Abstract

Quail has a competitive ability to compete with other sources of meat in meeting the needs of the community. Feed is the basic need of every animal. From an economic point of view, the cost of feed is very high, reaching 70% of the total cost of quail production. One of the ingredients that can be used as feed ingredients for animal protein sources that are widely available is the golden snail or called the mulberry snail (Pomacea canaliculata L) . One way to increase the nutritional content of feed ingredients is by fermentation. The golden snail flour is fermented using eco-enzymes, where these eco-enzymes are very easy to make and require little cost to manufacture. So it is necessary to calculate the financial analysis of quail feed made using gold snail flour fermented using eco-enzymes. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The parameters studied are Total Production Costs, Total Production Results, Profit and Loss Analysis, Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC), and R/C (Revenue/Cost) . Based on the results of the study, it was found that feeding using golden snail flour fermented using eco-enzymes in the ration as much as 12% got the best results, because Total Production Costs, Total Production Results, Profit-Loss Analysis, Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC), and R /C (Revenue/Cost) got the best results compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Scabies is a disease caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei that attacks goats. It is quite difficult for traditional goat breeders to obtain scabies medicine because of the high price, so alternative treatment is necessary. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of eco-enzymes as an alternative for the treatment of scabies in goats. The study was conducted at the Sei Putih Goat Research Workshop, Galang District, from September to October 2021. This study used a factorial completely randomized design because there were two factors, namely the concentration of ecoenzymes (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) and time difference (0 hours, 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours) and repeated 4 times. Each replication contained 10 mites. The parameters used were the number of dead mites, mite death rate and mite lethal concentration. The results showed that the ecoenzyme was effective in killing and suppressing the growth of Sarcoptes scabiei mites in vitro. The LC50 value is 40.45% which proves that the eco-enzyme is able to kill mites in goats.

Abstract

Feed is one of the determining factors for the success of livestock production because it takes up 70-80% of production costs. High-protein feed ingredients are one of the high-priced feed ingredients, so it is necessary to use non- conventional feeds. The golden snail is a pest that interferes with rice growth in agricultural areas. The golden snail has a high protein content so it is very efficient to be used as a protein source feed ingredient. In this study, fermented golden snails in the form of flour were used as a substitute for fish meal in the rations of laying quail. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) using 4 treatments and 5 replications, namely P0 = 8% fish flour, P1 = 4% fermented golden snail flour, P2 = 8% fermented golden snail flour, P3 = 12% fermented golden snail flour . The research parameters were feed consumption, egg production, egg weight, feed conversion. The results showed that the utilization of fermented golden snail flour up to 12% had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on feed consumption, egg production and feed conversion with an average of 108.573g/e/week, 33.476%, and 1 ,77. However, it gave an insignificant impact on egg weight with an average value of 10.15 g/grain. The highest ration consumption was at P0 of 114,488g/e/week, the highest egg production was at P3 of 40.667% and the best feed conversion was at P3 of 1.06. The results showed that the use of fermented golden snail flour using 12% Eko enzymes was suitable to be used as a substitute for fish meal
