Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of agility training on the dribbling ability of futsal extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. The study was motivated by students’ low dribbling skills, including poor ball control and difficulty changing direction during play. A quasi-experimental method with a Two-Group Pretest–Posttest Design was used. The population consisted of 28 male students who participated in the futsal extracurricular program during the 2026/2027 academic year. Using total sampling, the students were divided into an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 14 students. Data were collected using the Bobby Charlton Zig-Zag Dribbling Test and analyzed using t-tests with SPSS 26. The results showed that agility training significantly improved dribbling ability (t = 7.177; p < 0.05). The experimental group’s mean score improved from 20.30 seconds to 17.22 seconds. It was concluded that agility training effectively improves students’ dribbling ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran sampan tradisional Maninjau dalam pembinaan atlet dayung PODSI Kabupaten Agam serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat pembinaan tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Lokasi penelitian berada di Nagari Bayua, Kecamatan Tanjung Raya, Kabupaten Agam. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi dengan informan yang terdiri dari pelatih, atlet, pengurus PODSI Agam, dan tokoh masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sampan tradisional Maninjau berperan penting sebagai sarana latihan dasar dalam pembinaan atlet dayung, sekaligus menjadi media pelestarian budaya lokal. Faktor pendukung pembinaan meliputi kondisi geografis Danau Maninjau, budaya masyarakat yang masih kuat, serta motivasi dan komitmen pelatih dan atlet. Sementara itu, faktor penghambat utama adalah keterbatasan pendanaan, minimnya sarana dan prasarana, serta kurangnya penyelenggaraan event pacu sampan secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pemanfaatan kearifan lokal berpotensi mendukung pengembangan prestasi atlet dayung apabila didukung oleh sistem pembinaan yang terstruktur.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in the effects of set system and circuit system weight training on the increase in arm muscle strength of rowing athletes in Agam Regency. This study is an experimental study using a two-group pretest-posttest design, in which 12 rowing athletes were divided into two different treatment groups using purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument used a 1-minute pull-up test based on the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI) to measure arm muscle strength. Data analysis was performed using a paired sample t-test at a significance level of α = 0.05 to determine the difference in ability before (pre-test) and after (post-test) treatment. The results showed that (1) the set system weight training significantly increased arm muscle strength (t-count 25.30 > t-table 2.02), (2) circuit training also had a significant effect on increasing arm muscle strength (t-count 10.83 > t-table 2.02), and (3) there was no significant difference in effect between the two training methods (t-count 1.19 < t-table 2.02).

Abstract

The learning model based on movement coordination is believed to improve the basic skills of volleyball more optimally. Therefore, a literature review is needed to analyze the effectiveness of the movement coordination learning model in improving the basic technique of volleyball. This study aims to examine and analyze various models of movement coordination learning that have been applied in volleyball training and their impact on improving players' basic techniques. This study uses a literature review method by analyzing various journals, books, and scientific articles that discuss the learning model of movement coordination in sports, especially volleyball. The sources of literature used come from relevant research in the last 10 years. The analysis was carried out by reviewing the effectiveness of the movement coordination learning model on the development of basic techniques of volleyball players. Based on the literature review conducted, it was found that the learning model based on movement coordination had a positive impact on improving the basic techniques of volleyball. This model is able to improve motor skills, balance, and player response speed in match situations. In addition, this learning approach also supports the improvement of tactical understanding and game strategy through more varied and dynamic exercises. The movement coordination learning model has proven to be effective in improving the basic technique of volleyball. With the right application, this model can help players in developing technical and motor skills more optimally. Therefore, sports coaches and educators are advised to integrate this model in training programs to improve the quality of volleyball learning.
