Abstract

The study was aimed at improving the students’ learning interest and achievement ofmath on topic of addition and subtraction of three numbers though a work group as thetechnique to improve the learning process. It applied a classroom action researchconducted following the principles of Kemmis S, C Taggart R (1988) coveringplanning, acting, oberserving, and reflecting or evaluating. These stages were donerepeatedly and made into cycles. This was done by collaborating with the peers asobserver, supervisor and the principal of the elementary school.Based on the analysis, it can concluded that (1) the students’ interest in attending thelearning is better than the coventional method, by applying the guided inquiry and thesimple media, (2) the students’ learning achievement also improves, by applying themethod and the simple media. This can be seen from the increase of students’ learninginterest from the cycle I. It was 62% and their learning mastery was 63,38% , with anaverage score of 70,07. At the end of the Cycle II, their learning interest improved to82,4%. Their learning mastery was 88,46% and their average score was 78,26. Based onthe findings, it can be concluded that the learning of math on addition and subtractionusing guided inquiry method can be successfully applied in a classroom action research. Keywords: guided inquiry method, simple media, interest, achievement.

This study uses classroom action research design with two cycles. Each cycleconsists of action planning, action, observation, and reflection. Before taking action done priorlearning pre-cycle ago, which is used as the basis for corrective actions implemented. Results of preliminary tests prior to the act of research, namely in pre-cycle average valueobtained at 66.30. Because the value obtained student in materials science learning structure andfunction of plant parts are still considered very poor, so it needs to be implemented correctiveaction learning cycle I. In the first cycle the average value obtained for class 78.89. Values areachieved by students in the first cycle have been increased quite dramatically, but the valueachieved is still quite a lot that has not reached the minimum standards in the standar value is73.00. In addition, the participation of students is not yet active. There are still a lot of quite a lotof students are shy in presenting their opinions and ask questions. Abstract

This study explores the planning of character education projects to strengthen the Pancasila student profile through local culture in early childhood education at TK Sukoharjo 1 and TK Desa Majasto 02. Employing a descriptive qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and document studies. The findings reveal comprehensive strategies for planning, implementing, and evaluating character education projects. At TK Sukoharjo 01, the project involved forming a facilitator team, identifying readiness stages, and developing specific learning modules. Implementation utilized real-life experiences such as gardening and local markets, while evaluation focused on cooperation, communication, and care. At TK Desa Majasto 02, the project preparation included curriculum development, facilitator team formation, and methods centered around the local culture of "Ngapem," emphasizing global diversity, cooperation, and independence. The implications of these findings are profound for educational policy and practice. Integrating local cultural practices into character education effectively strengthens the Pancasila student profile, fostering values essential for national cohesion and global citizenship. These insights suggest that policymakers and educators should adopt similar culturally embedded educational frameworks, ensuring that character education is theoretically sound, practically relevant, and contextually appropriate. Despite the promising outcomes, limitations include the study's scope confined to two early childhood centers and reliance on qualitative data. Future research should explore applying similar projects in diverse settings, investigating long-term impacts, and integrating quantitative measures to enhance the evidence base.
