Abstract

Abstract

Scouting education is part of the national education system and plays a vital role in shaping students' character, skills, and personality through a systematic, continuous development process. Scouting not only functions as an extracurricular activity, but also as a non-formal educational vehicle that supports the national education goal of developing people who are faithful, moral, independent, and possess life skills. In this context, the quality of development is greatly influenced by the competence and performance of scout leaders. This study aims to analyse the influence of scouting education and organisational experience on skills and their implications for the performance of scout leaders in the Menes District, Pandeglang Regency. The study used a quantitative, explanatory design. Data were collected through questionnaires from 98 scout leaders who served as respondents using a saturated sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modelling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that scouting education and organisational experience had a positive, significant effect on scout leader skills. In addition, scouting education, organisational experience, and skills significantly affected scout leader performance. Skills have been shown to have the strongest influence on performance and to mediate the relationship between scouting education and organisational experience on scoutmaster performance. These findings indicate that improved scoutmaster performance is not solely determined by education and organisational experience, but also by strengthening skills relevant to the coaching task. Therefore, developing sustainable scouting education, increasing organisational involvement, and strengthening scoutmaster skills programs are important strategies to improve the quality of scouter training in educational units.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a key factor in determining the quality of education. However, it is influenced not only by individual competence but also by organisational factors, such as the work environment, organisational climate, and job satisfaction. This study aims to examine the effects of the work environment and organisational climate on job satisfaction and their implications for teacher performance in public elementary schools in Bojong Subdistrict, Pandeglang Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. Data were collected via Likert-scale questionnaires distributed to 100 teachers and analysed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that both the work environment and organisational climate have positive and significant effects on teachers' job satisfaction. Job satisfaction was found to be the most dominant factor influencing teacher performance and also functioned as a mediating variable linking organisational factors to performance. In addition, the work environment and organisational climate had direct, significant effects on teacher performance. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening organisational conditions in schools to improve teacher performance. This study contributes to the development of educational management research by providing an integrated model linking work environment, organisational climate, job satisfaction, and teacher performance.

Abstract

Recidivism is an important indicator in assessing the effectiveness of the correctional system and the success of inmate rehabilitation programs. The high rate of repeat offenses indicates that the process of rehabilitating and social reintegrating inmates has not been fully optimized. This study aims to analyze the influence of family support and community social support on reducing the risk of recidivism through the Personality Development program for inmates at Serang Penitentiary. This study uses a quantitative explanatory approach with a survey method. Primary data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 130 inmates selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method to test the direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results show that family support and community social support have a positive and significant effect on the Personality Development program. The Personality Development program has also been shown to have a significant effect on reducing the risk of recidivism. In addition, the development program acts as a partial mediating variable in the relationship between social support and reduced risk of recidivism. The R-square value of 0.821 indicates that family support, social support, and mentoring programs explain 82.1% of the variation in the reduction in recidivism risk. This finding confirms that the success of inmate reintegration is not solely determined by mentoring within correctional institutions but is also significantly influenced by family involvement and social acceptance. Therefore, the synergy between correctional institutions, families, and the community needs to be strengthened to sustainably reduce the risk of recidivism.
