Abstract

Tracer study of Surabaya State University has been conducted in each study program in order to fulfill accreditation needs. Instrument development is still carried out independently at the study program and faculty levels so that the disparity of instruments in each faculty is very high. This study will later aim to create an effective alumni tracing model in achieving a response rate. Because in several universities throughout Indonesia, a superior model has not been found and detailed properly. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The population in this study were graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Surabaya who had obtained diplomas throughout 2022. The sample used was a saturated sample considering that this study aims to explore graduate data related to careers. The results showed that the response rate reached 100%, with more than 67.8% of graduates getting jobs in less than six months with an income of at least 1.2 times the UMP, exceeding the institution's target. This tracer study plays an important role in evaluating the quality of graduates and the relevance of education to the world of work. These findings provide a basis for improving the curriculum and quality of education at Universitas Negeri Surabaya.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of macroeconomic conditions on third-party funds at Bank BCA. The independent variables analyzed include inflation, the US Dollar exchange rate, and interest rates, while the dependent variable is the third-party funds from 2016 to 2021. Employing multiple linear regression analysis through EViews 9, the findings reveal that the independent variables collectively exert a significant influence on third-party funds at Bank BCA. Specifically, inflation demonstrates a negative correlation with third-party funds, indicating that rising inflation adversely affects deposit levels. Conversely, the US Dollar exchange rate shows a positive relationship, suggesting that a stronger dollar enhances third-party fund accumulation. Additionally, interest rates negatively impact third-party funds, highlighting the sensitivity of depositors to changes in interest rates. These results underscore the importance of macroeconomic stability in fostering a conducive environment for bank deposits, particularly in the context of Bank BCA.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the share prices of commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) during the 2019-2023 period with a quantitative approach and using secondary data. The variables explained include Non-Performing Loans (NPL), Net Profit Margin (NPM), Return on Assets (ROA), and Inflation, with stock prices as the dependent variable. The method used is panel data regression with Eviews 10 software. The research results show that simultaneously, NPL, NPM, ROA and inflation have a significant effect on stock prices. Partially, NPL and inflation have no significant effect, while NPM and ROA have a significant positive effect on stock prices. These findings confirm that profitability and asset management efficiency play an important role in influencing stock prices, while credit risk and macroeconomic factors tend to have minimal influence. This research provides insight for investors and bank management in making investment decisions and managing bank financial performance..

Abstract

Increasing financial literacy and the use of information technology can make a positive contribution to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in terms of improving performance and ensuring business sustainability. Financial literacy helps MSME owners monitor their financial performance periodically, while information technology can be used to expand marketing reach and reach more consumers. Community service carried out by the S1 Economics Study Program of Surabaya State University (UNESA) in Ponokawan Village, Krian District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, aims to improve MSME financial literacy. This community service activity is carried out by providing training and assistance to MSMEs in Ponokawan Village. After going through this program, MSME owners in Ponokawan Village now have a better understanding of marketing using information technology through social media. They are also able to do bookkeeping more effectively, allowing them to monitor the financial performance of their business more accurately.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the determinants of factors that influence the profitability of digital banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) during the 2018–2023 period. The independent variables tested include Non-Performing Loans (NPL), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Operational Costs to Operating Income (BOPO), with Return on Assets (ROA) as the dependent variable. The method used is quantitative with panel data regression using Eviews 10 software. The research sample consists of six digital banks that meet the criteria, with a total of 30 observations. The research results show that NPL has a positive but not significant effect on ROA, CAR has a positive and significant effect on ROA, while BOPO has a significant negative effect on ROA. These findings indicate that operational efficiency and capital adequacy are key factors in increasing digital bank profitability. Therefore, digital banks need to improve operational efficiency and maintain a strong capital position to maintain optimal financial performance.

Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of NPL (Non-Performing Loans), LDR (Loans to Deposits Ratio), and BOPO (Operating Expenses to Operating Income) on ROA (Return on Assets) in commercial banks in Indonesia during 2019-2023. Using secondary data from financial reports of banks registered on the IDX, multiple regression analysis was carried out using Eviews 12. Purposive sampling technique was used to select six banks that met the criteria, so that the total sample consisted of 30 banks. The research results show that NPLs have a significant negative impact on ROA, reducing bank profitability. LDR and BOPO do not significantly affect ROA, indicating that credit effectiveness and operational efficiency do not directly affect profitability. CAR is also not significant to ROA, possibly due to the absence of profitable capital utilization. Overall, credit risk management and asset quality influence profitability more than operational efficiency and use of funds

Abstract

Profitability is one of the most appropriate indicators to measure the financial performance of a bank. This study aims to analyze the effect of bank financial ratios on profitability in non-foreign exchange commercial banks for the 2019-2023 period. The sample of this research is 4 (four) non-foreign exchange commercial banks in Indonesia, with the data analysis method used, namely the panel data regression model with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The results showed that the financial ratio NIM has a significant influence and has a positive direction on bank ROA. BOPO financial ratio has a significant influence and has a negative direction on bank ROA. CAR financial ratio has an insignificant influence and has a positive direction on bank ROA.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the Monetary Policy Uncertainty (MPU) index and exchange rates on the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) in Indonesia from January 2018 to December 2023. The method used is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), with data sourced from the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED). The analysis results show that both exchange rates and the MPU index have a significant negative relationship with the IHSG, where depreciation of the exchange rate and high MPU will weaken the IHSG in the long term. Additionally, the response of the IHSG to shocks in exchange rates and MPU indicates a positive direction, suggesting that the Indonesian stock market shows resilience to these shocks. This research is expected to provide new insights for policymakers in formulating strategies to address the impacts of economic uncertainty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of risk management implementation on the financial performance of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The input variables used are Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), while the output variables include Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). The research findings indicate that perfect technical efficiency (VRSTE = 1.000) was achieved every year during the study period (2019–2023), while full efficiency (CRSTE = 1.000) was only achieved in 2019, 2022, and 2023. In 2020 and 2021, scale efficiency was low, with an average CRSTE over five years of 0.776, indicating that BNI has not fully achieved optimal efficiency in its risk management. The study concludes by emphasizing the need to improve scale efficiency, particularly in certain years, to achieve more optimal financial performance.
