Abstract

Tingkah wisatawan yang meresahkan masyarakat di kawasan wisata Bali banyak diperbincangkan oleh berbagai media. Sejauh ini tindakan pencegahan yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah adalah dengan cara mengeluarkan peraturan Gubernur Bali dalam bentuk Surat Edaran (SE) Nomor 4 Tahun 2023 terkait tatanan baru bagi wisatawan selama berada di Bali. Sayangnya masih banyak wisatawan yang tidak mengetahui adanya peraturan tersebut. Berkaca pada perilaku wisatawan tersebut, maka PT. Bali Sundaram Travel mengambil tindakan secara aktif mensosialisasikan pada wisatawan terkait adanya adat dan istiadat yang harus dihormati dan dipatuhi selama berwisata yang tertuang dalam pengaturan perjalanan wisatawan. Berdasarkan survey awal yang dilakukan, PT. Bali Sundaram Travel belum maksimal melakukan sosialisasi terkait peraturan tersebut, tetapi telah berkomiten untuk mendukung kebijakan pemerintah untuk mengurangi pelanggaran norma oleh wisatawan. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan menitikberatkan pada penyampaian aturan budaya dalam bahasa Inggris yang harus dipatuhi dalam kunjungan di berbagai tempat wisata di Bali. Setelah dilakukannya pelatihan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam melakukan pengaturan perjalanan wisata, staff PT. Bali Sundaram Travel telah memasukan informasi terkait peraturan yang berlaku untuk wisatawan selama di Bali baik secara lisan maupun tulisan.

Abstract

Stunting masih menjadi salah satu permasalahan kesehatan global yang perlu mendapat perhatian serius. Kondisi ini dapat bermula sejak masa kehamilan, berlanjut pada periode pertumbuhan anak, khususnya dalam 1000 hari pertama kehidupan. Penanggulangan stunting memerlukan pendekatan komprehensif yang menyasar berbagai faktor penyebabnya. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan menekan prevalensi stunting di Desa Ban, Kecamatan Kubu, Kabupaten Karangasem, Bali. Metode yang diterapkan meliputi edukasi mengenai pencegahan dan penanganan stunting, praktik penyusunan menu bergizi seimbang melalui konsep “Isi Piringku”, serta penyaluran bantuan pangan berupa ayam buras, telur ayam, dan beras organik. Selain aspek kesehatan, kegiatan ini juga mencakup penyuluhan terkait perlindungan hukum bagi perempuan, pelatihan singkat Bahasa Inggris, serta pelatihan pembuatan pakan ternak ayam. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan ibu dalam menyiapkan makanan bergizi seimbang berbasis “Isi Piringku” sebesar 49,8%. Oleh karena itu, dukungan dan partisipasi masyarakat secara berkelanjutan sangat diperlukan untuk menurunkan angka kejadian stunting.

Abstract

Desa Kawan, yang terletak di Kabupaten Bangli, memiliki beberapa UMKM yang memproduksi kerajinan tangan tradisional khas Bali, terutama anyaman sokasi. Meskipun berperan penting dalam pelestarian budaya lokal, UMKM Anyaman Sokasi Tradisional menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti kurangnya pemahaman mengenai bahasa iklan untuk promosi dan pelabelan produk, keterbatasan inovasi motif, serta belum adanya sistem pembukuan keuangan yang memadai. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, dilakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam penggunaan bahasa iklan untuk pembuatan konten promosi audiovisual dan labeling produk sebagai upaya branding. Selain itu, diberikan bantuan bahan seperti bambu dan cat pewarna untuk memfasilitasi inovasi motif anyaman. Pendampingan pencatatan arus kas juga dilakukan untuk memantau pengeluaran dan pemasukan usaha. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa mitra mampu mempromosikan produknya dengan lebih efektif melalui penggunaan bahasa iklan yang tepat, yang berdampak pada peningkatan penjualan melalui media sosial. Labeling produk membantu branding dan memperluas pasar, sementara pencatatan arus kas mempermudah mitra dalam mengelola keuangan usahanya.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan (1) kategori gramatikal dari leksikon alam yang digunakan dalam beblabadan, (2) konstruksis sintaksis dari beblabadan yang mengandung leksikon alam, dan (3) tiga dimensi praksis sosial dari beblabadan. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari buku Basita Paribasa karangan W. Simpen AB. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah berupa frasa dan klausa. Hasil analisis disajikan dengan menggunakan metode formal dan informal. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, ada tiga temuan dalam analisis ini yaitu (1) kategori gramatikal dari leksikon alam dalam beblabadan adalah verba seperti mabawang (berlaku sebagai bawang) dan nomina seperti jaka (pohon enau); (2) Konstruksi sintaksis dari beblabadan (metafora) yang mengandung leksikon-leksikon alam tersebut antara lain frasa nomina seperti base wayah (seperti daun sirih tua), frasa verba seperti mabawang putih (seperti bawang putih), dan klausa seperti ental magulung (daun lontar digulung); dan (3) dimensi praksis sosial dari beblabadan (metafora) ditunjukkan oleh pola-pola acuan tertentu. Kata Kunci: beblabadan (metafora), kategori gramatikal, konstruksi sintaksis, dimensi praksis sosial

Abstract

[Title: The Affixation Process in Verb Incorporation in Balinese Language] The incorporation of verbs in Balinese language requires the morphological process of the word that will replace the verb position. The incorporation process in Balinese is usually followed by affixation process. This article aims to explain the affixation process of incorporating verbs in Balinese language. The source of data of this research is a modern Balinese story book titled Tutur Bali by I Wayan Westa (2013). The data of this research is obtained through library method with technique of note. The data obtained were classified according to the type of affixation that occurs. The classified data were analyzed using the distributional method. The result of analysis is presented by informal method. Based on the analysis that has been conducted, the affixation process found in the case of incorporation of verbs involves the process of prefixation, the process of suffixation, and the process of adding the affix combination. The prefixing process involves the addition of ma- and N-. Furthermore, the process of suffixation includes the addition of the suffix -in. The last morphological process is the addition of a combination of affixes such as N-in, N-ang, ma-an, ma-in, ka-in, -ang-a, and -in-a.

Abstract

The aims of this paper is to describe the illocutionary act especially the kinds and the functions of constative illocutionary acts. Qualitative approached was applied in this research. The data were taken from novel written by Soman Chainani. All the data were collected based on the utterance uttered by the characters in the novel. In the other words, the data were classified based on their kinds and functions. Meanwhile in presenting the result this paper used informal methods. After analyzing the data based on the Bach and Harnis’ theory, it can be concluded all the kinds of constative illocutionary act were found in the novel. Most of the kinds use specific verbs as the marker of the kinds and some others have the same meaning without marking verbs. The functions of constative illocutionary act are to declare something, to predict an event, to recount an event from the past, to report the rumor, to describe someone physically, to provide an information, to inform the news, to confirm something, to confess something, to retract unreliable utterance, to agree with someone proposition, to disagree with someone’s thought, to dispute an assumption, to answer someone’s question, to give suggestion to others and to guess the possibility of something.

Abstract

Giving a positive impression in the text made is a basic thing to do in order to make readers feel comfortable reading texts given. However, not all writers can make texts that can express a positive impression. Application of grammatical cohesion, especially conjunction, is one of some ways that can be applied to reduce bounce rate to other websites. The aim of this research is to give a general overview of using conjunction in tour package texts by conveying semantic relation provided by all kinds of conjunctions. The data of this research were 41 tour package texts taken in the form of *.txt from a website named ganggabali.com. The data of this research were analyzed by applying the grammatical cohesion theory proposed by Halliday and Hasan (1976). The result of the analysis was presented by using formal and informal methods. This research shows all kinds of conjunction were applied to convey semantic relations among sentences in tour package texts. The use of the conjunctions, excluding other factors, can give readers a positive impression because by using conjunctions, the website owner can convey the semantic relation based on the kinds of conjunction applied.

Abstract

The phenomenon of miss interpretation and the mismatch of the desired meaning in a song's lyrics results in the wrong use of the song in an event. This study discusses the types of figurative meaning and their meaning related to each type. The data of this study were taken from the song lyrics of Queen’s album. Data were collected by analyzing base on the theoretical concepts and the data were analyzed using the observation method. Data were obtained from listening and reading the song lyrics repeatedly. Based on the result of the analysis, it was found that there are nine types of figurative meaning that are used in twelve songs from Queen’s Album. The figurative meaning that are used are metaphor, metonymy, overstatement/hyperbole, paradox, simile, symbol, synecdoche, euphemism, and idiom. Metaphor, metonymy, overstatement/hyperbole, simile, symbol, and idiom are the dominant type appeared the most with each 5 data, following by euphemism with 4 data, and the last are paradox and synecdoche with each 1 data. Thus, the total of all the data are 36 of the figurative meaning found in Queen’s album. Metaphor, metonymy, overstatement/hyperbole, simile, symbol, and idiom are the dominant typed found in the song lyric because Queen’s mostly uses substitutes and imagery in their songs.

Abstract

The website of the travel agency has pictures and texts to promote the services offered. In the text of the tour package offered, some sentences express certain purposes to describe the tour package offered. This article aims to describe the discursive construction of purpose used in the text of the tour package. This research is descriptive qualitative research in which the data source of this research is the tour package texts of ganggabali.com. The kind of data used is sentences found in the tour package texts. The research instrument used is antconc to collect the data. The texts are saved in the *.txt format to make the data collection by using antconc easier. The data that have been collected and classified were analyzed by using the theory of discursive construction of purpose proposed by Leeuwen. The data we analyzed by considering the kinds of the discursive construction of purpose. In this case, the elements that determine the discursive constructions were analyzed first. There were three steps in analyzing the data, namely the analysis of goal orientation, means orientation, and effect orientation in the sentences showing the function of discursive constructions to describe the purpose. The result of this research shows that all the orientations of discursive constructions of purpose were applied in the texts of the travel agency website. Abstract

Nowadays, human life is very close to technology. Community activities can be uploaded through their personal accounts on social media such as Facebook, Instagram or YouTube channels. The number of followers or followers of the account can number in the thousands, even hundreds of thousands, the account can also be used as a model to become popular or promote. The term for those who get money from social networks, especially YouTube, is YouTuber. Youtuber activity is something interesting to study, one of which is when the YouTuber is on a culinary tour or is enjoying the specialties of the local community, they use English as the language of instruction in carrying out their tourism activities that they upload. How the structure of the conversation they use is one of the interesting things to study. Given the existence of videos when presenting or explaining traditional food, it can also be used as a reference by students or other waiters. Thus, it is necessary to study the form of conversation patterns used by YouTubers in their uploaded videos. This research is qualitative research. The source of the research data is uploaded videos from YouTubers, especially culinary activities, the process of which is then transcribed to determine the structure of conversations by YouTubers on the YouTube channel.
