Abstract

This study aimed to determine the improvement of student’s mathematics learning outcomes by implementhing the Guided Discovery Learning learning model on trigonometric material in grade X of SMKS (Vocational High School) Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Randangan, academic year 2023/2024. The data in this study was collected through teacher activity observation sheet, student activity observation sheet (given to 20 student), and learning outcome test. The research indicators were: the results of observation of teacher activities in managing learning activities reached at least 75%, the result of observation of student activities in receiving learning activities reached the “Active” criterion with a minimum of 75%, the result of the assessment of mathematics learning outcomes were at least 75%, and all students reached the minimum completeness criterion (75). Based on the analysis, applying the Guided Discovery Learning learning model to trigonometric material could improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes in two cycles after learning improvements were made from cycles I to II. this was marked by the escalation result of 1) observation of teacher activities in managing learning (cycle I 55,98%, and cycle II 97,06%), 2) observation of student activities during the learning process (cycle I 40%, and cycle II 93,3%), and 3) yhe average of student mathematics learning outcome (12 student or 60% in cycle I, and 18 student or 90% students completed in cycle II).

Abstract

Penggunaan sumber belajar berupa buku paket matematika dan Microsoft Word di kelas VII dinilai kurang memfasilitasi kebutuhan belajar peserta didik, disebabkan oleh keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang kurang beragam serta berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi oleh pendidik dalam proses pembuatan media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran Numerix berbasis web Genially pada materi bilangan di kelas VII yang sudah diuji kelayakan dan kepraktisan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Researc and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D (define, design, development, dan disseminate). Kelayakan produk ini dilakukan oleh 3 ahli media dan 3 ahli materi serta uji coba kelompok kecil oleh 5 peserta didik. Kepraktisan produk ini dilakukan dengan uji coba dalam skala besar oleh 27 peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Suwawa pada semester ganjil yang dilanjutkan dengan memberikan angket penilaian guru dan peserta didik. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran Numerix dinilai layak dengan revisi oleh para ahli dan sangat layak oleh peserta didik dalam kelompok kecil dengan rata-rata persentase 89,71%. Selain itu, kepraktisan media ini memperoleh nilai 90,47% (sangat praktis) dari guru dan 85,22% (sangat praktis) dari peserta didik. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa media pembelajaran Numerix berbasis Web Genially pada materi bilangan di kelas VII SMP negeri 1 Suwawa dinyatakan sangat layak dan praktis.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was based on the still low level of students’ ability to solve mathematical problems, particularly on the topic of Quadratic Equations. This condition was presumed to be influenced by teacher-centered instructional practices, which limited students’ active engagement in the thinking process and hindered the optimal development of their cognitive abilities. Therefore, a learning strategy that can encourage active student involvement while fostering higher-order thinking skills is needed. One option that can be implemented to achieve this goal is the application of the Problem Based Learning model. This study aimed to improve students’ ability to solve mathematical problems through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model. The method used was Classroom Action Research conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Limboto Barat in the 2024/2025 academic year. The subjects of this study were 30 students from class IX-A. Data were collected through observation and testing techniques. The research was carried out in two cycles. The findings revealed an increase in teacher activity from 57.89% in Cycle I to 94.74% in Cycle II, with an improvement of 36.85%. Student activity also increased from 52.78% in Cycle I to 88.89% in Cycle II, with a difference of 36.11%. In addition, students’ ability to solve mathematical problems showed significant improvement. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model is effective in enhancing students’ mathematical problem-solving skills, particularly in the topic of Quadratic Equations. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini didasarkan pada masih rendahnya tingkat kemampuan peserta didik dalam memecahkan permasalahan matematika, khususnya pada topik Persamaan Kuadrat. Kondisi tersebut diduga dipengaruhi oleh praktik pembelajaran yang cenderung berpusat pada guru, sehingga keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses berpikir belum berkembang secara optimal. Dengan demikian, dibutuhkan suatu strategi pembelajaran yang mampu mendorong keterlibatan aktif peserta didik sekaligus menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Salah satu opsi yang dapat diimplementasikan untuk tujuan tersebut adalah penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Limboto Barat pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Adapun subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX-A dengan jumlah sebanyak 30 orang. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui teknik observasi dan pemberian tes. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan pada aktivitas guru, dari 57,89% pada siklus I menjadi 94,74% pada siklus II, dengan selisih kenaikan sebesar 36,85%. Aktivitas peserta didik juga mengalami peningkatan, yakni dari 52,78% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 88,89% pada siklus II, dengan perbedaan sebesar 36,11%. Di samping itu, kemampuan peserta didik dalam memecahkan permasalahan matematika turut menunjukkan perkembangan yang signifikan. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah matematis, terutama pada materi Persamaan Kuadrat.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of one-variable linear equations through the implementation of Wordwall-assisted gamification. The research was conducted in response to low student achievement, limited learning engagement, and the predominance of conventional teaching methods that had not optimally utilized interactive learning media. The study employed Classroom Action Research consisting of two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 26 seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Kabila in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through classroom observations and cognitive learning outcome tests administered at the end of each cycle. Observation data were used to assess teacher and student activities, while test results were analyzed based on the minimum mastery criterion of 72. The findings revealed a notable improvement in learning outcomes following the implementation of Wordwall-assisted gamification. Learning mastery increased from 70.94% in Cycle I to 86.92% in Cycle II. In addition, teacher activity improved from 69.04% to 92.85%, while student activity increased from 71.42% to 89.28%. Based on the results of the actions implemented, the application of Wordwall-assisted gamification can help improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes and active participation in learning one-variable linear equations.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematical reasoning abilities through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in the topic of relations and functions. The research employed a classroom action research (CAR) design conducted in a single cycle. The subjects were 28 students from class VIII-6 at SMP Negeri 2 Limboto in the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection techniques included teacher activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, and a mathematical reasoning ability test. The results indicate that the application of the PBL model effectively enhanced students’ mathematical reasoning. This is evidenced by: (1) the average percentage of teacher activity observations reaching 82% in the good category; (2) the average percentage of student activity observations reaching 83% in the good category; and (3) the average score of the mathematical reasoning test reaching 83. These findings suggest that the PBL model is effective in improving students’ reasoning abilities in learning mathematical relations and functions.
