Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low ability of students’ mathematical problem solving and students’ cognitive style in solving problems. the purpose of this study was to determine how thw mathematical problem solving ability in term of the reflective abd impulsive cognitive style of class VIIB students of SMPN 4 South Solok. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument was in the form the Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT), mathematics problem-solving ability test and interviews. Data analysis techniques using qualitative data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusios. The result showed that who had the criteria of problem solving ability and reflective cognitive style of class VIIB students as many as 9 people consisting of 1 person who had low and very low problem solving ability criteria. Students who have the criteria of problem solving ability and cognitive style of class VIIB students are 6 people sonsiting of 1 person who has low problem solving ability criteria and very low people.ABSTRAK                              Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa dan gaya kognitif siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika ditinjau dari gaya kognitif dan impulsive siswa kelas VIIB SMPN 4 Solok Selatan. Jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berbentuk tes Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT), tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang menggunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikkan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang memiliki kriteria dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan gaya kognitif reflektif siswa kelas VIIB 9 orang yang terdiri 1 orang memiliki kriteria kemampuan pemecahan masalah rendah dan sangat rendah 8 orang. Siswa yang memiliki kriteria kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan gaya kognitif impulsive  kelas VIIB sebanyak 6 orang yang terdiri 1 orang yang memiliki kriteria kemampuan pemecahan masalah rendah dan sangat rendah 5 orang.

Abstract

This type of research is development research using R&D (Research and Development) with the Plomp development model consisting of three stages, namely Preliminary research, prototyping phase, assessment phase but in this study it only reached the prototyping phase. The instruments used are validity, practicality and independence questionnaires. The result of the validity of the validator is 88.57% with very valid criteria. The results of the practicality of learning worksheets with one mathematics teacher and students obtained a score of 97.4% in the very practical category. The learning outcomes of students using LKPD 6 students obtained a value of 93.40% with very valid criteria. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that learning media using Project Based Learning (PjBL) Based Learning Worksheets on Quadrilaterals and Triangles Material are valid and practical, and Project Based Learning (PjBL) Based Worksheets make students independent in the learning process on quadrilaterals and triangles material .

Abstract

Pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah untuk menyelesaikan soal-soal dalam pembelarajan matematika merupakan salah satu latar belakang dalam pelatihan pengembangan bahan ajar LKPD berbasis masalah bagi guru di SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini agar setiap guru mempunyai satu bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa tersebut. Pelatihan pengembangan LKPD berbasis masalah ini dikhususkan kepada guru matematika di SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. LKPD ini juga nanti dapat bermanfaat agar siswa dapat belajar mandiri dikarenakan waktu yang dibatasi dalam pembelajaran luring di Sekolah setelah melewati masa pandemi. Pelatihan ini memberikan penjelasan tahapan dari pengembangan bahan ajar dengan model Plomp, dan dilanjutkan dengan langkah pengembangan bahan ajar berupa LKPD berbasis masalah (PBL). Hasil dari pelatihan ini, terlihat bahwa guru matematika SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang lebih termotivasi dalam pengembangan bahan ajar yang kreatif dan inovatif bagi siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, khususnya dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the test instrument used by teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The limitations of the test questions used by the teacher emphasize the mastery of basic skills and there is no application of mathematics in everyday life.This study aims to produce a problem solving test instrument that is valid and reliable. This type of research is research and development (R&D) using the Plomp model. The Plomp model consists of 3 phases, namely Preliminary Research, Prototyping Phase and Assessment Phase. The instruments used were interview guidelines and validity sheets. The test subjects in this study were class VIII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang with a total of 26 students. Where 3 students as one to one test subjects and 23 students as small group test subjects. The results of this study indicate that the student problem solving test instrument is very valid, namely 88.33%. In the reliability analysis the instrument has a high reliable value of 0.72 and the reliability value is in the range of 0.60 < < 80

Abstract

The role of mathematics needs serious attention, considering its benefits in everyday life. Mathematics lessons are provided starting from elementary school to tertiary institutions in order to equip students to have the ability to think logically, critically, and creatively. The low ability to understand students' mathematical concepts is due to the fact that previously, students carried out online learning, so the teaching carried out was not adequate, and many students did not do the assignments given, resulting in students not understanding mathematical concepts correctly. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class VIII.1 students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Raya. The subjects of this research were class VIII.1 students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Raya. The research method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Instruments are used to collect data in the form of tests of ability to understand the concept, interviews, and documentation. The test results were analyzed based on indicators of understanding the concept. The results of the research on academic ability related to the ability to understand concepts are high, medium, and low from the test results.

Abstract

His research is motivated by students' understanding of mathematical conceptsstill low in class X IIS SMA PGRI 3 Padang. This is caused bylearning that is carried out is less interesting and understanding of mathematical conceptslow students. This study aims to find out analyzeunderstanding of mathematical concepts for class X IIS SMA PGRI 3 Padang.This type of research is a type of quantitative descriptive research. Populationin this study were all students of class X IIS SMA PGRI 3 Padang. The sampling technique was carried out by means of purposive sampling, selectedclass X IIS as the class being analyzed. The research instrument is in the form ofposttest by using an indicator of understanding the concept that functions formeasure the level of understanding of students' mathematical concepts. The average score of students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the sample classis 96 with a maximum value of 100 and a minimum value of 88 and a standard deviation3,7. It can be seen that the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the fourththe indicator of understanding the concept is the indicator restating aconcept 92%, classify objects according to certain properties according tothe concept is 46%, presenting the concept in various forms of representationmathematics 34 %, and apply concepts or logarithms to the solutionthe problem is 53%, so of the four indicators it is classified as lowthe ability to understand mathematical concepts, namely the Presenting indicatorconcepts in various forms of mathematical representation with numbersthe percentage is 34% and the highest percentage is on the indicatorrestating a concept with a total percentage of 92%.

Abstract

This research is motivated because the LKPD used as a companion to mathematics learning activities at SMKN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti is less interesting for students and has not utilized technology. The purpose of the study was to determine the validity and practicality of Problem Based Learning based differentiated E-LKPD on SPLTV class X material at SMKN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model. The stages in this study include analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments used are validation questionnaire and practicality questionnaire which are useful to see the validity and practicality of E-LKPD. Based on the validator's assessment, the validity of the Problem Based Learning-based differentiated E-LKPD was 76.97% with a valid category. The final score of the practicality of the one-on-one trial with the math teacher obtained a final score of 91.67% in the very practical category. The final score of the practicality of the one-on-one trial with students obtained a final score of 98.81% with a very practical category. The final value of the practicality of the small group trial by students was obtained at 96.83% with a very practical category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning-based differentiated E-LKPD on SPLTV material at SMKN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti is known to be valid and practical for use by teachers and students.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model on students’ conceptual understanding in mathematics within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. Despite curriculum reforms emphasizing student-centered learning, many classrooms remain teacher-centered, resulting in low levels of student engagement and poor conceptual understanding. This quasi-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design with a quantitative approach. The research involved students from class VIII.6 at MTsN 2 Pesisir Selatan, selected through purposive sampling. A total of four essay-type items were used in both pretest and posttest assessments, targeting three key indicators of conceptual understanding: restating concepts, applying problem-solving algorithms, and representing mathematical ideas in various forms. Data analysis involved normality and homogeneity tests, followed by a paired sample t-test to determine statistical significance. The results showed that students’ posttest scores improved significantly compared to their pretest scores, with a t-value of 18.63 exceeding the critical value at a 5% significance level. Qualitative analysis further supported the quantitative findings, as students demonstrated notable improvement across all indicators. These results suggest that the RME model effectively enhances students' conceptual understanding by fostering contextual learning, active participation, and collaborative problem-solving. The study concludes that RME is a promising instructional model that aligns well with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum and recommends its broader implementation in mathematics education to improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dengan model Discovery Learning apakah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa lebih baik dari pada menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XII SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. Teknik yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah random sampling. Terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas XII F1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XII F6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Post-test, berbentuk essay dengan reliabilitas 0,754. Selanjutnya pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji t satu pihak. Hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh P-Value < 0,05 yaitu 0,04 < 0,05 pada taraf . Sehingga bisa disimpulkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model Discovery Learning kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa lebih baik dari pada dengan menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Based on the results of interviews at partner schools, namely SMPN 27 Padang, it can be seen that the learning process carried out by teachers during the COVID-19 Pandemic is a learning process using throught WhatsApp by giving assignments to students. Therefore, the proposer and partners work together in overcoming these problems through the Community Service (PKM) program. This PKM program aims to increase teachers' knowledge about the application of online learning models, so training on the use of the Quizlet Application for Making Mathematics Problems in Geometry Material been given. The method used in achieving these goals is a simulation method and practice using the Quizlet application. The result of this community service is to increase teacher knowledge in using the Quizlet application in the mathematics learning process.
