Abstract

Ignorance of information is a very fatal matter. Many incidents occur due to the lack of information resulting in the absence of preparation. In the maritime world, sailors are certainly familiar with the term One Hour Notice (OHN), which is a notice or announcement one hour before the ship departs, arrives, or undergoes relocation. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research, by examining and analyzing the results of observations, as well as conducting interviews about the important role of One Hour Notice (OHN), and how to implement One Hour Notice (OHN) procedures for deck crew on MT. GAS SOECHI XXVIII. The results obtained from the research on MT. GAS SOECHI XXVIII are: (1) Understanding the importance of One Hour Notice (OHN) when the ship is about to depart, arrive, or undergo relocation, (2) Procedures for implementing One Hour Notice (OHN) for deck crew.

Abstract

The loading and unloading process at the port determines the smooth running of the economy, and this cannot be separated from the role of the Loading and Unloading Workers (TKBM) at the port. In its development, TKBM in ports has become very important because it determines the smoothness of the loading and unloading process, so it requires loading and unloading workers with expertise and reliability in using tools during loading and unloading and applying K3 principles. Bitung Port is one of the important factors that drive economic growth and development in North Sulawesi. At Bitung Port, it was confirmed that more than 1000 TKBM were carrying out loading and unloading activities. This research aims to determine the effect of competency and training on TKBM performance at Bitung Port, North Sulawesi. The research method uses quantitative research with data collected through questionnaires. The research results show that TKBM competency and training simultaneously influence TKBM performance at Bitung Port.

Abstract

CHAERUL AZNAR, “Analisis Prosedur Memasuki Ruang Tertutup Di KM SK 3”.

Abstract

Cargo discharge operations on tanker vessels play a vital role in national energy distribution and require high efficiency without compromising safety standards. In practice, MT. Patra Tanker 3, operated by PT Pertamina International Shipping, experiences recurring technical and operational constraints that may significantly reduce discharge efficiency and increase operational risk. This study aims to identify and analyze the influencing factors and formulate strategic optimization recommendations. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied through direct field observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews with key crew members, and documentation review during sea practice from August 2024 to August 2025. Data were analyzed using reduction, display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that discharge efficiency is influenced by three interrelated factors: technical factors (valve and seat ring condition affecting system pressure stability), human factors (inter-station coordination quality and crew fatigue during prolonged operations), and managerial factors (maintenance system effectiveness and operational supervision). These factors do not operate in isolation but interact dynamically within a socio-technical system. Optimization requires strengthened preventive maintenance on critical components, improved communication protocols between work stations, and systematic continuous evaluation in accordance with the ISM Code and ISGOTT international standards.
