Abstract

Introduction: Having children during marriage is a way to preserve the family lineage. To be childfree leads to negative stigma from society and even one's own family. However, not all couples want to have children, some of them choose to be childfree. Objective: This study aimed to review literature about the perspective of women who choose to be childfree. Methods: The literature search about being childfree used electronic databases, namely Scopus and PubMed, with the keywords “childfree," "quality of life" and “life satisfaction.” The studies included discuss the factors, impacts and satisfaction of a childfree life. This search was restricted to articles published in 2018-2023 and were analyzed by qualitative synthesis. Results: There were 309 articles from both electronic databases, which were then sorted according to the PRISMA diagram, so that there were 14 articles that met the criteria. The articles were grouped into 12 qualitative articles and two quantitative articles. There are five main factors that cause women to be childfree, including individual, health, economic, family and environmental factors. Most women reported experiencing societal stigmatization, social pressure and pressure from the family. Even though they experience the negative impacts of childfree, they still feel satisfaction with life. Conclusion: The perspectives of childfree women are diverse, ranging from the reasons for choosing to be childless, the social and emotional impacts and the level of life satisfaction. Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health concern in Indonesia. Active family involvement in both prevention and treatment is crucial; however, many families have yet to fulfill their health-related responsibilities effectively. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of health education through the IKAT TB (Tuberculosis Health Information) application on family health responsibilities in the prevention and treatment of pulmonary TB. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was used. The sample consisted of 46 respondents selected through total sampling. The intervention involved providing education via the IKAT TB application, and data were collected using a family health responsibility questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed an increase in family health responsibility scores following the educational intervention. The Wilcoxon test produced a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pre- and post-intervention scores. The findings suggest that health education delivered through the IKAT TB application is effective in enhancing family engagement in TB prevention and treatment. Digital media platforms such as mobile applications offer accessible information and can strengthen family involvement in TB care.

Abstract

Sexual violence among adolescents is an increasingly serious issue, exacerbated by limited knowledge and lack of education, which heightens their vulnerability. One innovative approach to addressing this problem is the use of educational applications such as BEYDI (Self-Empowerment), designed to enhance adolescents’ awareness and knowledge of sexual violence prevention. This study aimed to determine the effect of BEYDI application-based education on students’ knowledge regarding sexual violence prevention at SMPN 3 Lamongan. The study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population consisted of 63 eighth-grade students from classes 8A and 8B, selected through total sampling. Data were collected using pretest and posttest questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results indicated a significant increase in students’ knowledge after receiving the educational intervention via the BEYDI application (p < 0.05). It can be concluded that the BEYDI app-based education was effective in enhancing students’ knowledge of sexual violence prevention and can be considered an interactive and efficient alternative educational tool in the school setting.

Abstract

Identitas gender merupakan bagaimana seseorang merasa sebagai seorang laki- laki atau perempuan. Identitas gender mencakup kesadaran gender seseorang, termasuk apa yang mereka ketahui, pahami, dan terima sebagai laki-laki atau perempuan. Konsep gender berfungsi untuk mengetahui perbedaan laki-laki dan perempuan dari aspek sosial dan budaya. Pembentukan identitas diri pada anak mempengaruhi kepribadian dan perilaku anak saat dewasa, sehingga memperkenalkan identitas gender harus dilakukan dengan tepat karena akan tersimpan dalam memori jangka panjang anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh media audio visual terhadap tingkat pengetahuan pengenalan identitas gender pada remaja di MTS darussalam gempol gedangan sukodadi lamongan. Desain penelitian ini yaitu pre- eksperimental dengan menggunakan pendekatan one group pretest-post test design. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 41 remaja dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa setelah diberikan Audio Visual seluruh remaja (100%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan kategori baik. Hasil data yang diperoleh pada pre test dan post test pada variabel pengetahuan didapatkan bahwa nilai signifikasi p=0,000 dengan standar signifikasi p<0,05 sehingga H1 diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh media audio visual terhadap tingkat pengetahuan pengenalan identitas gender pada remaja di MTS Darussalam gempol sukodadi lamongan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diharapkan tenaga kesehatan khususnya perawat komunitas dapat menggunakan Audio Visual sebagai salah satu media pendidikan kesehatan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pengenalan identitas gender pada remaja

Abstract

Introduction: Snake bites are a globally recognized emergency that can cause death and occur frequently, especially in tropical areas where farmers live. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of demonstrations on farmer groups' knowledge about snake bite first aid.Method: Pre-experimental research design, one group pre-test post-test. The research sample was 65 members of farmer groups using a simple random sampling technique. The independent variable from this research is health education using the demonstration method and the dependent variable from research is knowledge about snake bite first aid. Data was taken using a knowledge questionnaire, analyzed using the Paired T test, CI = 95%Results: The results of data analysis were p=0.000<0.05, meaning that there was an influence of the demonstration method on the level of knowledge of farmer groups in providing first aid for snake bites.Conclusion: Health education using demonstration methods can provide changes to farmer groups' knowledge about snake bite first aid. It is hoped that farmer groups can apply the knowledge gained when there are snake bite victims in the field. Keywords: demonstration; farmers; first aid; snakebite

Abstract

Introduction: Emotional problems are conditions where someone experiences psychological distress and psychological change. Although it can recover, the emotional problems can get worse if they are not treated properly. The research aimed to investigate the effect of self-management therapy on emotional control in adolescents in Tuban Regency Methods: The research applied pre-experimental one group pre-test-posttest design. The population was 39 respondents and used simple random sampling. The data were gathered by using questionnaire sheet. statistic test used Wilcoxon test Results: The research results indicated that before self-management therapy was administered, 31 adolescents (79.5%) experienced high/abnormal emotions and 1 adolescent (2.6%) experienced low/normal emotions. After the therapy was administered, 34 adolescents (87.2) experienced low/normal emotions and only 1 adolescent (2.6%) experienced high/abnormal emotions. The data which were analyzed by the Wilcoxon test indicated significance value of p=<0.05 and the significance value of self-management therapy was p=0.000, meaning that there was an effect of self-management therapy on emotional control in adolescents Conclusion: To control emotional problems in adolescents, one of the alternatives is by providing self-management therapy Keywords: Adolescents,  Emotional control, Self-management therapy

Abstract

AbstractOreochromis mossambicus (O. mossambicus) frequently found in the Brantas and Bengawan Solo rivers, Java island, Indonesia. However, heavy metals produced from anthropogenic activities can enter the water and accumulate in organisms living in the river. This study aimed to determine the lead (Pb) heavy metal in the gills, flesh, and intestines of O. mossambicus living in the two aforementioned rivers and to measure the Pb levels in each river. The results showed that the Pb in the O. mossambicus organs in the Bengawan Solo river was as follows 3.159 mg/kg in the gills; 1.930 mg/kg in the intestine; and 2.511 mg/kg in flesh, while in the Brantas river it was follows 1.600 mg/kg in gills; 1.402 mg/kg in the intestine; and 1.455 mg/kg flesh. Pb levels in each river water were 0.568 mg/mL in the Brantas river and 0.525 mg/mL in the Bengawan Solo river. Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that the Pb content in fish organs and river water has exceeded the quality standard for Pb levels according to the government regulation No.82 2001 (SNI 7387:2009), that is, 0.3 mg/kg in organs and 0.03 mg/L in water. The results of this study are expected to be a concern for the authorities in order to revitalize the river to restore the function and support the survival of river biota.AbstrakIkan mujair (Oreochromis mossambicus) banyak ditemukan di sungai Brantas dan Bengawan Solo, namun aktivitas antropogenik yang menghasilkan logam berat dapat masuk ke perairan sehingga terakumulasi dalam organisme yang hidup di perairan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan logam berat timbal (Pb) pada insang, daging, dan usus pada O. Mossambicus yang hidup di kedua sungai tersebut serta mengukur kandungan Pb pada masing-masing air sungai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan Pb pada organ O. mossambicus di sungai Bengawan Solo adalah sebagai berikut 3.159 mg/kg pada insang; 1.930 mg/kg di usus; dan 2.511 mg/kg pada daging, sedangkan di sungai Brantas adalah sebagai berikut 1.600 mg/kg pada insang; 1,402 mg/kg pada usus; dan 1,455 mg/kg pada daging. Kadar Pb pada masing-masing air sungai adalah 0,568 mg/mL (sungai Brantas) dan 0,525 mg/mL (sungai Bengawan Solo). Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa kandungan Pb pada organ ikan maupun air sungai sudah melebihi baku mutu kadar Pb pada organ yaitu 0,3 mg/kg (SNI 7387:2009) dan 0,03 mg/L pada perairan (PP No.82 tahun 2001). Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi perhatian pihak-pihak terkait agar dapat melakukan revitalisasi sungai guna mengembalikan fungsi dan mendukung keberlangsungan hidup biota sungai.

Abstract

Free sex not only causes pregnancy and abortion, but also increasing a high risk of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Knowledge of free sex is very essential for adolescents in minimizing the risk of having premarital sex. One solution to increase students’ knowledge about the dangers of sex is by providing health education through audiovisual method and flipbook media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of audiovisual method and flipbook media on the level of knowledge in adolescents about the dangers of free sex. This study used a pre-experimental design one group pre-posttest design. The sample of this study was 35 adolescents obtained by total sampling technique. The data were collected using a questionnaire on the dangers of free sex. The independent variable in this study was the effect of health education with audiovisual method and flipbook media, while the dependent variable was the level of knowledge of the dangers of free sex. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test (p = 0.05), and it was obtained p = value 0.000. The results showed that before being given education about the dangers of free sex, most respondents (71.4%) had a poor level of knowledge, but after being given education about the dangers of free sex, most respondents (71.4%) had a good level of knowledge. It can be concluded that there is an effect of audiovisual health education method and flipbook media on the level of knowledge of the dangers of free sex in adolescents. With this effort, it is hoped that the audiovisual method and flipbook media can be implemented in reducing free sex in the community and at school. Keywords: Knowledge, adolescents, free sex

Abstract

Pregnancy can result in changes in the pregnant woman, both physical and psychological cause complaints during pregnancy. At the end of pregnancy, one of the complaints felt by the mother is Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction (SPD). The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of health education using the demonstration method on knowledge and skills about chair pose on SPD problems for pregnant women. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-posttest design. The research sample was 60 second and third trimester pregnant women using purposive sampling. The independent variable in this research was health education with the demonstration method, while the dependent variable includes knowledge and skills about chair pose for overcoming SPD problems. Data collection used questionnaire and checklist sheets. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there were significant differences in knowledge (43.75+20.17 vs. 78.75+14.74) and skills (43.33+20.71 vs. 80.00+15.28) regarding chair pose on SPD problems in third trimester pregnant women between pre-test and post-test (p0.05). Health education with an effectively demonstration method increased chair pose knowledge and skills in pregnant women's SPD problems. Increasing the knowledge and skills of pregnant women is very important, because pregnant women are a vulnerable group. The demonstration method can be applied by health workers to increase the knowledge and skills of pregnant women during pregnancy. Furthermore, researchers can increase the number of research participants to obtain more varied research results.Â
