Abstract

The research was motivated by the lack of ability of the student in constructing their own knowledge and comprehension of mathematical concept student are still low. Resolve the issue applied a strategy of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The study aims to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. This type of research is the design of the random experiment eith the subject. Populasi in this study is the eight grade student of SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh. Random sampling is done perpetually, as the experiment class is VIII5 class and control class is the class VIII1. This research instrument is the ultimate test with indicator student comprehension of mathematical concepts. Form of test used is a form of essay that valid and reliabel. Based on the test result obtained by the hypothesis P-value = 0,001 at significance level  = 0,05, since P-value  , reject H0 and accept H1. Thus, it can be concluded that student comprehension of mathematical consep using strategies of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is better than the student comprehension of mathematical concepst with convensional learning on eight grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Tuleh

Abstract

The background of this research is result of students’s mathematic value that less cause they do not have a brave to ask and give argument. The purpose of this research to know the result of students’s mathematic value using The Power of Two as an active learning strategy better than the usual learning in seven class SMP N 4 Sutera. The kind of his research is experiment research. Population of this research is students in seven class SMP N 4 Sutera Period 2012-2013, consist of seven class. The choose is VII.I class as an experiment and VII. 3 class as a control class. The instrument is result of the test. The form test is essay with reliability test r11 = 0,79. Based on data analyzing, two sample is normal distributed and do not homogen, so using test. The concluded of this result of students’s mathematic value is using The Power of Two as an active learning strategy better than the usual learning in seven class SMP N 4 Sutera Period 2012-2013.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the students comprehension of mathematical concepts of class VIII SMPN 1 Koto Salak Kabupaten Dharmasraya year of learning 2012/2013 are still low. This study aims to determine the students comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply Teknik Penghasil Pertanyaan with using comics media better than students comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply learning conventional in class VIII SMPN 1 Koto Salak Kabupaten Dharmasraya year of learning 2012/2013. Type of research is experiment with randomized control group only design. The population in research is class VIII students that registrated on 2012/2013 year learning. Sampling technique is random. The instrument that used in this research is comprehension of mathematical concepts test in essay. Hypothesis testing using the U Mann Whitney test with MINITAB helping. The result of hypothesis test significant in 0,0003 it means less than  = 0,05. So that can be conclude that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply Teknik Penghasil Pertanyaan with using comics media better than students comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 1 Koto Salak Kabupaten Dharmasraya year of learning 2012/2013.

Abstract

This research is based on the students comprehension of mathematical concepts are still low. This study aims to determine: 1) how the development indicators of students comprehension of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies The Power Of Two types accompanied quiz; 2) whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies The Power Of Two types of quizzes with better than students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning in class VIII SMP 27 Padang. Type of research is experimental research with the design random on the subject. Population in this research is student class VIII SMPN 27 Padang. Sample is done randomly. The instrument of this research is quizzes and final test. Quizzes Analysis technique used techniques percentage and final test data analysis techniques using the t test. Results were obtained: 1) indicators of achievement of students comprehension of mathematical concepts are not stable or up and down, 2) hypothesis testing results obtained tvalue=2,37  is greater than ttable=1,645. It can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies The Power Of Two types of quizzes with better than students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning at the level of 95% in SMP 27 Padang.

Abstract

This research is from the background of the student in SMPN 5 MuaraBungo not have enough concept comprehension. That is couse the lesson still concentrate on the teacher and many of student only imitate their classmates exercise, this research have a parpose to see that is mathematics concept comprehension of the student with the active lesson application True Or False Statement type is more good than mathematics concept comprehension of the student with convensional lesson. Kind of research is experiment research  with research design is random about subjek. Population in this research is the VIII grade. Sample removal technic is random, the VIII.2 grade is choose as experiment class and VIII.4 is choose as control class. Instrument that use is the last mathematics concept comprehension test. Type of the test is essay with test realibityis  r11 = 0,97. Analysis technic is t test with MINITAB. Be based on data analysis, we know that two sample class have a normal distribution an have a homogeneity with 95% trust level. The result of hypothesis test we have P-value= 0,004is that mean more low than α = 0,05, so the hypothesis of this research is receive than it can be interpret that mathematics concept comprehension of the student with the active lesson application True Or False Statement type is more good than mathematics concept comprehension of the student with convensional lesson in VIII grade SMPN 5 MuaraBungo lesson year 2013/2014.

Abstract

The background of this research was students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts which was still low at eight grades in MTsN Durian Tarung. The purpose of this research was to find out whether students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts by using TAI Cooperative Learning was better than a conventional learning. The research was an Experimental Research with random arrangement toward the subject of this research. The research population is all Eight Grade students. The samples were chosen randomly. The instrument used in this research is essay posttest with indicator comprehension concept. Data analysis technique used was one party t-test. Based on the result of t-test is   = 3,67, it means better than   = 1,645. In result, the hypothesis is accepted, students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts by using TAI Cooperative Learning was better than a conventional learning, with 95% credibility

Abstract

This research has background by students less activity and concept of students understanding in mathematical, also students teamwork in learning process. This research aims to know students activity and to know what is concept of students understanding in mathematic applying by students was wrong real correct strategy related has good effect than the concept of students understanding in mathematical with conventional study. This research was experiment, with research device of subject was random. The population was class students of  VII SMPN 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. The samples were class of VIIb as experiment and VIId as control class. Instrument this research was final test concept of students understanding in mathematics. Test used in essay form with reliability of test r11 = 0,8955. Technique the data analysis was test by using MINITAB. Based on the value of final test mathematics at both classes of samples obtained by experiment class had mean score = 74,53, standard deviation = 20,11, control class had mean score = 54,14, standard deviation = 21,60. Result of data analysis known by both samples have homogeneous and normal distribution α = 0, 05, P-Value 0,000, so that can be concluded the concept of students understanding in mathematics by applying wrong real correct strategy related had good effect than the students understanding with conventional study at students of VII SMPN 2 Linggo Sari Baganti in academic year 2012/2013.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts are still low and cooperation among students who are less intertwined. This reseacrh is aimed at knowing the student’s mathematical concept by applying the active strategy learning with practice – rehearsal pairs type accompanied with LKS better than the understanding of student’s mathematical concept by applying conventional learning. The type of this reserach is experimental that used random design on the subject. Population of this research is the student’s of XI IPA2 which consist of four classes. This research used random sampling, XI IPA2 as experimental class, and XI IPA1 as control class. Instrument of this research is final test of student’s understanding mathematical concept in the form of essay with the reliability test is 0,853, meaning given problem reliably. Based on the analysis of the data is known that both of the class sample  distribute normally and homogeneous on the real level   hypothesis test results obtained P-value = 0,003 less than  so, the hypothesis in this study received. Thus, it can be concluded the student’s understanding mathematical concept by applying the active strategy learning with practice – rehearsal pairs type accompanied with LKS better than the understanding of student’s mathematical concept by applying conventional learning.

Abstract

This research from concept comprehension mathematically students that still low, they less active, their motivation in learning math is still low. This research has goal to know wheter comprehension mathematically concept students which including comprehension learning at grade VII SMP Negeri 5 Solok. This experiment research with research design Random Toward Subject. The population of this research is students grade VII SMP Negeri 5 Solok Academic Year 2012-2013 that conclude in seven classes. To decide this experiment class and control class doing by random, selected class VIIF as a experiment class and class VIIE as a control class. The instrument that using in this research is comprehension math concept test. The result of data analysis known both of the class get normal distribute and homogenius is α = 0,05 and the result hypothesis test with MINITAB getting p-value = 0,001, so the hypothesis in this research is accepted. So, in conclusion the math concept students comprehension that applied model of Cooperative Learning by techniques Make-A Match better than the math concept students comprehension in convensional learning at student grade VII SMP Negeri 5 Solok academic year 2012-2013 with credibility level 95%.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the fact that the students’ understanding on mathematics concept was still low and the students seemed unable to answer the questions given by the teacher. This research was aimed atrevealing whether the use of Chained-Greeting and Question technique accompanied with Handout could improve the second year students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of conventional learning. The population of the research was the second year students of SMPN 3 Basa Ampek Balai. The data was collected through a post-test that used mathematics conceptual understanding indicators and scoring based on analytic rubric. The data gotten was analyzed by using t-test assisted with MINITAB. The result of this analysis showed that P-Value was 0.001 which was smaller than α=0.05 indicating that hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, it can be said that that the use of Chained- Greeting and Question technique accompanied with Handout could improve the second year students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of conventional learning at SMPN 3 Basa Ampek Balai in Academic Year 2013-2014.
