools ran smoothly. The response from the partners and training participants was very good thanks to the good cooperation between the University of Ibn Khaldun Bogor and the partners involved. The results of the training show that teachers are able to properly use the learning resources accessed through EduPoint.
