Abstract

The seventh grade science teacher at MTsN 3 Kota Pariaman has problems in developing an instrument for assessing higher order thinking skills. In the 2013 curriculum, teachers are required to be able to provide questions in the C4-C6 domain, namely High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). This study aim to produce a valid and practical assessment instrument for higher order thinking skills on environmental pollution material at the C4-C6 cognitive level. The background of this research is that the questions made by the teacher are still at the C1-C3 level and there are still obstacles for teachers in developing higher order thinking skills assessment instruments, while inthe 2013 curriculum teachers are required to be able to provide questions in the C4-C6 domain. This type of research is research development (Research and Development) which is a research method used to produce certain products. This type of research uses 3 stages of the 4-D model, namely the define, design and develop stages.Based on the research conducted, a very valid assessment instrument of 3,32 was produced by thevalidator, the empirical validity there were 30 valid questions and 10 invalid questions, the reliability in this study was 0,77 with the category of reliability, 94,79% teacher practicality and practicality. students amounted to 80,80%, the difficulty level of the questions was between 0,31 to 0,70 with moderate criteria and the question difference had sufficient criteria. This research can be used as a reference for other researchers related to the development of higher order thinking skills assessment instruments. Keywords : High Order Thinking Skills, Validity

Abstract

This study aims to determine the external factors that cause student learning difficulties and their influence on the biology learning outcomes of class XI IPA MAN 3 Padang City students. In general, students have learning difficulties due to several factors. One of the influencing factors is external factors, where external factors consist of family, school and community factors. These factors are very influential on student learning outcomes. This type of research is descriptive with quantitative research methods. The research was conducted at MAN 3 Padang City. The sample is all students of class XI IPA as many as 33 students. The sampling technique is a random sampling technique. Collecting data using research instruments in the form of a valid questionnaire of 3.38. The results showed that the external factors of students' learning difficulties, family factors, were 2.42, schools were 2.39 and community factors were 1.8. The highest external factor of learning difficulties is the family factor. There is a significant relationship external factors of learning difficulties to learning outcomes on the 0.05 t test. It can be concluded that t table (3,638>2,040), where Hi is accepted, Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a significant relationship between external factors causing learning difficulties and students' biology learning outcomes. So it is expected for teachers and parents to be able to recognize the learning difficulties that students have, so that learning can run smoothly.

Abstract

The implementation of the Adiwiyata program is expected to enhance students' awareness and understanding of environmental issues, fostering a strong sense of ecoliteracy. However, based on the facts in the field, the existence of the Adiwiyata program has not been able to guarantee an increase in environmental awareness among students. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in fostering and developing student ecoliteracy. This study is a descriptive research employing quantitative methods, aimed at objectively describing and analyzing existing phenomena or conditions related to the implementation of the Adiwiyata program and its impact on student ecoliteracy. In collecting data, researchers used a questionnaire completed directly by junior high school students participating in the Adiwiyata program, involving 101 students from six schools. The data collected from respondents were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. This study shows that students in Adiwiyata schools show a level of ecoliteracy in the sufficient category. This is due to various factors, one of which is that the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in junior high schools in Padang City is still relatively voluntary and independent. Support from all stakeholders, including the education office and local communities, is necessary to ensure that the Adiwiyata program is not only symbolic but also truly creates a sustainable ecoliteracy transformation.
