Abstract

Pavement type selection in Indonesia in general is still determined by the strength of the subgrade. Type used for flexible pavement subgrade CBR values are high and rigid strength for low CBR value. Based on the data path growth, data use basic information about the strength of the soil, resulting in significant long paths. This research will produce a mathematical model that can be used to determine the selection of the regent road pavement using variables including the traffic volume, population, budget allocation roads, topography, and accessibility. Limitation of road building is for district roads with different topographies review. The resulting model is expected to be used by decision makers at the district level so that the right type of pavement selected so that the acquisition of the allocation of funds can be used to construct a longer path.

Abstract

Level of service is important parameter for determining the road performance that is influenced by speed and volume of traffic at the certain road. In the appendix of Decree 14 year 2006 is listed categories level of service for each condition of any road function such as arterial, collector and local road. But the level of service at those decree seem too optimistic or not sensitive when applied to the current road conditions, especially on the streets of the city, that cause all the roads show at lowest level of road service or F level, especially during peak hour, so it is certainly difficult to evaluate. For those reason it is necessary to revise the provision regarding road level of service that based on a calculation of Road Service Index which consists of variables such as design speed, travel time, road capacity and traffic volume at the certain time. The revise of those provision will be proposed become the Transportation Minister Decree substitute the recent regulation. This research based on observation or field study, then IHCM method used for Level of Service analysis and mathematical method for calculating road service index. Conclusion based on comparisson of those both methods.

Abstract

The government of Indonesia is currently working to improve infrastructure, with a particular focus on the railway sector, in order to make transportation more accessible and affordable for all citizens. Therefore, this study aims to determine the reliability of alternative financing for the Land Value Capture (LVC) scheme, especially through earmarks (land tax increase). This scheme is very interesting to examine due to its great implementation potential in Indonesia. In this study, the primary data were obtained from direct measurements in the field of information derived from accessibility factors. Meanwhile, the secondary data were in the form of land price data in the NJOP (Tax Object Sale Value), as well as site structure, and its environment. From this context, the land price forecasting model used the Hedonic method developed into a Log-Log equation and was analyzed by using multiple regression statistical techniques with iterations, to obtain the best model. The LVC calculation also used the calculation formula for Land and Building Tax (PBB), as stated in Governor of Jakarta Regulation No. 77 of 2014. Based on the results, the development stage of the land price forecasting model showed that the independent variables with the most significant contribution (α > 0.005) were dominated by accessibility-related factors. In the residential, office, and commercial areas, the maximum increase in land value ranged from IDR 696.8 thousand/m2-IDR 30.5 million/m2, IDR 1.25 million/m2-IDR 41.4 million/m2, and IDR 595.9 thousand/m2-IDR 24.4 million/m, respectively. These estimations were observed with an average increase in the earmarks of all stations at 39.84%. Regarding the initial year of the project operation, the LVC value also obtained the maximum coefficient of the tax difference scheme from 21 stations at IDR 471,941,540,397/year.

Abstract

Sustainable innovation in road construction encourages the use of recycled materials, such as Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement/RAP, as an alternative to reduce dependence on new materials and minimize negative environmental impacts. However, RAP materials generally undergo an aging process that causes a decrease in viscoelastic properties, an increase in stiffness, and a decrease in resistance to cracking and deformation. To address these issues, rejuvenators produced from biomass waste - such as rice husks, bagasse, palm oil waste, and other agricultural residues - are being developed as environmentally friendly solution in restoring the rheological properties of RAP asphalt and improving the performance of the asphalt mixture. The results show that plant-based rejuvenators containing lignin with a chemical structure consisting of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen elements, and have active groups such as aromatic ring structures, aliphatic and aromatic hydroxyl groups, and quinone groups very similar in structure to asphalt can rebalance the proportion of malten and asphaltene fractions in aged asphalt. The use of bio-rejuvenators provides performance that results in a decrease in the complex modulus (G⁎) value and an increase in the phase angle (δ), indicating improved flexibility and reduced stiffness of the asphalt, approaching the characteristics of new asphalt. Furthermore, the addition of biojuvenators also positively impacts resistance to rutting and fatigue, while enhancing the workability of the asphalt mixture, especially in low-temperature applications.

Abstract

The increasing demand for pavement materials necessitates more sustainable solutions, one of which is the utilization of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) containing aged asphalt from recycled layers. However, the high incorporation of RAP often faces challenges such as increased stiffness, reduced ductility, and degradation of viscoelastic properties due to aging. In this context, waste cooking oil (WCO) has attracted significant attention as an eco-friendly and cost-effective rejuvenator. This study presents a systematic literature review on the application of WCO in RAP mixtures, focusing on its chemical characteristics, effects on rheological and mechanical properties, implementation challenges, and performance enhancement strategies through chemical modification and additive incorporation. The findings indicate that WCO effectively reduces binder viscosity, improves flexibility, enhances low-temperature cracking resistance, and extends the fatigue life of RAP mixtures. However, excessive WCO content may reduce Marshall stability and rutting resistance. Synergistic approaches such as polymer addition, nano-material incorporation, or chemical pre-treatment have proven effective in addressing these limitations. This review highlights WCO’s potential as a sustainable rejuvenator while emphasizing the need for further research on dosage optimization, quality standardization, and long-term performance evaluation to support large-scale industrial implementation.
