Abstract

Abstract

This study evaluates the financial viability of grid-connected rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems across seven Indonesian residential types (2.75-19.8 kWp) under current market conditions. Using a discounted cash flow model with 8% discount rate and a 20-year project lifetime, key metrics including Net Present Value (NPV), Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE), and payback period have been analysed. Results demonstrate that system economics improve significantly with scale: while small systems (2.75 kWp) yield negative NPV (-Rp 9.71 million) and 12.4-year payback, larger installations (>7.7 kWp) achieve positive NPV (up to Rp 89.95 million for 19.8 kWp systems) and sub-10-year payback periods. The LCOE ranges from Rp 1,082-1,205/kWh, representing 11-36% cost savings compared to PLN's tiered tariffs (Rp 1,352-1,699.53/kWh). Monthly savings scale proportionally with system size, from Rp 323,378 (2.75 kWp) to Rp 2.84 million (19.8 kWp). A critical 7.7 kWp capacity threshold emerges for self-sustaining viability without subsidies, with 3500+ VA customers benefiting most due to higher avoided tariffs. These findings provide policymakers with evidence to design tiered incentive programs targeting underperforming market segments (<6 kWp systems), while confirming the commercial readiness of larger residential-commercial hybrid systems in Indonesia's solar transition.

Abstract

Motors and generators play a very important role in the industrial sector. These machines often fail due to overload, poor power quality, or internal winding faults, which necessitate rewinding efforts. Analysis And Optimization Of The High-Voltage Rewinding Process In Electric Motors And Generators To Improve Performance And Energy Efficiency refers to the process of rewinding the coil windings in an electric motor or generator when the original winding is damaged, the insulation quality has deteriorated, or the machine experiences malfunction. This process should include analytical procedures that can predict and estimate the efficiency of rewound motors and generators, helping energy managers make more cost-effective decisions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the rewinding process on high-voltage electric motors and generators in relation to energy performance and efficiency, as well as to evaluate its impact on system reliability and operational performance. The research methodology for motors and generators includes several stages: testing, dismantling, data collection, repair, coil fabrication, coil testing, coil insertion, varnishing, oven curing, assembly, and final testing. After rewinding, efficiency and performance analyses were conducted during the no-load and load tests to compare conditions before and after the rewinding process of the motor and generator. The results indicate that after rewinding, performance targets were achieved, including improved energy efficiency and enhanced motor or generator performance, as demonstrated by test results before and after rewinding. Additionally, the no-load and load test results met acceptable standards for vibration, current (amperage), voltage, and power.

Abstract

The integration of renewable energy sources (RES), such as wind and solar energy, has become increasingly growth in power generation systems. However, the intermittent and variable nature of these sources poses challenges, especially in maintaining the stability of the power grid. The address this chalange, energy storage systems (ESS) have emerged as a critical component in renewable energy power generation, enhancing grid stability, improving systems resilience and improving the reliability of the electrical grid. Bidirectional DC-DC converters play a crucial role in integrating RES with the energy storage system and the grid. In this study, a comparative is conducted through  literature review, design and calculation of buck-boost bidirectional DC-DC converter for battery charging application in renewable energy power generation. This research paper provides an overview of the various bidirectional DC-DC converter topologies which are suitable for energy storage system applications in renewable energy power generation. The paper dicusses the topologies of bidirectional DC-DC converters, advantages and limitations of different converter topologis including isolated and non-isolated configurations. The result indicate that isolated topologies offer better galvanic isolation and flexibility in voltage conversion, whereas non-isolated converters provide higher efficiency and simpler design, making them more suitable for compact ESS application

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve teachers’ understanding of clean energy concepts and energy-saving behavior to support the development of environmentally friendly schools. The activity was conducted at MI Tarbiyatul Falah Bantar Gebang involving teachers as participants. The methods used included counseling, interactive discussions, technology diffusion, and evaluation through pretest, posttest, and questionnaires. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding, indicated by the improvement of the average score from 62 in the pretest to 86 in the posttest. In addition, questionnaire results showed positive responses with an average satisfaction level of 69.5% in the very good category. This activity has a positive impact on improving energy literacy and teachers’ awareness of the importance of efficient energy use in the school environment.
