Abstract

This research is propose the replacement schedule of a critical part of a critical machine in a the clove line of PT. Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk. From the direct observation, the screw conditioning process is the critical process of the the tobacco production in clove line. One of the screw conditioner, Garbuio Dickinson screw conditioner, was observed as the machine with the most downtime in clove line. Further analysis using chart reveals that the motor screw conditioner is the main problem to the machine breakdown. Index of fit calculations were applied to find the time to failure and time to repair distribution by looking at the highest index of fit of each failure distribution. Maximum Likelihood Estimator step was undergone to find the MTTF and MTTR (in hours) for the chosen distribution. Finally, the best time interval to replace the critical part in order to increase the component reliability and machine availability was calculated. Result of this preventive replacement is increases the component reliability by 80% and the machine availability by 0.245%.

Abstract

CV. Bate Mandiri merupakan industri yang bergerak dalam proses pembuatan paving block yang berada di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Usaha produksi sejenis di kawasan tersebut menjadi ancaman dalam mempertahankan eksistensinya dan diperlukan langkah strategis dalam mempertahankan dan mengembangkan usaha agar bertahan dalam jangka panjang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan posisi dan strategi usaha produksi paving block pada CV. Bate Mandiri menggunakan SWOT (Strenghts, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) dengan analisis SAP (Straegy Advantage Profile) dan ETOP (Environmental Threat Opportunity). Analisis SAP digunakan untuk mendapatkan gambaran posisi strategis perusahaan, dilihat dari sudut pandang persaingan dengan faktor-faktor internal yang meliputi kekuatan dan kelemahan. Sedangkan analisis ETOP mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor peluang dan ancaman perusahaan didasarkan pada hasil analisis lingkungan eksternal yang dilakukan terhadap perusahaan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh posisi pemasaran pada CV. Bate Mandiri berdasarkan analisis SAP berada pada posisi aman (Favourable), posisi ini industri CV. Bate Mandiri memiliki kekuatan tertentu yang tidak dimiliki oleh pesaing dan Posisi CV. Bate Mandiri berdasarkan analisis ETOP berada pada posisi usaha spekulatif. Adapun strategi yang dapat digunakan yaitu memungkingkan untuk dilakukanya penambahan investasi, di mana posisi usaha ini memiliki peluang untuk sukses yang tinggi tetapi resiko yang harus dihadapi juga tinggi sebanding dengan sukses yang dicapai.

Abstract

Vertical Clarifier Tank (VCT) has a very crucial role to separate oil, water and sludge by gravity, where oil with a smaller specific gravity of 0.8 grams / cm3 will be in the uppermost layer, while water whose specific gravity is 1 gram / cm3 will be in the middle layer, and sludge with a density of 1.3 grams / cm3 from the Vertical Clarifier Tank (VCT). The experimental design of this study was to determine the appropriate depth of the inlet pipe to obtain low levels of impurities during oil extraction. The results of the study obtained from variations in the depth of 25 cm, 40 cm, 55 cm, and 70 cm inlet pipes used as the inflow of crude oil from Crude Palm Oil with variations in sedimentation time of 100 minutes, 120 minutes, 140 minutes, 160 minutes, 180 minutes, and 200 minutes, obtained the least level of impurities in the Inlet Pipe which has a length of 55 cm with a variable sedimentation time of 200 minutes.

Abstract

Donuts are one of the most popular foods in the community that have a sweet, savory, and unique taste. One of the donut branches in this study is located in Drien Rampak Village, Johan Pahlawan, West Aceh Regency. This study used the Quality Control Circle (QCC) method with the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) and 5W + 1H approaches. The data analyzed included product defects during the period June 2023 to May 2024, which included burnt color, inappropriate size, flat, and not rising. The results showed that the average defect rate reached 6% of the total monthly production. By implementing the QCC method, the main causes of defects were successfully identified using tools such as Pareto diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, and control charts. Improvement steps include implementing SOPs, employee training, and quality control at critical stages of production. The implementation of this method succeeded in significantly reducing the level of product defects, increasing production efficiency, and improving consumer satisfaction. This study provides a practical contribution to companies in controlling product quality and is a reference for further research related to quality management using the QCC method.
