Abstract

Abstract

Bringing the corpse of a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church to the church before burial ceremony has been a discussion among members of the church itself.  Some agree but others not.  Those who agreeare divided into two groups based on criteria established by each congregation. The activityto bring the corpse to the church before burial ceremony does not have a theological basis in the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy.  Moreover, they also do not provide provisions relating to it as well as positive or negative impact if the body is brought to the church or not. Therefore, the organization of Seventh-day Adventists Church should give clear guidance to the criteria that needs to be followed by all churches under Seventh-day Adventists organization to occur alignment in addressing this issue.  When it turns out that decision being handed out to each congregation, then, let these three important things need to be considered, namely: (1) the person who died must be a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventists Church.  This is evidenced by a baptist certificate or a statement from the family or Seventh-day Adventists Church that requests, or membership record; (2) the person diesin a reasonble state (not suicide, drug addicts, etc.); (3) the corpse that can be brought to the church is not just limited to the pastor, church elder, church founders, old people, but to the younger age group also should be given the opportunity.

Abstract

ʾělōhîm(elohim) and ʾǎdōnāy (adonay)are titles of the being or element who is worshiped by human beings in the Old Testament.  Old Testament writers used these two words which refer to the being or element that is worshiped by Israel and pagan nations.  The context of the words itself will determine whether the being or element who is worshiped is the One who created the heavens and earth (Gen. 1 and 2; Exod. 20:11) or not.  If it is yes, the translation in Indonesian is Allah or Tuhan (English: God or Lord), but if not, it will be allah or tuhan (English: god or lord). Yehwāh (Yahweh) is the Name of ʾělōhîm (elohim)or ǎdōnāy (adonay)who created the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1 and 2; Exod. 20:11).  Names in the Hebrew Bible are never translated.  Then, no need to translate the word Yehwāh (Yahweh)into TUHAN or ALLAH (English: LORD or GOD), on the contrary, it should be left alone or just make its transliteration: YAHWEH or YAH or YEHWAH.

Abstract

The quality of leadership and spirituality of a pastor has a great influence inimproving the quality of spirituality and services of members which he is serving. When a pastor shows a good quality leadership and spirituality, then a member of thechurch will also grow in their spirituality and services. As a result, the church willgrow, especially in increasing the number of baptism. This is a formula that can notbe ignored by any pastor if he wants to achieve success in his ministry particularly inpromoting spirituality, ministry and number of baptism in his congregation. One of constraints faced today is the presence of pastors who haveproblems both in their quality of leadership and spirituality. This occurs because thepastors have not fully understand the significance of ministerial calling itself aswritten in Psalm 23: 1-6, Ezekiel 34: 1-30 and John 10: 1-15. When a pastor repeatsand realizes that he has received a ministerial calling in the beginning of his ministry, then it will help to increase his quality of leadership and spirituality. Therefore, a pastor demanded two things: commit to the ministerial calling(mission of a pastor, church and organization]); to give positive leadership andspiritual influences (to influence) to the members of the congregation in achievingthe goals of the church and organization. As a result, members of the congregationwill work together with the pastor in achieving the mission of the church of God inthis earth, discipleship (to Achieve).

The issue discussed in this paper is what the advantagesthat Eve had not shared by other women? Another thing is to discuss what thecauses of the fall of Eve into sin?The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the life of Eve before sin with theadvantages that she has and the reasons why she fell into sin. There are severallessons to be drawn from the life of Eve. At least she has ten special advantages. There are lessons, too, that can be drawn from either the cause of the fall of Eve andalso solutions for her. Those lessons are, first, do not let this life be alone without afriend. Second, do not walk to the place where there is temptation in it.Furthermore, do not argue with the temptation. Abstract

In this study, the authors examined the causes of why the new members of seventhday Adventist church did not survive in the congregation at Cihampelas Bandungchurch based on Colossians 2: 7. This study focuses on four indicators namely:What is the message of Colossians 2:7; what is the main causes of new members didnot survive in the church; what is the reason of the new members survived in thechurch; and what is the message Colossians 2: 7 to maintain new members.Generally, the church aims to bring people who are not converted into the fellowshipof the believers. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church is a organization blessed byGod with many souls that joining in the church through baptism, but most of thepeople who just join in the church did not survive in the church until the end of theirlives. In order to be faithful members and retaining the faith and trust that has been ownedby the new members of the Apostle Paul urged members of the newly christened ithas: (1) The roots are strong and sturdy in Jesus, which means emptying oneself ofearthly things and be one with Jesus; (2) Has a built Faith in Jesus means to haveunity of a close relationship with Jesus; (3) Growing fast in the faith that has beentaught that meant stay focused on the truth that has been obtained and is not affectedby the false teachings that exist around them; (4) Has the abundant life withThanksgiving greeting that indicates that the person has grown in his faith.Based on the results of this research, conducted by the author then there are fourthings of the main cause why the new members did not survive in the church: a coldwelcome from members - old members and employees of the church; Lack ofstudying the Bible before being baptized; Temptation of old habits (such as smoking, drinking, etc.); and lack of visiting the new members who just being baptized by thepastor and church employees. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the understanding about the cross of Christbased on John 19:17-25. This research was focused on Rawamangun CongregationChurch, East Jakarta. This research has three main basic indicators, the definition of the cross of Christbased on the Greece as the original language in the New Testament, the cause achange of the cross in Christianity and the use of symbol of cross that isincompatible with the Bible especially that derived from paganism. This research is divided into two parts, theoretical research and field research. Theresult of the theoretical research is about the notion of the cross of Christ based onGreek as the original language of the New Testament Bible, the cause a change ofthe cross in Christianity and the usage of the cross which is incompatible with theBible, especially from the unbelief. This research consisted of three parts: (1) What is the original word of cross in theBible? Some experts stated that the word of cross in the Bible originated from theword ‘stauros’ and ‘xulon.’These words have similar meaning that is a stud insteadof cross; (2) Definition of the cause a change of the cross in Christianity. Expertsstated that cross is a religious symbol that existed before the Christianity appeared. The symbol of cross is not used by the early church. Until to the 3rd century,Constantine, sun worshiper, brought symbol of the cross to Christianity as his statedvow, and; (3) The use of symbol of cross that is incompatible with the Bibleespecially that derived from paganism is something that is not very relevant becausecross is not a tool that is charged to Christ, then His people also do not use and lift upthe death tool that actually was not charged to Christ. The result of this research by using questionnaire that was shared to 40 GMAHKmembers of Rawamangun Congregation, where this questionnaire consisted of 24statements, yielded a data that can be concluded that the respondents have a goodunderstanding in answering the indicators. Abstract

The term “qadash” is derived from the root word qad which its basic definition is “tocut off” the use of this term in a religious perspective pointing to the meaning of “theseparation that connects with God to a special position, which is union orcommunion with Him.”Man is a sinful creature and full of shortcomings, only God is perfect and neverwrong. In Greek, the original language of the New Testament, the word perfect isteleios, which also means purpose. If that purpose has been reached, the teleiosbecomes perfect. In other words, for the Greeks, perfection means functioning. The translated word “without blemish” is amomos in Greek which describes how aChristian looks like before God. It corresponds to the animal sacrifices that areworthy to be sacrificed to God. The Christian life must be as such that it can beoffered as the blameless animal sacrifice to God.
