Abstract

This study aims to determine the direct effect of compensation variables and leadership variables on employee performance variables. The method used in this research is quantitative by using a questionnaire or questionnaire as a research instrument. The data collection technique in this study was to use a simple random sampling technique with a sample of 150 people from a total population of 700 people. The analysis used in this study is the structural equation model (SEM) with Amos version 24 software. The results of this study include the compensation variable (x_1) having a positive but not significant effect on employee performance variable (Y) and the leadership variable (x_2) having a positive and negative effect on employee performance. significant to the variable job satisfaction (Y). The magnitude of the direct influence of compensation variables and leadership variables on employee performance variables is 7.3%. Kata Kunci: Compensation, Leadership, Employee Performance, SEM AMOS.

Abstract

Pantai Bale Bale Nongsa, located in Batam, Indonesia, has abundant local potential but faces challenges in optimizing its resources for sustainable development. This study aimed to enhance entrepreneurship through financial literacy, local product development, and digital marketing strategies for the community. A participatory descriptive approach involving surveys, training, and mentoring was employed. Results demonstrated significant improvements in financial literacy, local product diversification, and online marketing capabilities, leading to increased daily incomes for some micro-entrepreneurs. This program highlights the importance of integrating financial literacy, product innovation, and digital marketing to empower coastal communities sustainably.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Human resources are one of the resources that determine the success or failure of an organization. Companies that have effective and efficient human resources will make the company progress and develop. In the current era, companies are required to work harder and more efficiently in increasing competitiveness for the survival of the company. The company will strive to maximize employees to get company benefits and values, so as to improve the welfare of owners and employees. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of occupational safety and health and work environment simultaneously on employee performance at PT Simatelex Manufactory Batam. The population in this study were employees of PT Simatelex Manufactory Batam. The number of samples in this study was 100 using non propobability sampling technique. The data analysis technique in this research is using multiple linear regression analysis, classical assumption test, statistical test. The results showed, among others: (1) occupational safety and health has an effect on employee performance; (2) work environment has an effect on employee performance; (3) showing that of occupational safety and health and work environment simultaneously affect employee performance. Abstract

Economic development in Batam has been slowing down in recent years. Batam PDRB has shown downturn tren. Between 2015 and 2016 there were 110 companies closed operation with 53 others were closing their operations in the beginning of 2017. As the result of the condition, the central government changed all top officers of BP Batam in 2017. This reseach is set to find the dominant factors of the downturn of Batam economic growth. This research aim to find the dominant factors of the downturn using qualitative descriptive method with comparative analysis. The finding shows that the dominant factor of economic in Batam is from FDI. FDI in Batam has been reduced gradually since 2012 which led to macro economic downturn in Batam. This downturn of FDI is a result of these factors: (1) As a direct impact of global economic downturn as Batam lies its economic activity to global export-import; (2) Losing its competitive advantage by the lack of proper infrastructure and electricity for industrial need; (3) The rise of other FTZ in China and Malaysia; (4) The complicated licencing prosess from two governmental body – BP Batam and Pemko Batam; (5) The economic protection policy from government that put a high tariff for trading goods from Batam to the rest of Indonesia borders making investors have not benefited from their position in Batam to enter Indonesia market; (6) The rise of workers wage; that only ranked second after Jakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of competence and training on employee performance in the Quality Control Department of PT McDermott Batam. A quantitative associative approach was employed, with data collected from 73 respondents and analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, t-tests, F-tests, and determination coefficients through SPSS software. The results indicate that both competence and training have a significant partial and simultaneous effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination value of 66.7% suggests that competence and training substantially influence employee performance, while the remaining 33.3% is attributed to other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

After the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of health protocols began to be relaxed so that employee motivation and work discipline also began to be questioned. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of work motivation and work discipline on employee performance after the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used by researchers is quantitative research with the type of field research, data collection using instruments in the form of questionnaires and sampling using simple random sampling. The population in this study was 790 people and the sample taken was 266 respondents. The data processing technique uses Structural Equation Model (SEM) with AMOS version 24 software. The results of this research show that work motivation has a direct positive and significant effect on employee performance and work discipline has a direct positive and significant effect on employee performance after the Covid-19 pandemic. The direct influence of work motivation and work discipline on employee performance after the Covid-19 pandemic is 41.8%. Abstract

Minimarket merupakan salah satu usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) yang berperan penting dalam perekonomian Indonesia. Minimarket Bizmart Tiban, Batam, merupakan salah satu contoh usaha yang berupaya untuk meningkatkan kinerja dan layanan kepada pelanggan melalui penerapan ilmu manajemen keuangan dan ilmu komunikasi. Artikel ini mendokumentasikan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan untuk memperkenalkan konsep dasar manajemen keuangan dan komunikasi kepada para pengelola minimarket tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman manajemen dalam mengelola keuangan serta kemampuan komunikasi dengan pelanggan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pengelolaan keuangan dan komunikasi yang lebih efektif, yang pada gilirannya berdampak positif pada kinerja minimarket
