Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of school management and organizational culture on the performance of middle school teachers in Kepulauan Meranti Regency. This research employs a quantitative approach, relying on data from a population of civil servant teachers in 41 middle schools in Kepulauan Meranti Regency. The total population sampled in this study consists of 143 teachers. Data were collected through direct distribution of questionnaires to respondents in a field study. Regression analysis methods were used to analyze the relationship between the independent variables (school management and organizational culture) and the dependent variable (teacher performance). The results of the data analysis show that simultaneously, school management and organizational culture have a significant impact on teacher performance. The calculated F value (8.945) is greater than the table F value (2.67), and the significance value of 0.000 is less than 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted, indicating that these variables collectively have a significant impact on the performance of middle school teachers in Kepulauan Meranti Regency. This study is limited to the population of civil servant middle school teachers in Kepulauan Meranti Regency, so the results may not be generalizable to teachers in other regions or with different employment statuses. The findings of this study provide practical implications for school administrators and educational policymakers to enhance teacher performance through improvements in school management and organizational culture, as well as effective workload management. This research contributes to the literature on the impact of school management, organizational culture, and workload on teacher performance in remote areas, which has been understudied.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of the implementation of the Higher Education Curriculum and Learning Acceleration Assistance Program Supporting Independent Independent Campus implemented by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This study uses a qualitative methodology with a descriptive approach using data collection techniques through surveys and documentation studies of program results that have been reported by program recipients to the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs as the program implementer. The results of the study show that this assistance program greatly assists study programs in reorienting their curriculum to implement the Independent Learning-Independent Campus (MBKM) program independently through various collaborations carried out by related partners. Thanks to this assistance program, all study programs receiving assistance have curriculum documents that support the implementation of the MBKM program. The form of learning activities most often designed and implemented by recipients of assistance is internships/work practices, followed by student exchange activities and teaching in schools. This assistance program needs to be continuously developed every year to be able to accelerate the implementation of the MBKM program in higher education through curriculum development and independent implementation of the MBKM program

Abstract

This study examines trends in heutagogy research in Islamic education published between 2010 and 2024 through a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications. The study aims to map the development, thematic focus, and scholarly contributions of heutagogy as a self-determined learning approach and to highlight its relevance for strengthening learner autonomy in Islamic educational contexts. Using a bibliometric review design, data were collected from the Scopus database through keyword-based searches related to heutagogy, self-determined learning, and Islamic education, with filters applied for publication year and document type. A total of 175 documents were analyzed using bibliometric mapping techniques, including publication trend analysis, geographical distribution, and co-word analysis, supported by VOSviewer software. The results indicate a consistent growth in publications with an annual increase of 10.79%, dominated by contributions from the United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Keyword analysis reveals core themes such as self-determined learning, andragogy, and online learning, demonstrating the close relationship between heutagogy and digital learning environments. Nevertheless, gaps remain in the application of heutagogical principles to Islamic education, particularly in teacher education, curriculum design for PAI, and technology-integrated learning models. The study concludes that heutagogy offers significant potential for advancing autonomous, reflective, and lifelong learning within Islamic education in the digital era.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of kiai (Islamic boarding school leader) leadership on character building of alumni from non-Salafi Islamic boarding schools using a phenomenological approach. Through in-depth interviews and thematic analysis with six phases of Braun and Clarke, the research involving one alumni participant identified four fundamental mechanisms: transformative learning based on exemplary leadership integrating knowledge transfer and character formation through role modeling, long-term internalization of religious values resistant to contemporary social change, capacity for value adaptation in plural society without compromising basic principles through critical inclusivism, and character sustainability through non-verbal modeling and informal dakwah strategies. Kiai leadership manifests transformational leadership principles uniquely by minimizing verbal rhetoric while maximizing concrete behavioral demonstration, emphasizing moral consistency over personal charisma, and prioritizing internal transformation over external compliance. The formed character is holistic, integrating cognitive dimensions of deep textual understanding, affective dimensions of value internalization, and psychomotor dimensions manifested in consistent social behavior. This research enriches transformational leadership literature by demonstrating that leadership effectiveness is contextual rather than universal, and contributes to character formation theory by identifying specific role modeling mechanisms in intensive learning environments, producing deep and sustainable character transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of a quality management model using the SYNTHESIS Framework approach in association universities. This study was conducted in the province of West Java, an area known as one of the centers of higher education in Indonesia. West Java has a number of Association Universities that play an important role in providing quality education for the community. From a planning and implementation perspective, there is a positive trend toward a more systematic, participatory, and values-based quality management system. The quality planning process at institutions such as Halim Sanusi University and STEBI PUI Bogor has begun to be directed beyond meeting administrative demands to become rooted in a holistic and contextual institutional vision. In terms of planning, quality policies have been strategically designed to accommodate the direction of institutional development, stakeholder needs, and national accreditation requirements. This planning is characterized by the involvement of leaders, quality assurance units, and various elements of the academic community through deliberation forums, quality workshops, and integration into the strategic plan (Renstra) and annual work program. This demonstrates efforts to synchronize quality planning documents with actual implementation in the field. Meanwhile, from an implementation perspective, it was found that quality policies in several units have begun to be implemented using a systems-based approach and a continuous quality improvement cycle. However, implementation still faces challenges such as gaps in human resource capacity, limitations in information technology, and inconsistencies in quality control across all levels. Nevertheless, the collective spirit to implement a culture of quality has grown and continues to be strengthened through training, coaching, and regular monitoring and evaluation. The policy system for integrated quality management at the Association of Higher Education Institutions has shown significant progress, particularly in terms of institutional awareness and strengthening the quality structure. However, the full success of this policy depends heavily on consistent implementation, increased human resource capacity, and a long-term commitment to cultivating quality as an integral part of higher education management
