Abstract

Pregnancy can result in changes in the pregnant woman, both physical and psychological cause complaints during pregnancy. At the end of pregnancy, one of the complaints felt by the mother is Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction (SPD). The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of health education using the demonstration method on knowledge and skills about chair pose on SPD problems for pregnant women. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-posttest design. The research sample was 60 second and third trimester pregnant women using purposive sampling. The independent variable in this research was health education with the demonstration method, while the dependent variable includes knowledge and skills about chair pose for overcoming SPD problems. Data collection used questionnaire and checklist sheets. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there were significant differences in knowledge (43.75+20.17 vs. 78.75+14.74) and skills (43.33+20.71 vs. 80.00+15.28) regarding chair pose on SPD problems in third trimester pregnant women between pre-test and post-test (p0.05). Health education with an effectively demonstration method increased chair pose knowledge and skills in pregnant women's SPD problems. Increasing the knowledge and skills of pregnant women is very important, because pregnant women are a vulnerable group. The demonstration method can be applied by health workers to increase the knowledge and skills of pregnant women during pregnancy. Furthermore, researchers can increase the number of research participants to obtain more varied research results.

Abstract

Introduction: Approximately one-quarter of the global population is estimated to be infected with tuberculosis (TB). TB is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and remains the second leading cause of death from infectious diseases worldwide after COVID-19. Transmission of TB occurs through airborne droplets released from respiratory secretions. Indonesia ranks second globally in terms of the number of TB cases. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with measures to prevent tuberculosis in adolescents. Methods: This study employed an analytical design using a survey method with a correlational approach. Bivariate analysis was conducted using Kendall’s tau, while multivariate analysis was performed using linear regression. The study population consisted of 293 adolescents, with a sample of 75 respondents selected using a quota sampling technique. Results: The results of the analysis of knowledge and attitudes using kendall tau obtained a p-value = 0.001 and p-value = 0.000 and linear regression obtained a p-value = 0.000. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes with tuberculosis prevention practices among adolescents. Suggestions to further improve TB prevention measures, especially regarding covering the mouth when coughing, balanced nutritional intake, and healthy living behavior.

Abstract

Introduction: The incidence rate of HIV/AIDS among adolescents remains significantly high in the health sector. One contributing factor is the lack of knowledge and awareness among adolescents regarding the causes and prevention of HIV/AIDS. This study aims to determine the effect of health education using the Think-pair-share  method on adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes towards HIV/AIDS prevention in Karangtinggil Village. Methods: This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The study population included all 40 adolescents in Karangtinggil Village, selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a structured closed-ended questionnaire on knowledge and attitudes. After data tabulation, analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: Adolescents who had good knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention increased from 10% to 85%, and respondents with positive attitudes increased from 32.5% to 95%. The statistical test showed a significance level of p < 0.001 (with a significance threshold of p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is an influence of the think-pair-share  method of health education on the level of knowledge and attitudes of adolescents regarding HIV/AIDS prevention in Karangtinggil Village. Abstract

Introduction: Early marriage is a problem that has a significant impact on the physical, mental, and social health of adolescents. One of the main factors influencing early marriage is the low knowledge of adolescents about the risks and impacts. This study aims to determine the effect of health education using audio-visual media on increasing knowledge about preventing early marriage at SMPN 1 Sambeng. Methods: The research design used was a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 62 seventh-grade students selected through simple random sampling. This study was conducted on February 13, 2025, at SMPN 1 Sambeng. The intervention, in the form of an educational video about early marriage, was conducted once, followed by measuring the level of knowledge before and after the intervention using a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The research results showed an increase in the average knowledge of seventh-grade students about the prevention of early marriage, from a pretest score of 71.85 to a posttest score of 91.1. The study was conducted on seventh-grade students with a total of 41 male and 21 female participants. Conclusion: The results of the study showed a significant increase in the level of student knowledge after receiving health education through audio-visual media.
